If you pour the fuel in the holly carb into the bowl vents it will fill the fuel bowls up, allowing more gas to run engine on and possibly run long enough to pull fuel from the tank
I am slowly making my way through all your videos. I enjoy watching you restore these old cars. It gives me motivation to work on mine. Looking forward to the next video!
Wow GREAT!!! I have the twin c3 but she's 81 still need odds and ends will try to connect with you for parts !!! Great video!! Can't wait to see next one!
I love that style Corvette. The next generation is good, to, but I think the newer ones are trying to be a European sports car, not an American one. Obviously, the electronics are amazing....I guess I'm just an old school kinda guy. I put a Kenwood stereo system in a 77 Vette years ago. Being a novice on this car, IT TOOK ALL DAY. But, it worked well. Suggestions..You might would like to do a 57, 58 OLDS, Pontiac, or Buick. I think those cars are beautiful. I hate the fact that the 55-57 Chevy gets ALL the attention. The Chrysler lineup is pretty as well as Ford. My dream car is a 56 Packard Caribbean...OMG!
750 cfm double pumper is about right if it's running center bolt Vortec or aftermarket heads and has a fairly healthy cam. Once you get the valve covers off check the serial numbers, cause some centerbolt heads are not high flow Vortecs. Agree that 600 or 650 cfm would be better if stock flowing heads and stock cam. Have to figure out what you have before deciding move to a smaller carb.
Ben, get the wife's bottle of Dawn dish washing liquid soap bottle, they have a cap on them that will let you have more control on the gas priming technique. Great video, Cheers !!***. PS. Love them doggies !!.
Hello, I hope your well. I came across your video today after I had the guts to look at my corvette today after ignoring it for about a year as it sat on my driveway. I have the same exact corvette as you. I'm daunted about restoring it again for the second time. IT has RUST. I opened the passenger door and rust came off the bottom inside how much bottom of door. I would like to have it delivered to a restoration expert but I'm afraid of getting ripped off about how much work it actually needs. I know there are probably areas of metal/aluminum that are rusted and need to be replaced. I may want to take the task on myself. What do you think?
Needs a tune up badly! Sounds like the legendary 3/4 race cam😎 those actually aren't too bad of a car with some mods, and can still be found for a reasonable price! I have a 57 and 72, 75 is newest I've ever owned driven or rode in, good score, seems in decent shape, looks like no saggy rear leaf, found out the hard way what makes those rear wheels tilt in!
Hey new to your channel. My 1980 C3 L48 here in California is still a lot of fun to drive. I noticed your car doesn’t have the mandatory 85 MPH speedo on it. It also has headers which means it’s obviously a non-California car. My clear coat is also in need of a good paint job but still gets the looks.
Hi Ben I'm from Canada, I watched all your videos and I must say for a young guy you are very very knowledgeable on the C3 Corvettes keep up the great work! Always look forward to new videos, maybe in the future a second gen trans am? That would be awesome! I like vettes but firebirds is where my heart is,anyways cheers from Canada
Hello Sir,I have a 1971 LT-1 that will not stay idling.I have tested the check valve to the wipers and the filter. The check valve failed. Is their anything else I can check? Thanks Dave.
Hi Ben, I'm going to pick up a 78 corvette 12 hours from my home in South Carolina. I'm planing renting a U-Haul trailer. Should I worry about any clearances ? Or any other advice when transporting it. Thanks, Jim
So I found a red on red 1980 Corvette 1 owner with 54xxx original odometer. paint pretty dead, interior not great, driver floor pan rusted out, but everything is there. I can buy it for $4k. frame and cage seem solid, exhaust and leaf pretty rusty. Car runs and drives very smooth. Should I jump at this low price? Would you go for it based on my brief description? Thanks!
Ben,with all the vehicles that you buy, maybe you should invest in an electric winch for your trailer? It would help greatly in loading/unloading cars. JMHO dude!
You are lucky the nose didn't come off when you backed it off the trailer. May want to get some longer ramps or extend them with some boards. Love those 80s C3s though.
@@TheCorvetteBen okay just be careful. I have a similar trailer and I haul my Fieros and the nose wants to tear off if i'm not careful. Love your channel by the way.
Hey Ben, Thanks again for the hood latches for my 68. Another great video. Are you doing this for a customer or will it be for sale? If so let me know I might be interested in buying it for my wife.
can u do a list of all parts under the hood of a c3 ? thats how i know what to change when im buying engine water pump fuel pump distributer cooler intake power steering What else ?
How can you say a carb is too big without knowing the cfm of the carb or the engine specs, Holley's just look big compared to an Edeljunk because of the two fuel bowls.
@@TheCorvetteBen It's fine, you can oversize carbs some without having a negative impact. But you need to have it properly tuned and functioning just like any carb. I have a 670 Holley Street Avenger on my 355 and it's the best running carb I've ever had.
Do you enjoy playing Russian roulette with your phone ? Balance it on a curvy corvette fender and then fire the engine up is one way to crack the screen.
11:00 minutes all you give us is 11:00 measley minutes? dang it I'm complaining to the union about this!! The union being ...your mother.......ohhh Benjamin's mom Benjamin is misbehaving again!! wait maybe I should complain to his Boss Jasmin.....mwahahahaha!! ok Ben as most car vids go this was not aweful so maybe we will let it slide. :)
