@@kensei1984 Haha yea nobody ever thinks like that. If anything I imagine most people appreciate those little weird exchanges as just something kinda funny to break up the monotony of the same old interactions, and then completely forget about it. The other day I was checking out at Target, had maybe four bags of items and the girl behind the counter, I noticed her name tag said Lyric and I just thought that was kind of a cool name, and just blurred out “That’s a pretty name, Lyric.” And she was like “Thank you.” And then she started talking about what she was gonna do after work and how she didn’t have any plans and I realized oh, she thought I was hitting on her so she’s trying to nudge things along here, drop some hints. Once I got home, I realized I didn’t have one of the bags, she forgot to put it in my cart. I think we were both just so shook by the moment, her by being unexpectedly hit on and me by realizing I had accidentally hit on her, that neither of us realized a bag was left sitting on top of the little carousel thing lol. Had to drive all the way back up there
Please tell me there will be more series like this. The possibility are endless, and seeing the interpersonal interactions are my favorite part. I learn a lot about cooking, but it’s the people for sure.
It’s so hard to make a series like this and even harder to get people to watch something this long...but this is an excellent show and tons of people are watching
i LOVE when claire randomly appears in episodes she's not supposed to be in, so good to see her in her natural state and not frustrated over tempered chocolate :p
Was seriously driving me insane watching them try to fiddle with that metal peel. I've only ever seen metal peels used in really hot ovens to move the pizza around or pull it out. Wood is far better in most usages.
You are so right-on with your observation. Chris is the accommodating quiet one of the group who knows much more than he thinks he does and is so self-deprecating. The others notice his attributes but he often minimizes their positive appraisal. He's a consummate wing-man personality. He supports the main player while being the key that holds it altogether.
Or to pay attetion in any pizzeria ever that they went they all use wood peel to put it in the oven and metal to remove it ( i was a pizza guy for over 10 years and worked and/or managed over a dozen differny resturaunts
I too was surprised to see them all messing with the metal peel and not use one made from wood. I mean: shouldn't professional chefs know about this? So thanks to Chris (of course) he and Andy finally got their pies together.
What could they do like this next, though? Some kind of pasta dish? I'm just trying to think of what is at least a similar level of tasks they could carry out individually to bring together, that has a lot of different options, and I'm really not thinking of anything.
fakecubed Mac and cheese is the one I can think of right off the bat. Maybe they could get submissions from people because different cultures have different dishes they could riff on.
@@fakecubed next should be something for summer, maybe burgers or making the perfect Bbq and have a bunch of 2-4 videos all summer long with the big meal at labor day. Anyway dying to see the finale
I love Chris. He's that uncle that you think is really uptight but as you get to know his realize he is just as silly as your dad. Plus I appreciate how Chris challenges classic masculinity.
Chris needs people to interact with to shine. Few of the BA Chefs have the ability to run their videos solo. Even Brad is a good example, he often needed to interact with Vinnie to bring out the fullest extent of his personality.
@@stevethea5250 "Pizza pie" is an expression in the US. It just means pizza. They are calling it pie for short. It's more of a regional thing. Not that commonly used. Pizza is pizza.
There isn't anybody who can't handle pineapple on pizza, it's not a ghost chili for God's sake. Nobody likes pineapple on pizza because it tastes bad. Who likes to eat food that tastes bad?
Same feelings here, Sunayna. He honestly reminds me a lot of my Dad, that sort of alert comfiness in the personality. (If you're not sure how to feel about that comparison- choose good[caliber] because it's a good[intent] comparison. I think a compliment to both people.)
@@rng9548 Are you talking about Chris, or Adam? I don't get that vibe at all from Chris. Seems like everyone wants to hear what Chris has to say because he is so eloquent and describes the food experience, not just the food.
Probably just a few large batches of dough made on different days, really depends on how the filming of these were scheduled, if it was condensed, she could have made as few as 2 or 3 batches, fermentation, amount of zza made, and length of series filming all considered of course. I doubt she would make multiple small batches of dough every day, that's just inefficient.
there's only one passive-aggressive attitude and that is from Molly Baz. She was rolling eyes and making fun of the others with her distinct "pronunciation" like suggesting that they didn't make a "huge success" the day before. She comes off as really rude and snobbish (and I'm not talking about the part with her boss, I can't judge on that).
Lol ya. What I've also observed is that Carla is probably a great people person because everyone seems to be in a good mood when working with her/minimal passive aggressiveness towards her
Huge shout out to the person that puts the backing sound into these videos. Just the awesome riffs, rolls and rhythms help to carry it along. Great job!
You know why this is better than tasty? Cause it shows what really happens in a test kitchen. Nothing about just presenting it beautifully. You get to watch these chefs have breakdowns and you enjoy their success, too. What an awesome channel. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
She also does the "if you disagree with me I'm not going to look at you anymore" bs. If it were me I would find that extremely offensive. Like I'm not a person anymore because your favorite pizza is not my favorite? My opinion of her instantly dropped when I saw that nonsense.
@@jeffwells641 In fairness, she's being humorous/tongue-in-cheek about it. That said, she kinda rubs me the slightly wrong way being negative a lot of the time. But I don't think she's actually immature or that petty, I think she's just teasing people.
It shows he is sensible with no time for useless cr@p. Everything else shows he is experienced - the timer, spoons available, the way he drinks water. He's been in kitchens.
So the question left for me in this episode is WHO WROTE “NO MUSHROOMS” 1. Molly was nodding about the idea of mushrooms 2. Clare was also enthusiastic 3. Can’t be Chris or Andy 4. They recognized brads writing Therefore..... CARLA!
i feel like Chris is the best team player, ya know? like he is willing to compromise, hear all sides, and adapt to ideas other than his own. The rest of the chefs, though i love them ALL, are so type A and stubborn!
That night, at 1am, Chris sneaked into the test kitchen to make a pineapple pizza by himself away from judging eyes. In the darkness, there was finally no-one to stop him.
@@DankSoulsVoid Bon Appétit and Conde Nast (the company who helps film this channel) we’re exposed for not paying the minority workers, Adam Rapport resigned after images of him in brown resurfaced to the internet and he is believe to have played a role in making sure that minority were in videos but not payed unlike their white counterparts.
*The BA formula is incredible: colorful casts, positive atmosphere and a whole lot of food science in one beautifully edited video. This is the definition of quality content.*
All I'm gonna say is if supertaster Chris says pineapple goes on pizza then pineapple goes on pizza. He is THE flavor authority in the BA test kitchen lol
@@syystomu I don't think it's so bad if it's balanced out with a bit of spice, I actually really like chicken tikka w/ pineapple and roast garlic with mozerella on pizza, it has the be the kind of tikka you get in a starter, not the saucy kind ofcourse!
That's what I was thinking! I'm no taste expert (picky eater, really), but I like pineapple on pizza (with ham and/or salami), and I felt validated. I mean, they all talk about how he has the best taste buds. That means he knows what's up! I just like sweet & savoury, my issue isn't people not liking it so much as people banishing the whole option!
So annoying. Can that guy pronounce an asian ingredient right then? Like belacan or tempoyak? Hmm? Then be nice about your fkn Speck speck speck. I'd say it the wrong way just to annoy him. Lol.
I respect Chris so much more for being the lone-lover of pineapple in the room. Even if that's not to your taste, the man stands up for what he believes in.
Xiphcreature I'm living in New Zealand and I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't want pineapple. If you get a supreme Pizza from Domino's or just a frozen pizza from the shop it has pineapple.
In a real way it's Management and Boss goals too. Like no one was wincing that she was talking like that. Adam took it all in great stride. You get the sense that he fosters and encourages being a human being in the workplace. He didn't tell her what was wrong with the pizza, he gave helpful suggestions like anyone else on the team or show would have done as an equal.
Ya it annoys me how everyone just boarded the pineapple pizza hate train several years back and never got off. For me it's just another topping. I'll have it sometimes and it can work very well. I only have it only occasionally cuz I like to switch it up, but it's a real nice topping imo
As much as I enjoy BA contents, the other reason I really enjoy them is because the comment section is thriving with wholesome funny comments as well hahaha. Keep up the good work BA, and continue contributing everyone 😁😘
It reminds me of Reddit a bit, everyone in the comments seem more sensible and funny than average people on the internet. Probably because kids don’t care about food that much lol
Also, coughing while preparing food is a no-no. A stuffed nose means you won't be able to taste properly. An upset stomach means easy foods. So their treshold for staying home is probably lower than average given the circumstances of their job.
Molly - Rachel Ray with the acronyms and mom jokes Chris - quietly competent, gets the job done with least fuss. Gold standard taste buds. Kind of like the pro assassin in movies - in, quick perfect shot, & out. Claire - slowly unraveling under pressure. Also the scene with "Claire, we need to talk" reminded me of talking to a teen daughter. Carla - cool mom who is secretly a pyro Andy - thirst pics & extra
Um, you do know the difference between a gourmet and a gourmand, I hope? Gourmets savor the flavors and tastes, especially the more rare ones. Gourmands on the other hand, love to eat loads and loads, not really caring about the tase, just the amount.
Wooden peal = bind blown. Also, can I just say how much I love and appreciate how calm and put together Chris is?? He is the only sane person in the BA kitchen. Ahh, Chris is the best!
@@kellievanellie haven't watched it because I can't bare to watch most videos with her in it, but she probably deserves it. Even people who like her admit that she is pretentious most of time.
Molly: Drain it. You MUST drain it for 30 mins. Under no circumstances should you not drain it for 30 mins. Andy and Chris: *already knowing they won't drain it for that long* 🙂
I’m feeling this series. You guys took something so simple and made it complex, in the best possible way. It’s like watching a toddler build wit Legos- you know the end result will always be a building, but you’re so proud watching them You guys must continue this!!!
As an Alabamian, I find it pretty amazing that you can stumble into just about any cured meats counter with an italian guy, and he'll give you his personal manifesto on pizza and which toppings and sauce are best for it. Pretty incredible to be honest.
What would an Alabamian charcutier do if you were to ask for the same advice? I mean, they are experts and will want you to leave the store with something, so they should have some opinions on the product.
these two are so underrated in my opinion. I really just love the whole crew but these small team ups really make you appreciate them individually at the same time....im emoting
