If ya talk to the Jamaican artists who recorded for Blackwell, they clearly do say this. They'll also say he was a vampire too, but ya gotta know the range. It's a big music with a big history. Chris Blackwell has one of the most interesting lives Ive ever read about - his mother was a millionaireness who's family wealth came from sugar cane and slavery (the Lupo Wing in London where the last two Royal babies were born was names after her family after they built it). She was the lover of Ian Fleming, the inspiration for many of the early Bond Girls, and Chris regulary worked on the films before going into music. You may or may not like the man but his life is very interesting.
