Long Distance Pumping (LDP) is supposed to be an efficient way to pump a skateboard and my hat is off to those who put in the miles. I think I could do it for a whole lot longer if I didn't try and hard-carve up hills and raise my heart rate too quickly. Damn pulmonary fibrosis getting in the way of the first real test of my new TKP Prototype trucks. They feel great, but I'll need some decks that are better suited to the task before I do a deeper dive into the various available axles positions. Stay tuned for future updates. That camera is actually working really well. Kinda messes with proportions, but you can see the board really well and its really comfortable with no shaking. A lot of the footage I get of myself riding ends up being pretty unwatchable.

I've been quite enjoying these latest prototype videos - design, theory, and testing. Mildly triggered by the mongo footbraking, but still enjoyed how you owned it. Haha

I can push and brake with either foot but when trying something for the first time (and with a fragile camera in hand) I figured it I'd go with my strong suit. Although it's less stable you can actually brake faster mongo because of all the pressure you can put on a foot that's positioned well behind the tail of the deck.

@@chrischaput Well, that's impressive. I'm certainly not that ambidextrous when it comes to pushing and braking. Any tips to start pushing with the less dominant leg? I've started with some flat ground exercises. No mongo braking yet. :D

Great video, you're super fluid. Do you have any wedging/dewedging on that board? Pumps really well.

I hate having to wedge trucks. I make baseplates with the desired native plate angle and mount them directly to the deck or or on FLAT pads to the right height. I like uniform mounting hardware (screws all the same length, perpendicular to the plates). I've made baseplates at 5° increments from 25° to 50° for TKPs, and from 0° to 60° for RKPs.
