Make no mistake, she and the rest of MSM are treating him well because he's opposing their arch enemy Donald Trump. But if Christie gets the nomination, they will turn on him before you can say fugetaboutit. Just look at George W. Bush. Oh they love him now because he's anti-Trump, but don't forget these are the same people who called him Nazi 8 years earlier.
I am a declared Democrat. Voted for Bernie twice, followed by Clinton and Biden in the general elections. The fact that I can disagree with what Chris Christie says policy-wise, and still feel inspired by him speaks volumes. Not to oversell him; to me, he just seems like any of the dozens of normal Americans I've met throughout my life. He isn't a freak-show attention hog. He isn't a weirdo, obsessed with off-the-wall "culture wars" (as far as I can tell). He just seems like a normal American, who happens to have different policy beliefs than I do. I'm going to vote by policy. But if he keeps this level of statesmanship up, I would never be ashamed to call him my president during a Christie presidential administration.
Sorry, I do understand he speaks for the truth now, but at the end of the day, he was once one of Donald Trump's lackeys. It's very hard to trust the words of the MAGA Republican Party, but I believe that there are lots of Republicans who are still normal! I can also honestly say that among the Republican competitors, I considered him to have the courage to go against the playbook of MAGA extremism and slap it on their faces! Being skeptical and not giving full trust to people who once were on the wrong side... For me, it's just normal. Anyway, Mr. Christie earns my respect for this one, and hopefully he can stand firm for what is right this time 'til the end, even if he may not be lucky to be the Republican nominee, just in case.
I call that the beer drinking test....which is would I consider having a beer with thus guy (or gal)? George W Bush passed that test as does Chris Christie. I wouldn't want to be seen with Donald tRUmp
Not so much...talking about the "highest debt in history " caused by "the tax cut was good". He messed up there. He was a good governor. A lot of Never Trumpers hate him, but I haven't been able to figure out WHY.
Sure she gave a fair interview now because he's attacking the Big Bad Orange Man. But if Christie should win the nomination they will, in Trump's words, turn on him so fast you won't believe it.
@@Youdidnthearme He has been relenting since enacting trans rights in '17, although his anti-same sex marriage stance seems to be lingering. I tend to put him in Mitt Romney's camp, as one whose personal beliefs wouldn't unduly affect public policy decisions. The rest of GOP candidates seem to be openly hostile.
You can overcome policy differences. There is no single candidate I agree with on policy. We need a president who is strong and understands foreign policy and someone who won’t embarrass Americans. At least Christie has a bona fide reason for his rationale
@@mw354 I completely agree with you. He is head and shoulders above any of the other Republicans in the race. I wouldn’t have any issue voting for him.
His speech coming out was really good and incredibly refreshing to hear from a respectable republican. Dare I say it actually gives me some hope for the future of our government that I haven't felt in QUITE a while. As a left leaning centrist, I would consider voting for him over Biden, I just need to know that he will help to start eradicating the MAGA loons already actively mixed in our government and not bend to their will. The country needs to get back to someone who encourages decency, not just blind loyalty like the mob.
I am a independent that normally votes democrat. I think Gov. Christi for having an open and seemingly honest conversation. Appreciate the revelations that you have had and owning your wrong. I’ve definitely got my eye on you 👁️
Christie is 100% right……what the hell was Jared and Ivanka doing in the White House on a salary and NO ABILITY to get a security clearance by the US Govt.!🥊🥊
he might be right on principle but knowing that Cheeto would listen to almost no one, Ivanka being one of the exceptions, it always gave me some comfort to know she was around. She's faaaar from perfect but she's 100 time saner than her dad.
@@kathybanks7508they did take a salary. Over 2 million each, I believe. At first Trump said they wouldn’t, but after a year, he said they would be paid.
Lean left. Love this guy. Grit and truth. I would consider voting for him. I need to hear his policy frameworks. But I believe Christie could be a strong moderate to unite. 💪🏻
I am a registered Democrat and have never voted for a Republican candidate. I would vote for Christie based on his honesty and willingness to take on the former (criminal) president.
Why not? I was a Republican back in GWB days. Now a registered Democrat but I will vote for a common sense Republican. Vote for what’s best for the country and issues of importance to you not along party line.
@@Eatshhhushi I like Christie too. He makes sense, but it’s a low bar. I’ve wrestled with the possibility of voting for a middle of the road, common sense Republican. What I continually have to remind myself is that they all betrayed their responsibility to the constitution and to basic truth by supporting Trump. Christie isn’t strong enough to wrestle them back from the precipice they are on. My conclusion is that I’ll listen, but will do nothing to empower them; it’s still a fight between democracy and would be authoritarianism. Here’s my other fear Christie does a better job showcasing Biden’s weaknesses as s leader rather than Trump’s and mutes Biden’s support on Election Day.
@@jamessanders145 no, you wouldn’t have had reason to quit being a Republican. I might have become a Republican. After Trump, though, I don’t know how you trust anyone on the Right with positions of power. They were all complicit as Trump raped this country and they still are. However, I do hope Christie somehow manages to bring the party back and get the nomination. I sure don’t want Trump or DeSantis anywhere near it.
Not at all. This is betrayal and stupidity at the highest levels, and conservative voters will never forgive this. But, we understand, liberal white-washing and tongue licking gets you more TV time on dying mainstream outlets.
I am a Democrat and I agree with you. Chris Christie is the best the GOP got right now as a candidate. I might vote for him if he is elected as a GOP presidential candidate.
I'm on the left and I agree. The number one reason that Joe Biden is president is because he is old and white and male and the party KNEW that they had to play those cards to shift votes from Trump. It sucks but it is what it is. Trump's an a-hole but Biden is -with all due respect to the man's career and position - WAY too old to be POTUS. Go retire with your hot GMILF wife, Joe!
I don't know yet if I have many or ANY policy agreements with CC but at least he seems sane...for now. He made a good showing on the CNN Town Hall. Don't underestimate him, he could crush on the debate stage.
Only one who has the balls to say it like it is . All other candidates , specially Ron wannabe trump De Satan don’t have the balls because he is afraid of trump and his nuts followers
I never liked this guy before but thank God a republican finally grew a pair and called trump out I love what you are saying. Keep up the good work. I love hearing someone that is smart instead of dumb trump comment's.
Where is this Republicans haven't stood against Trump crap coming from? I swear, you people on the left live in your own, warped reality. Jeb Bush, the late George HW, Dubya, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, his former VP Mike Pence, the late John McCain, I haven't heard any Dems criticize the senile old man in office outside of Robert Kennedy Junior.
This guy is going to be making some people think, on both sides. He has nothing to lose here so he's going for it. Let's not forget that he knew all about these things for 4 years, and stood by him.
Mclovin first of all you are so very disrespectful in criticizing the state of New Jersey. Chris Christie has no skeletons in his closet he is an honest man, husband, father, and excellent prosecutor never lost a case in state of New Jersey. Unlike Trump he admits when he makes mistakes. As for me 2012 speaker of the house stated Paul Ryan, believes Chris Christie is an excellent candidate to be president, he is a unique candidate who will attack Trump at a different angle that no one has ever done.
Christie could beat Biden and bring normal republicans back from the brink. I’m a left leaning voter but for all his sins, Christie is the straight talking smart republican the party needs. When he gets the chance to meet Trump face to face it’ll be one hell of a moment!
I made a comment saying nearly the same thing before reading any other comments, then noticed there are many people also saying the same thing. Very interesting to see.
Voters are emotionally invested in Trump, they can't bring themselves to admit they were wrong, partly because they don't feel they have a viable alternative that is not a rino, partly because of the none sense that Tucker and Hannity have spewed out
I'm a Democrat but this man is a true Republican who is worthy of consideration. We may differ on numerous issues, but a strong and honest debate with compromise is how it's supposed to work. I admire Governor Christie.
I've been researching more about Christie and his time as Governor. I like him. He's not a show boat or out here saying popular slogans to earn supporters and votes. I appreciate that. He is the most normal person running for President I've seen so far.
Chris Christie's fall from grace happened because of bridgegate, which was bad, but it was also pre-Trump, pre-Mueller, pre--COVID, and the type of scandal that the media wouldn't look twice at nowadays and the run of the mill corruption/mismanagement that Americans now just expect.
Trumps regulatory rollbacks, particularly with Dodd Frank, is what ultimately led to regulatory failure of Silicon Valley Bank, Signature Bank & First Republic Bank.
Best Chris Christie interview I've seen yet. Congrats PBS! Christie is the only hope for "RETURN TO NORMALCY" for the Republican Party. I look forward to seeing him in the debates.
Nordstream pipeline is the worst catastrophe to the climate in history caused by this administration... Obama just bought beach front property in Martha's Vinyard..
@@DynaCatlovesme I’m not American , I do have relatives who are American Republicans. It amazes me that despite the scientific proofs of climate change, they don’t believe in it (at least during the time we discussed the topic). The mere fact that Christie acknowledged the existence of the climate change at least gives hope that a possible Republican President will do something about this. Let’s face it, you Americans vote for your president but the whole world gets affected with the election outcome, whether with the climate, world economy, and order. And to watch what’s happening in your politics, may be amusing, but so worrisome at the same time.
This is how an interview should be conducted. Not asking a question then interrupting the answer as well as asking tough questions without being combative.
Read the book "Republican rescue", Christie for president! It seems to me he is the only republican candidate not afraid of Trump, have the courage to speak the truth about the Republican party.
Im a life long dem and would seriously vote for Christie over trump & Biden. Surprisingly he is not taken seriously but he should be he can pull from both parties.
Ive noticed that Democrats are willing to call out their party if they do something crazy. The Republicans will cover for their members no matter what. Even if they commit a serious crime in public, they will defend that person. To me that makes the Republican party irrelevant and any voter who looks at them and sees honor is just as bad as them. CC is the prime example. I think Margaret did a good job though.
Please mention a time when Dems have called out craziness on their side because they seem to be embracing the radical left without reservation. Trump has been called out by older Republicans without hesitation.
@@ricardocantoral7672they made Al Franken quit over a joke and the biggest one is Hillary Clinton losing in 2016. Trump only won because voters at that time thought he was the lesser of 2 evils and he loss in 2020 because he became the worst choice between him and Biden. Even now that you know he’s been charged with violating the espionage act, you guys still act like he did nothing wrong. It’s always someone else’s fault.
He’s solid and direct while being grounded and deeply experienced and respects the rule of law and institutions. Strength with humility and acknowledging his own faults positions him well. He has a backbone and a great sense of humor.
Just stumbled upon this channel, and subscribed. One question, why are all your videos 27min each? Good marketing, I’m sure it’s not the only reason but thought that was interesting and well organized. Thank you.

I am from Canada. I would vote for Mr. Christie if I live in the United States. His down to earth ways appeal to me the most. Best of luck to you Mr. Christie and more power in the future.
Get after it in a major way, Chris. No compromise, no holding back... We've got to get our country out of its madness downspiral. Many of us are going to choose you to do this. Don't underestimate who you're going to have to be to stand in that batter's box. It'll be against a weltering attack such as you've never been through... such as few, ever, have. Self loathing always lashes out blindly in its pain.
Chris Christie is a very exceptional politician! A person who can admit his mistakes outright in the public, speaks volume about his integrity. He is beyond a republican or democrat but a president for all American citizens.
The only thing Christie is coming for is the chow line! This is the guy so impotent with the media and the Bridgegate hoax a box of Viagra wouldn't have helped him. I never saw a guy so gutless as Paul Ryan in his VP debate with Biden but Christie was right there also with the media just a weasel totally scared and he allowed his poll numbers to go from 65% to 13% with his gutless act! Now with the lying media behind him suddenly a tough guy with Trump! I'll pass on this slob coward! I watched his coward act in NJ hiding under his desk as Rachel Maddow and company lied about him 24/7 and he did nothing! George Bush the same way with Obama who blamed him for everything and Bush was silent! A total coward but suddenly he found his voice with Trump! Chris Christie what a clown fraud coward. He had his chance to defend himself and fight back and lost his nuts!
Listen to what he's saying,, now he knows what's he's talking about, knowledge is power, and he speaks open and honestly, that's what I like about him, direct
As other commenters have written, I also am a lifelong Democrat, going so far as to not support a close friend who ran for office as a Republican...that being said, I don't go so far as to vote for a Democratic candidate just because of that fact...instead I support Democratic candidates that are fit for office... I have often listened to what Governor Chris Christie has said because, at least in old fashioned terminology, I like the cut of his job... what I just witnessed in this interview was, while typical of Christie, extremely refreshing, well thought out, and clearly displayed a no holds barred Republican candidate for the presidency...he doesn't mince words, freely admits mistakes, or even at a higher standard, accepts responsibility in the fashion of, "The buck stops here." If Christie makes it through this first battle, this being the expanding lineup of half steppers, liars, and unaccepting facts and truth types, Christie might just be the first Republican candidate I have ever supported...peter moralez...
With everything that is going on internationally, we need someone like Chris Christie. He is knowledgeable and articulate and he doesn’t back down. And he doesn’t make shit up.
If your not registered to vote in the Republican primary I have to ask….why not? Don’t you care who wins that race? Exercise your right to vote your opinion. Christy is saying what needs to be said. Only one that will respect whatever the court’s decision is and won’t waste our money giving pardons. I am ready to vote for him.
Chris Christie is honest and sincere. He tells it like it is and does not mince words. The 🇺🇸 USA needs a leader that can really lead this nation in 2024. Chris Christie has my vote in 2024😊👍❣️
Never watch him, but I think the he is sincere, knowledgeable in all aspects of the law, he's paid his dues, what makes him great, is that he's a leader that listens to the American people and his staff, now let's give him a chance, yes he's made minor mistakes but he's always willing to make things better,, again in order to be a great leader you need to learn to listen.. that you Mr. Christy and you'll have my vote,, be all you can be, take care of the veterans as well as the American people, God first in all you do, love to here you speak,, probably the only ive heard to,,, when giving a direct question, you give a direct answer, and that's what the American people wants to here and know,, 100,# thank you for your service #1.
What Christie has to answer for is his long support for Trump. He supported him in 2016 and 2020. Trump's character flaws were on full display before he ever ran for President. Christie's not blind. He saw them but he decided it was in his own best interest to overlook them. I can't stand Trump and I hope he's jailed because he's so bad but I don't trust Christie either especially when he laughably claims he's a "good judge of character".
