Cornell stated in a 1996 interview: "I know what it feels like to be suicidal, and I know what it feels like to be hopeless. There is some point where I learnt enough about myself to know that I don't have the tolerance to create other hurdles as well. In 1999, Cornell said the following about depression: No one really knows what run-of-the-mill depression is. You'll think somebody has run-of-the-mill depression, and then the next thing you know, they're hanging from a rope. It's hard to tell the difference. But I do feel that depression can be useful. Sometimes it's just chemical. It doesn't seem to come from anywhere. And whenever I've been in any kind of depression, I've over the years tried to not only imagine what it feels like to not be there, but try to remind myself that I could just wake up the next day and it could be gone because that happens, and not to worry about it. And at the same time, when I'm feeling great, I remember the depression and think about the differences in what I'm feeling and why I would feel that way, and not be reactionary one way or the other. You just have to realize that these are patterns of life and you just go through them. - SLEEP WELL BROTHER.
This is the best version of Billie Jean that I've ever heard. I like Chris's cover even better than the original. What a powerhouse voice he had. This thing is packed full of intense raw, gritty emotion that the original simply did NOT have. Wow.
Interesting cover but doesnt touch the original to me. I like his nothing compares 2 u much better and dont think that is better than sineads version either but these cornell covers are excellent
Musical genius, intelligent,Chris Cornell was also known to be an extremely kind and generous person and lastly, he was ridiculously hot\sexy\Handsome . So heartbreaking, Chris you are loved and missed, thank you for the music.
He obviously knows what this means. This is now his song. So true. I will always remember this as something more than a pop song. I will truly miss him.
Just watched this same song by this fantastic guy. He was all scruffy hair all over. Now in this vid he's just adorably cute. Rest my love be at peace. I saw him in canada shortly before he died.
After hearing about his death, Alice Cooper stated: Chris Cornell, in our circle, was known as 'The Voice' because he had the best voice in rock and roll. I was lucky enough to write and record two songs with him.
