WOW! That’s a good boat! I’d be worried about the locks and it getting scuffed/ banged up. I admire your positive attitude, yes a boat will show up for you all.

There are CC Commanders and Constellations in the 40-50' range running around the northwest. Might be a good after-loop boat. The key for long term upkeep is covered moorage. As a former owner and veteran of major repair efforts, it's the rain that does the most damage.

Our first boat was a 29' Steel Clipper by Inland Seas. Great boat, built in Sandusky, Ohio. Roamers came in both steel and aluminum. We had one surveyed and I can't remember why our surveyor said stay away from it, I know it was something with the hull but it was that particular model/year and most are fine. He was on the boat for 10 minutes, as we talked with seller's broker. He came out, pulled us aside and said, if we stop the survey right now I won't charge you as I have another one in the area but my recommendation is to walk away. We did. a year later we had him survey the boat we still own and love.

We heard of one similar story on a roamer where a surveyor put his hand through a hull the seller had no idea was compromised.

I see old fiberglass Chris Craft Commanders going by my place on the ICW occasionally. I think they are about 47' long. Would one of those work for you?

Thanks! For whatever reason, Chris Craft had some odd layouts. To get us 3 staterooms, it usually takes the Conny 500’s or 501. The slightly smaller ones just don’t seem to be layed out for us as a family.
