The most interesting fact about Chris D'Elia's comedy is that he starts laughing at the new joke that pops into his head, and then you have to wait for him to share it with you. His random laughs at his own jokes are truly funny.
*opinion* Tho it is the process, Robin used to laugh first, the thoughts in the 1000's vs what comes out the mouth 😉 Agreed, tis genious. (Williams named in analogy to describe comic process not in comparison to comic discussed)
I agree that’s a charming part of his act and he does it well. I’m glad somebody mentioned it instead of it just floating in my head amongst the rest of my insecure thoughts.
@@juicemayne Dude got caught sending texts to minors and then kinda grooming them to have sex with them at 18 years old. He got caught in I believe june and hasnt been active since.
Chris is someone whose personality is way funnier than his jokes. I've always preferred him talking and joking with the crowd instead of his actual material.
It’s very possibly a set up because it’s a brilliant bit. It’s not a shameful thing to do for a comedian, it’s like any sketch show or anything else. It’s still funny so who cares
@@sherpaint no he was just super uncomfortable that the attention was focused on him so smiling using teeth would seem even faker and make it even more obvious that he's embarrassed.
This is what the definition of "crowd work" is. We all got so lost in the story of Costa and Vasteelios and were laughing too hard to forget about anything else going on. Master at work; wish he'd get more headlines and have other people doing this for him so he can have every gut busted in the room for an hour
I think it's very prepared... Like a psychic, there's only so many scenarios that you can go through in your head before they become commonalities with what people remark on.
@@robertsaladino "triggered to think" :D jeez. But yes, it's great how D'Elia prepared a bit about a guy named 'Costa', just in case there was that dude in the audience. A mark of a true professional.
@@robertsaladino Yeah, it's all showbiz... in showbiz, we also have this crazy thing called "improvisation". Popular among actors, jazz musicians and stand-up comics, for example. "Cold reader psychic" XD
Anyone who sleeps on or hates on Chris D'elia should watch this. He's a comedic genius. Fuckin heavyweight Black Belt Champ right here improv-ing his entire set with the highest level of crowd work. If anyone ever asks me what I think the best Crowd Work set is online, its this video right here. He kills it. I was cracking up and dying.
Lao Tzu well, if you think this is good, you clearly wasn't paying attention to Robin's special. This was horrible, the guy laughs at his own joke attempts, its pathetic...
untill i saw this video, i had NO idea that greek names sounded hot or sexy to people outside greece. i was like "okay he is kosta and his is vasilios" while the audience is whooping or some shit xD the more you know
Chris does both equally good. its just that this seem to portray more of his own charecter then a made up set. (Thats what I think atleast, I dont know the dude)
Kate Gr He said it the first time but I think he added the t for the joke. I knew straight away he was Greek, Greeks have super attractive sounding names so do the French , Spanish and Italians 😍😍😍
I like his off the cuff work better than his written stuff. His specials are good, but this is much better to me. I love his podcast too. Dude is genuinely hilarious.
one of the funniest and most underappreciated comics around. i listen to comedy while i drive and hes one of those comics that makes me laugh so hard its dangerous for other drivers
Yo, have you listened to ten minute podcast? If you haven't and you like Chris you'll LOVE it but be sure not to listen to it while driving because you will die hahaha. Edit: I'm always listening to stand up and comedians, still, the hardest i've ever laughed in my life was listening to a ten minute podcast episode.
I think he is pretty genius. Not the high-brow kind of ‘genius’, but his ability to work crowds and do sets off the top of his head is pretty astounding
Chris D'Elia looks like he was supposed to OD like 10 years ago. He looks like he told his girlfriend to buy something nice, gave her 10 dollars and said, "I said something nice, not something expensive." He's actually really funny I'd catch one of his shows here in NY anytime.
6:33... I am holding my glass bottle Stella beer in my hand, impressed with that Vasilios name, and just so randomly a guy lifts his Stella to the camera haha epic
Every freakin time some dude wrotes the same damn comment you've seen a thousand times on every RU-vid channel. "Till this day this guy is still blablabla" Its not funny okay!
OH MY GOD MY HUSBAND & I ARE LISTENING TO THIS RIGHT NOW & I SWEAR TO GOD THE MOST INSANE BOLTS OF LIGHTNING LIT UP THE WHOLE SKY LIKE SNAKES AS SOON AS HE SAID Vastilios😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Amazing ability to just go off on whatever pops into his head and to make it hilarious at the same time is something truly special. This guy has it. 😂👏👏👏
