I met my husband when I was 24 and he was 40. 21 years later we are still happily married with two almost grown kids. Truly, I had to find a guy that age to find one ready to settle down. All the guys my age wanted to party and step out.
It's not about the age, it's usually the imbalance in money and finances. One person marrying into money doesn't always end well because jealousy and greed will develop if it hadn't already when they were just dating. One dates for money, the other just wants companionship.

My grandparents had a 17 year gap! My grandmother had a crush on him since she was 15. They never spoke alone because it was the olden days so he was super polite plus he didn’t notice her she was just the farmer nexts doors daughter who stared at him too much. she tried getting his attention for 10 years and finally when she was 25 he married her. It was actually really sweet he was insecure because he had a limp and was very shy and she was out going and basically did anything she could to get him. They were married until he died, she was in her sixties and never married again. They had five children and a lovely life together

Men prefer youth and beauty because the core "caveman" part of the brain that drives men to want to reproduce and younger women are commonly accepted as being more fertile. Women are a little more complex but, by and large women general go toward old men for quite a few reasons. Their is that "cave women" part that sees old men as being better able to protect them. You also have the fact that older men are generally more stable both emotionally and financially. The few times women will go for a guy younger than themselves it is generally a purely physical relationship.

My daddy was 16 years older than my mom. Their marriage was so happy and healthy that I never heard them argue. I'm certain they did, but I literally never heard it happen. They set an EXCELLENT, ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING example for me as far as what a healthy, loving, successful relationship/marriage looks like and should be. When my daddy died they had been happily married for 23 years. My mom has been married twice since, and she still confides in family that my dad was her soulmate; that no one will ever love her like he did and vice versa.

Think of the voting age this way, as time progresses so does technology and technicality. With each generation, there is more to learn about the modern world. Kids in the 1800s became adults when they started running the plow at 15. They were young men with the knowledge they needed for the times. Contrast that to today where we have technology fractalizing on a daily basis. In actualality it mean with each progressive generation, our children are getting older. A 20-year-old today is at a relative maturity level of a 15-year-old of the 1800s.
Chris has said in interviews that he wants to settle down and have a family, so of course he would marry a younger woman who has time to have kids rather than a woman who is in their 40s and can’t (or shouldn’t) have kids. Women do have an expirations date and that is when all their eggs have gone and menopause starts which on avg happens around 40-45 and someone’s mid to late 30s in some special cases. Whereas men don’t stop producing sperm, the count drops so the possibility is still there. I believe earlier last year and or this year an 83 yr old man impregnated a young woman. Just as women have menopause some men have the issue of ED but that doesn’t mean he can’t impregnate a woman. Might want to double check the scientific research and studies, because you’re wholly disregarding biology and also the risks involved. A woman having a child in her 40s is high risk and considered a geriatric pregnancy which means additional complications. So for “ideal” results it’s best to go with someone in the prime birthing window if you want more than 1 child, less complications and a “big” family.

Men produce lower sperm counts as they get older and in general, fertility begins to decline for men when they're in their late 40s. Sperm mobility for men is best at 25 and the lowest as they get older even at the age of 55 so, aging for men can affect the quality of their sperm including concentration, the motility, the shape making it harder to fertilize an egg. Men have general abnormalities with sperm, erectile dysfunction and changes in the reproductive tissues and organs, sperm disorders, varicoceles even hormones leading to poor growth and more so men would need to get up to date with medication or a surgery. If you truly educated yourself and looked it up doing proper research, it's more common with women having more kids in their 30s, 40s and 50 so with older men not Chris Evans though lol with other older men using that excuse to prey upon young women thst are literal children to excuse their minds and behaviors is weird as fuck.
