yeah u r talking about that fake league who has corrupted the whole cricketing world ? who made cricketers so rich that they are now worry about league matches rather than their own country
Those who say Chris Gayle is only a hitter, remember this guy has a brilliant average of 42, & over 7000 runs in test cricket. He can play most of the classical shots also, and has played against class bowlers of his generation. He could have reached 10k test runs had it not been for WICB dispute. Could have been a test legend too.
Absolutely true you see cricket this game is so unfortunate & lucky that the time showed his cruel supremacy over this game in such a way that in such a whirlwind every good thing got decimated.
@@allanmas3638 Gayle in his prime even destroy Brett Lee... Brett is average bowler? Nope mate, he is modern shoib akhtar too... both are very close.... like 99.5% to 100%..so close
@@adamryan5682 but 4 wc r with Aus destroying n wining its a huge difference he would destroy but 80% always on the losing side pity nobody else matches him to ensure WI victories ...😂😂...
Was ok for RC but would fail when it mattered the most what use is such talent n sixes king pandya much better choice clicks when needed the most greats like virat Rohit Sharma failed in wc semis as always vs Aus in past n now vs NZ..
I don't know why nobody keeps this man in their all time XI. For me he is my opener in any format along with gilly. What a player man.. legend at entertaining the crowd. We will surely miss this great.
He can't be opener along with Gilly.Either him or Gilly or Jayasuriya and the other opener should be Sachin,Gibbs or Brendon Mccollon ..Left and Right Combination ...
@@Rockey736 why he can't be an opener with Gilly ??? Right and left hand combination is not mandatory. Aus with Gilly and haydos opening combination went on to win two worldcups.
@@AJ-jc7sl Aus won the wc 's due to many reasons..They are the best team then and also have a fantastic captain ie Ponting..Hayden and Gilchrist were the best and no body were close in Australian team that time.Thats why they kept them.Left and Right hand combination is not mandatory but very ideal for openers. For world eleven there are plenty of options, lot of good players,So you have to keep them..Even my favorite openers are Gilly,Gayle, Jayasuriya and Gibbs though Sachin and Hayden are the consistent. In my 11 I will keep Gibbs and Gayle. Will take Gilly also but down 6 or 7..
@@Rockey736 yes Australia has many factors to win the worldcup, but the start Gilly and haydos gave wonderful starts in both the worldcups and also they've literally single handedly won so many matches for Australia. So I believe Gilly and Gayle should go in if one gets to have a good start then the match is over for the opponents
I met CHG in 2004...went up to him & clapped him on his upper arm...know how it felt? Have you ever kicked a car's tire?! & as we would say in the Caribbean - mi nah joke!
Chris Gayle is not only a six slasher, but he can also bat elegantly too, those two bowlers where two of the greatest fast bowler of the day, but Chris got the better of them this time., Chris also has two triple Century in test too, he is one of the greats.
You are saying as if no one made half century against these two bowlers, if you want to see the great batsman then see their consistency, not a single match. Gayle was one of the best but not because his performance was good in this match but he consistently performed well most of the time
@@everydayappleuser ..Its really the scintillating manner in which he got the runs, he couldn't carry on like that for the whole innings against these two fine bowler though, that's why he got out. Akhtar has one of the best bowling action ever seen by a fast bowler, I love t watch him.
One of the favorite thing in Gayle is his eyes So calm and composed, As if he has come to bat after a big nap ( sleep) Such a legendary batsman and jovial personality
Is anyone noticed Gayle Batting style is completely different from now.. Before he face every ball He hold his bat in the ground in this video. Now he keep in the air.
I remember watching Chris batting in those days, I was like around 16 that time 2003, when WI playing Gayle is all I want to see bat and Lara who is the Lord of the runs, Sarwan and Chanderpaul. when Gayle hit are ball for are boundary or maximum boy you can see the Power and the Strength of that man unbelievable. And in those days we really needed that kind of player to come there and just bat against any team in the world, Chris Gayle is the Greatest batsman the world have ever seen in all 3 formats, just check his career me just want to say big up to the Universe boss world boss JAH Bless nuff Respect.............
Chris is the only boss of cricket who only knows how to smash 😂. He is least bothered about speed, swing, turn, pitch. He knows I am Gayle and says who cares who is at the bowling end.
Chris Gayle absolutely massacred Waqar and Shoaib... Only 3 batsmem have thrashed these 2 bowlers in their prime so mercilessly....Gilchrist, Gayle and Tendulkar😎
Wavell Hinds was a great opening partner for Gayle that time. If these two stand for a long innings, game over for the opponents. As you see, he literally stands in the next pitch and walks in a bit giving a lot of space for Chris to hit straight. That powerful smash back to bowler's end is one of his favorite shots, that will rattle any bowler and they will never bowl such ball to him ever again. 😅
srikanth s Waqar was in his retiring days and gayle was in his prime ... Waqar in his prime would have eaten Gayle up his toes would have been crushed lol
Read my comment once again and understand what exactly I mentioned. Even Waqar on his retiring days, it is difficult for anyone to score against great Pakistani bowling attack but in this match Gayle accepted the challenge and smashed Waqar like just any other bowler.... That is why I quoted him as "one of the great bowler with impressive strike rate", any one can take wicket but if you take wicket with impressive strike rate should be applauded...I am an Indian and always fan of Wasim Akram (both on and off the field), waqar, Mohammad Yousuf, Inzamam (I like him to the core) and the greatest Imran Khan....I strongly believe arts and sports does not boundaries, either an artist or the sportsmen can be liked by anyone around the world.....
Waqar was only 31 in this match..... due to pcb mismanagement he retired at age of 32... otherwise he could have played till 2007 world cup.... poorly managed by pcb also saqlain retired at 28...
The great Viv Richards would have been very impressed ... also reminds me of the magnificent Alvin Kalicharan carving the Aussies all around the park in the 1975 World Cup in England.
@@loveandpeace9970 You mean this is excuse a fast bowler at the verge of retirement, not an avg fast bowler supreme fast bowler smacked for a six by a young bloke and you ll make fun of him lol actually you can cause you people never had fast bolwers how come you know they get injuries
Wow, thats way long down the memory lane. Also the espn music. Time when cricket was played in Pakistan. Great example of how terrorism and supporting them can do to a nation
Wat a knock! Blew the wind out of the Pak attack. Waqar Younis got such a smashing, he was at his wits end. Kudos to Shoiab too. He stuck with it n finally got his man Cricket teaches us so many things both as a batsman and as a bowler.
It is amazing how batsmen like Gayle & Sehwag prospered against such a quality Pakistan bowling unit. Both had almost no foot movement & heavily relied on hand-eye coordination. At least Gayle had a perceived weakness against offspin. Sehwag had spinners for breakfast.
Gayle wanted to teach speedy a lesson or let's say he wanted to give speedy the taste of his own medicine. Well honestly that day , that moment , that session , that second would have had been something special when Gayle realised that what exactly he is in real a one hell of a special talent & he simply mastered it on several occasions & cemented his own legacy in this worldwide played sport.
No doubt, Chris Gayle has same WI legacy of batting style inherited by batsmen of Clive Lloyd era...aggressive and fearless, unstoppable, unsurpassable, unbelievable. Only these WI players have the quality that can counter Pakistani fast bowlers, Waseem, Waqar, Shoaib, etc with equal force and dominance.
Gayle did this to brett lee as well my binga he has played some of the tough ones against our nation.only when McGrath was there our nation was untouchable in cricket
