Chris having him move to the other bed was a total interrogation technique. The interrogator purposefully sits between the suspect and the door in order to make the suspect think they can't leave without getting through the person interrogating them. Chris has all the interrogation methods.

“I knew this was a sting” is equivalent to “I knew it was too good to be true.” Just makes my damn skin crawl

I miss when the predators get to stroll in and embarrassingly attempt to flirt for a minute before Hansen swoops in.

Seeing Chris Hansen this old is sad reminder that these kinds of people will never go away. It's just really disappointing.

It's truly terrifying how many men on To Catch a Predator suspected that the whole thing was a sting/setup, but they go to the house anyway. It's terrifying because their compulsion to be with young girls/boys is so uncontrollable that they're willing to show up for a hookup, even when their intuition is telling them that something is sketchy.

I think it was stupid to get the show cancelled in the first place. These are disgusting and dangerous people that should not be out and about. Glad Chris brought the show back. Best news of 2023 yet. Edit: there's so many comments that say the same thing about why the show was cancelled. Yes, I'm aware, I watch Ken's videos. I just can't find it in my heart to care about this kind of person enaugh to agree the show was rightfully cancelled.

A lot of people just freeze up because they know they are guilty and they completely forget they legally don't have to say anything and can get a lawyer. They just try to worm their way out through other lies.

I love how they always try to use the "I have my lesson now" as if it would allow them to walk away like nothing happened hahaha

8:24 I don't think Chris made a mistake here. He often says the age of the victim wrong in order to have the predator correct him and verbally admit that they knew the age. So in this scenario, he wanted the victim to correct him and say "5 years younger" which would act as proof that this guy knew that the victim was underage.

Twice he's been cancelled. Twice he came back. It's official. Chris Hansen is Batman.

I was a victim of grooming and childhood sexual abuse and incest. I also work in street intervention. The dead look of not being surprised anymore that Chris has, I get that - nothing shocks me anymore and it's disheartening and depressing and disappointing

There’s something so depressing about Chris just being so used to this whole thing. Like I know he has gotta be used to it by this point but it really hits when Chris is just so numb to it because after all these years of doing this stuff nothing has changed.

When my husband and I were corrections officers, we used to tell our friends this. "Its hard spending 8-12 hours a day dealing with murderers, thiefs, child molesters, and other criminals AND THEN have to worry about the ones that are convicted." :'D

It's kinda silly, but I do legitimately feel safer knowing Chris Hansen is back out there, putting these people away. Man is like a super hero, fighting evil at its root.

Chris Swanson is probably the best Sheriff that Flint and Genesee County as a whole has had in recent memory. He's done so much to try to clean up our streets and keep our kids safe. He really is a good guy

I always hear different things from law enforcement regarding arresting these guys. I’ve heard “we can’t arrest them because technically they were speaking with a 30 year old male so there’s no crime” but onnnn the other hand, Chris Hansen is having people arrested left right and center for the exact thing. 🧐

"Have a seat over there" is a classic technique for interrogation. Obviously he's trapping him in the room by blocking his view of the door and making them feel weaker.

I work as a corrections officer, new guy, been on the floor for a couple weeks now. I can attest that there are some people you might not expect to be in there. On one of my shifts I was in a segregation housing unit where they put the more societally dangerous inmates in, and I found out the owner of a popular nail salon in our town's mall was there for possessing CP. I hadn't even known though, since our town's newspaper shutdown during the pandemic.

Dang this one was wild. Chris Hansen got so good with his verbal kung fu over the years. This dude being a corrections officer is also insane.

The problem is that most of the cases I've heard from in my area, the parents are offering their children to strangers and they even help keeping it a secret. Those are the worst, and most difficult to catch. It's absolutely disgusting, and the greatest betrayal from the victim's perspective. :/ I will never understand these people, and how far they can go to justify their acts and make up excuses.

If you're inherently a good person, you most definitely do NOT get a warped sense of right and wrong if you're a correctional officer. Both my Grandpa and my dad retired from being correctional officers and they are/ were the most good and honest people I've ever met.

The fact that Chris Hansen was able to get all this info when working as a deputize citizen police is crazy. Keep in mind the suspect was already read his rights so Chris was doing an interrogation and not once did the suspect thought well maybe I should shut up. I'm so glad this show is back on. I absolutely loved "To Catch a Predator" and honestly, I find it fascinating how these monsters operate. I'm a huge true crime junkie, and my favorite part of those types of shows is when they dive into the killer's phycology, their mental state, their ideals, beliefs, etc. The other Chris is absolutely right, predators, killers; they all crave for the high they get from the acts of violence they commit. They will do anything to re-create the feeling they had during their first offense, which is why most sexual predators and pedophiles, are repeat offenders. You guys remember the episode on TCAP (Ken & Buff reviewed it), where the second the man walks in, he bolts for the decoy? She tells him that she will be there in a minute, and he almost chases her through the doorway before Chris steps out to stop him. He was 100% a repeat offender, and someone who had experience in that "area of expertise". Repeat offenders either had weapons, tape, rope, a camera, or some kind of paraphernalia that would insinuate capturing, harming, or raping a child. These people are the scum of the earth, but I love studying their behavior and watching them get tazed. Go Chris!

Hi, Ken! Lawyer here. Miranda Rights don't apply here, and they do not have the right to ask for an attorney YET. Miranda Rights may be invoked during arrest and when the person is under custodial investigation. The most they can do is shut up, evade questions, and wait until a custodial investigation is initiated. It's important to evade questions and not admit anything because, since this is not a form of custodial investigation, anything you say, WITH OR WITHOUT the assistance of counsel, may be used in evidence against you. If this were a custodial investigation, the predator can argue that his statements are not admissible in evidence, because he was not given an attorney and was not asked to put anything in writing.

Chris interviewing after the arrest and Miranda's is a pretty bold move, but I'm shocked that the results are still the same. I've watched too many JCS videos to be this surprised.

As cathartic as it is to watch Chris go at the predators as aggressively as he did, I'm worried that the defense can get the interview as evidence thrown out for being coercive. Unless the prosecutor isn't even using the interviews if the chats and sting are enough to prosecute, then I'll happily watch Chris be as aggressive as he wants 😊

I love that this show is exposing these people but at the same time I feel that there's some side effects that happen afterwards, like the impact that affects their families. Many of these guys have kids, sisters and brothers. And believe it or not, but many of them get bullied for the mistakes of these guys and people start putting the whole family in one category. We had a neighbour that was arrested years ago for similar actions, and his children were bullied because of it all the time by other kids until the family moved and left the whole state. Society need to learn that every person is responsible for his own action and that collective punishment will make things worse.

Finally a sentence that makes sense for a case like this! I swear if they up the prison time that one would have to serve for being found guilty of these crimes I think it would deter a lot of people that are just quote on quote curious.

I’m gonna be so honest. I had a manager who got caught on a “take a seat” wanna be show that some dudes on RU-vid were doing. It was terrible. A lot of us got super sketch vibes from him, but to SEE someone you KNOW talk like this is so horrifying.

My mom actually knows Chris Swanson. She does animal rescue and has been on calls with him. He's an amazing Sheriff. Actually cares about the people he's sworn to protect. He also cares abou helping animals. Hense why he's called my mom when they have animals at crime scenes and such
