The Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 is a rare modern classic supercar, and even more special among those are cars fitted with the hallowed ‘X88’ power package. You can therefore imagine the buzz among our team in bringing to market not only one of these remarkable performance cars, but the example belonging to 2009 Formula One World Champion, Jenson Button.
Jenson’s Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 was originally a special order for the Sultan of Brunei, equipped at the factory with the ‘X88’ power package that boosts output to 380bhp. It is the only X88 package car painted in the eye-catching Horizon Blue colour, while the interior is trimmed in Marine Blue leather.
The interior specification includes electrically adjustable comfort seats, a matching leather-trimmed airbag steering wheel, air conditioning, and sliding sunroof. The car wears the correct set of polished 18-inch split-rim Speedline alloy wheels, and remains original and unmodified.
Fresh from a full service at classic car specialist Tudor & Black, this Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 ‘X88’ is also covered by a clean current MOT certificate, and is running and driving superbly.
Bidders can see the car on the move in this video that introduces this rare 911 Turbo, where ‪@ChrisHarrisonCars‬ gets behind the wheel to deliver his verdict on this uniquely finished 964-generation car.
While any Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 is a sought-after collector car, this ‘X88’ power package-equipped supercar is an especially rare machine, and is a true one-off in the stunning hue of Horizon Blue Metallic. The auction is expected to attract strong interest from Porsche collectors around the world, and with the car offered at ‘No Reserve’ it will be selling to the highest bidder.

Amazing how every car they feature on the channel for sale is brilliant. Who knew, the 964 is suddenly Harris's favourite 911! Well, until he does a video on a different 911, then that will be the best. Even the awful turbo lag is a positive. Ker-ching! The reality? This is not a great driver's car, and how it drives is in any case irrelevant as it won't be bought to be driven. It's got too few miles. It'll be bought to be possessed for possession's sake, perhaps with an eye to financial return, but not with much if any genuine intention to use it as a car.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all gas station fuel pumps in the EU from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions- and smoke crime :-( :-(

Permit me a chuckle for the modern vehicle. I’m fortunate enough to have an AMG GLA45 which damn near hits the spot on similar power (375hp). I’ve had classic bikes and know the sheer wallet emptying delight of owning “old stuff”. This I’m sure would lead you down a very similar path. The Porsche looks great, can’t carry the detritus of modern life and may well have to be ground anchored to your air conditioned garage to keep the “Bad Boys” at bay. I’ll keep the shopping trolley rocket and admire Chris’s wonderful commentary for a vehicle I have no wish to own. But maybe that Citroen Mehari for the summer, now there’s a thought…..

Three gentlemen. Learned friend Harris has some humor, but I doubt there would be any sitcom in there. The other two have their occasional joke that render them dry to the point you'd think their male output comes in powder. With collectibles, there will not be doughnuts or burnt rubber, like in this video, and it becomes a rather nerdy thing. That's not a value judgment, I might like it, as I do like the YT work of each of these. What hangs over these ideas is the shadow of one uncivilized brutal loudmouth punk who thought that his celeb status gave him more freedom in the social behavior and ethics arena than is acceptable in the real world. Mainly funny situations because of the antisocial core. These three you mention are not going to even try to copy that old format, good for them. Nor do I see them stoop to Benny Hill or Carry On levels attempted at incidentally by the original fab three of Bottoms Up Gear - what was it called again?

Because the 911 is the poor man's 928. Sorry - I gotta call balls and strikes. the 928 was European "Car" of the Year 1979. No other sports car including the 911 has ever won "Car" of the year. The 928 has won 2 production car land speed record at Bonneville (1986 and 2020) - the 911 has exactly won none. Even 911 enthusiast Magnus Walker has started his 928 collection - its Now or Never for the 928 still the biggest bang for the buck in Porsche's line up.

3:11 Not the "comfort seats" … that's a crumpled leather appearance, these are sport bolstered electric seats with manual slider. btw. the shifter boot is not original (or it's a tequipment or bespoke piece) it's odd that this is a cassette dash in 1994 (the CD was normal) and the parking brake is correctly adjusted (the lever was a stamped metal shape that was weak and would bend towards the driver, this car is obviously very low miles and not driven other than for pleasure.) the rear wiper was no-cost optional delete and the cars with the delete option are prized over the cars with the hole in the rear glass and the enormous box housing the wiper motor. I don't know about the EU/UK/EMEA markets, but the twin tip pipes were reserved for the turbo S, so I wonder if this turbo 3.6 X88 got the twin tips in that kit always or just in some cases. All in all, a literal 1 of 1 vehicle for the money-no-object collector. Me, car for car, I'd take the 964 RS and love its manual steering and narrow-hipped 282 hp all the more, but in its day, the turbo 3.6 was the Godzilla of Porsches … nobody could imagine a more outrageously over the top "nothing exceeds like excess" supercar. I remember being at the track watching one cold start and raw fuel dripping out the exhaust in blue, flumes of fury … the owner had already removed the cats and brought it to the track with no delay! What an inspiring machine and at the unobtanium price of "over $100,000!" … now, they're 10 times that much and literally unobtanium because nobody is selling. : )

Lag is desirable in this and Ferrari F40. But gobs of torque low, no lag, and high revving turbo is best of both worlds. Even up to 2017 BMW turbo engines run out at 5500RPM like a diesel, which was the cost of low lag, that's not very nice either.

new 911s have such a high back, this is so much better and infinitely more beautiful

Sporty cars of this era and previous decades mature into stunning charm and majestic characer comparing to their current equivalents shouting out egoistic look@me self-importance and histeric greed for over-equiped trims of must-have gadgets..... For business trips you want fast comfort, for sunday ride you want st. simple and purely mechanic like this Porsche and for daily family life just a tool that is trasportion solution on wheels itself. Todays SUVs which are supposed to be all together ... it is just overpriced nonsense.... Only man of no taste wants wine stewed lamb, grilled steak and brocollli cream pasta in one plate....

964---the least desirable 911 in memory flogged as gold dust for a sale. Chris now reminds me of Jeremy's final phase; black is white, slow is fast etc. Ridiculously funny. Yet sad!

I have to agree with him on most if not all points....ALTHOUGH....just seen his recent interview with official Porsche Amercoa where he singles this out as his least favourite and worst 911 of all time. I am confused.

Looking at cars from the last decade I am left thinking what is it that cars are missing today? Because they don’t look like this anymore … that goes for Honda Toyota bmw Mercedes…. What was it about cars from the 80-03

So this is the car that Harris said was his worst Porsche driving experience during his interview with the PCA... he is right that it's fabulous to look at though.

The 964 is the best looking 911 in my opinion 👌🏼 Huge regrets not buying one a decade ago when they were reasonable money 😔
