2000hp vs 800hp, what did you expect? If we consider a 2000hp Nissan GTR, it 100-200 2.4s and 200-300 3.52s vs Nevera 100-200 in 2.59s and 200-300 in 4,81s, just to make u realise that the value is almost only in the 2000hp. Nevera vs Aventador SVJ is an unequal comparison
@@4mori77 Where do they sell 2000hp Nissan GTR's? Oh, and have they manage to make one yet that doesn't blow up on the second run? Comparing this to what is essentially a ruined one trick pony ricer is a much more ridiculous comparison than the Aventador SVJ. The point wasn't that it managed to beat the Lambo, the point was that Rimac's second production car makes one of the fastest cars Lambo has ever made, look like a Prius.
@@4mori77 I guess what I meant was, I knew the Rimac would win, i didnt however expect it to be THAT much of a difference. I dont look at the Lambo as a "slow" car, but the way it was passed makes it look like a 4cyl family sedan. I guess that was where I was going with that.
@@TheSaltyAdmiral Look like a Prius? No it looks, sounds and drives like a Lambo. It crossed the line what a second or two later? Exaggeration overload.
@@06mateusz12 Is that road legal though? I think the clarifying factors in "Worlds fastest car" are in production and available to buy, and fully road legal.
@06mateusz12 if you open the competition up too wide, you have to include top fuel dragsters, which can get to 60 before the back tires cross the point where the front tires started.
7:23 this scene, when you see the lone Lamborghini, then that monster enters the bottom of the shot and the music hits, and its just eating up the ground and then just literally passes the lambo like it's standing still, that has got to be the best scene of any top gear episode. Goose bumps.
I first saw the Rimac tested against the Ferrari SF90, It was an absolute beat down the acceleration of the Rimac was in a level of its own.. I saw another video that was just super fast cars accelerating. I didn't recognize one of the cars, but it was FAST! I asked in the comments what car it was... SF90.
@@Iffy50 the SF90 is bloody fast being one of the relative new kids on the block. I still hold the P1 and 918 Spyder is high esteem, though they will take as equal a hammering against the Nevera. That car is now long gone into the future and I don't think anything else is about to catch it. Just look at that drift with full power sent to all 4 wheels obliterating the tyres which has now become a norm in the test runs by journalists and enthusiasts. With Porsche taking a bite into the Rimac pie and Rimac having Bugatti for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it will be exciting times to see how these other brands evolve in sharing or developing tech with each other.
The camerawork from the second SVJ race is nothing short of spectacular, like a cheetah pouncing on a gazelle. I can't remember the last time a drag race video left me with goosebumps, an agape mouth, and a frightened toddler because I randomly yelled "WHAT?!?!". Truly fantastic work.
I guess you cannot get any higher praise for a car and car maker as from Chris Harris himself "Mr. Rimac - you are my kind of guy"! What a wonderful car.
I replayed this way TOO MANY TIMES! No other car video has made me smile this much. My fantasy car used to be the Bugatti Veyron, but now, this is my King. Can't wait to see what they do with the Nevera 2.
And then some futuristic magnetocaloric air conditioner made in-house at the Rimac factory. :) JK, but who knows, that company has technology years ahead of any other EV or supercar company.
That moment at 7:23, when you se Lambo in distance pulling away, and then Nevera comes from bottom of a frame hurling like a bullet and you instantly realize it will catch Lambo with a ease... goosebumps all over! 😲😲😲😲
@@mikaeljonsson4686 I've owned 5 x EVs, 3 at the moment, and you have no foundation for your claim as you have never owned one, and I doubt you have even driven one. "No soul" is absolute bullshit, EVs are just the same as any ICE car, some have huge amounts of character, and some are dead wood, and all the levels inbetween.
Nico Rosberg also was pretty impressed by the Nevera he was helping in very first prototype tests and latter invited by Mate Rimac himself in Croatia, to do more testings with a pre -production Nevera with all software up-dates, and for last test Nico was so impressed to the point he actually got one..
@@cesarocon3401 100% true, I was thinking about modern cars. He acts the same way in all the restomods he drives, which says a lot about this electric hypercar's fun factor.
@Narrow Is The Way 🤦 'The joy of such self-righteousness statements is astounding! Bless you! I'm sure many were saved by your self-righteous judgment! You can love Jesus and cars too!
7:16 The standing mile with the SVJ 300 meters ahead and the Nevera let alone catching the SVJ AND building some distance still is absolutely mind-boggling 😭💥💥💥...I applauded with excitement on the first watch, and 23 world Records broken today is an allround benchmark...Rimac has just set the new standards in the car world 🔥🔥🔥
As immensly impressive as Rimac (and other performace EVs) undoubtedly are, it still lacks a couple of things. Twelve of them to be exact. And last but not least a soundtrack to go along with it.
Amazing video, as a Croatian I can’t even describe level of proudness when seeing Nevera being called one of the best and fastest cars in the world. ❤💪🇭🇷 PS: you’ve made mistake in video description about car specs; it has 1914bhp not 1888 like you’ve stated. That’s why those custom registration plates are made with 1914 on them. 😊
@@blanchard800 Thanks for that, can’t believe that after more than decade of watching car reviews I’ve only learned this now. I’ve always thought that “bhp” is the same thing as “hp” just a different name because many countries have their own names for “hp” like for example “ps” in Germany or “cv” in France etc. Thanks again 😄
Chris said twice that Rimac was a company we've never heard of. But he's forgetting that a certain smaller tv presenter once crashed one on a competing tv show 🤔 lol
YES, this episode was one of my favorites ever. Also see "Fort Nine" motorcycle channel, even if you have never ridden a motorcycle, the channel is maybe the best channel on RU-vid for comedy and engineering.
The part from 07.32 and onwards where the Nevera overtakes the SVJ is simply mind-boggling. It looks like the SVJ isn’t even blasting full throttle the way the Nevera just shoots past him. Mate Rimac and his engineers have raised the bar for car performance. Simply astonishing.
He even chose the name of the vehicle correctly. Those who know what "Nevera" is on the Adriatic Sea, know that it comes within a few minutes with a completely clear sky without clouds, to a Storm that connects heaven and earth, with wind, thunder, huge waves where you are not safe even on land. "Nevera" is perfect name for this car.
Man Chris's drifting looked so much cleaner and smoother in all TC mode off rather than the slides in Drift mode. Really goes to show you how much skill there is to do it yourself!
Im so proud of Mate. Not that he just build a monster, but also that he didnt move away from Croatia. The brain & his heart are synchronizing perfeclty.
Finally, putting someone in a rimac who can actually drive it to its limit and not just in a straight line. Great job, Rimac, im not the biggest fan of Evs in general, but i totally admire all you've done, dedication, accomplished, and achieved with the Rimac. Also, being signed up by Bugatti is the ultimate seal of approval! Can't wait to see what develops. As always, Chris, great video, cinematography, and never thought the day I would see you have so much fun in an EV Hypercar! Your passion, enthusiasm, and expertise never grow old. That last side way drift is out of this world even if it destroyed the tires!
Signed up by Bugatti? Signed Up??? Nah Mate RIMAC took control of Bugatti yeah, they bought out Volkswagen and are the Majority Shareholder with a 55% stake Porsche 24% Hyundai 12% etc. Also, have you not seen Steve Sutcliffes CHIRON Vs NEVERA video he did few months ago? Steve quite literally drove the tyres off the thing!!! Was rather spectacular and I think you'll appreciate it 😎👌
@@SchoRiginal yeah and VW owns Porsche? Who really cares anyway have you hadn't noticed that it's been constantly changing almost month by month there's a new majority shareholder / owner blah blah blah
Have you not seen UFO technology? Crafts going Warp-20 in the blink of an eye, that's mind-bending physics! Electromagnetic wave propulsion, controlling gravity....this shit is ancient technology to what's out there! We don't know $hit yet because we're too busy creating wars and boundaries.
@@hydra9259 LoL oh yeah, not even close, an $100k billet engine, twin turbos, tube chassis, and pretty much nothing stock...even if it's based off a street car is not close. I just love the physics of a car doing 200+ in the time it takes a hot hatch to hit 60.
Like starting your own Pizzeria, but first building the building, building your own oven, building your own kitchen, building your own tools, then growing all the ingredients for all the food in a place where none of that has been done before.
Some say, he cannot hear out of his left ear. I think this re-upload has slightly better mixing than the time they first uploaded this video and then deleted it.
It is a real energy boost when you watch the "300m distance catch up race" with the cinematic background that pumps the feeling of happiness (next to O2) in the blood arteries. This video was first aired on 30 October 2022. Six months ago, Top Gear gave us a taste (on RU-vid) of a two minute and a half long video, and to see it fully (also on RU-vid) after such a time, and after Rimac undoubtedly achieved >20 records**, is a smart move 😎 by Top Gear. I would not be surprised to see them re-test the Nevera soon on the Top Gear Track. They have explicitly hinted at that in S33 E01. Hence, Top Gear is not yet done with the Nevera, and it is 'coming soon' time (maybe this time, it could be the Nevera with the green stripes that broke the records)! Though the video did not mention the mode that the Nevera was on during the 2 races (or maybe I missed it 🫣). I think it was on "Track" mode - looking at the Nevera's red colour of (a) the instrument cluster and (b) the LED side lights. To have more and more context 😉, it would have been great to see a number of races with the Nevera's different modes (Drift mode excluded - we need you safe Chris 🙃). With the 'Revuelto' being now in town, the fans of Top Gear deserve to watch attempt 2 with the 'Revuelto' and attempt 3 with the 'Revuelto SVJ'. The Nevera will most likely - if not certainly - win; however, it is the winning margin that the viewers and followers will be interested in. **Note: if you are a regular visitor of Rimac's website, you will notice that the performance figures have been updated (since the car launch) after the Nevera set the new records.
Got to love Chris, could hear a whiff of Clarkson’s ghost in the cadence of his delivery and presenting style at times in this one. Incredible car, filming and cinematography. 👌
Chris, you're a lucky man... That's an amazing automobile that not only clicks all the known boxes, it makes new ones... Mate Rimac, you and your team are truly as exceptional as the cars you've faced the World with... Thank you...
WOW!!! When that Nevera was pulling and passing that Lambo, that was some serious speed, damn! Mirko Cro Cop is/was a Croatian MMA fighter with a violent brutal left kick that would send you to the graveyard and the right to the hospital, this Neveras insane speed is just as violent and brutal as Cro Cop's left kick!
Top Gear needs a fundamental revamp. Make Chris Harris, Henry Catchpole and Jensen Button offers they can’t refuse. Let them focus on cars and motor sport on their own terms and let the chemistry between them and the eventual format develop over time. And watch people fall in love with a reimagined Top Gear all over again. For the love of god, more features like this one and less lamely trying to to copy what is in the past.
Scratch --Jenson button-- and make it Matt Farah, and you have a deal. Those three would be the absolute dream team for Top Gear. Amazon has the means to make it happen anytime they want.
The AWD powerslide was crazy. He didn't even turn into the slide because the front wheels didn't have any traction either, he only turned in at the end.
That’s what actual torque vectoring does. Cars like the Lucid Sapphire can do this as well. It’s able to send whatever amount of power to whatever wheel it wants whenever it wants it to, with 0 limitations of a differential or transmission, it’s really incredible and that’s coming from a petrol head 😅
Rimac is al 15 years building his cars. Nevera is just the master peace and the crown of his work. He also bought Bugatti company. Can you imagine what new projects are going to emerge out of it.
Cars like the Rimac Nevera truly give me hope for the future of the automobile. There are not many gearheads who wouldn't find this appealing on at least some levels and although it's way to expensive for most of us to ever entertain buying, you can be certain that the trickle-down of this type of technology and power to levels that the rest of us might be able to afford will be coming sooner than later. I would love to have a 2000+ horsepower car like this with all those awesome driving modes. The automotive future looks bright again!
Well, he has a old BMW with initial electric powerplant, with which he started as a hobby, maybe even few with advanced e-powerplant for testing, like torque vectoring, maybe when you visit Croatia, go to their headquarters, they do open day for public, tour of cars and such, maybe he would sell you one of testing car's, which don't cost a fortune, or maybe see how much would cost to put their e-powerplant and some hard/software in your car, i bet they would make that happen, because they are not greedy , but have the high end product, which is future, trending and have a high value. I've been there, when the first was rolled out, and Mate Rimac is a quite nice, down to earth, inteligent person, and the whole team, is like big family, but happier, so you could have a chance.

I remember reading that the reason Rimac made every part is because no O.E. would sell parts to them, so they decided to _just_ design and make every part themselves.
@@markoklarica7532It would be slow this thing weights over 2 tons. That's why they only tested it against Lambo in a straight line. Lambo would be quicker around the track all day.
On the 2nd round of the drag race I keep telling myself, that is the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, an angry, 770 hp V12 Italian supercar that'd mince meat many traditional supercars any day of the week. But then I also reminded that Croatian car has almost 3x the power of the Lambo. And in a standing mile it reaches its top speed. Idk what's real anymore.
That Lambo looked like my Golf when it raced the Rimac. Wow, crazy how slow it looks in comparison. Rimac is such a wild car. I love the brand. All that said, combustion engines for life!

I just wanna point out that this car does 0-60 in less than 2 seconds FROM A STANDING START the model s plaid can only just make 2 seconds......... with some cheating. That is how reality changingly fast that nevera is. And i really hope Chris' boy, Neil, was responsible for that final drift shot.
