Troy D. Yes a great entertainer. There’s a lot of really good “wrestlers” in the ring today. But it’s about entertaining and connecting with the audience, not how technically good you are in the ring.
@@Dmgolfer22 Well Bret Hart Chris Benoit Daniel Bryan AJ Styles Johnny Gargano amongst others like to differ, these guys connected because they were just so damn good at WRESTLING. After all this is still pro wrestling, these days especially you gotta be able to hold your own in the ring.
Even my GF, not a wrestling fan, seems to like AEW more than the other shows I've subjected her to. The characters are just better, the in ring work is usually better, and commentary is the best I've ever heard, even with JR being a senile old man half the time.
I get up on Wednesdays now and AEW is one of the first things I think about of. I haven't had that feeling about wrestling since the Monday Night wars.
Mattapooh Absolutely brother. Been a pro wrestling fan for a little over two decades. Went to my first wwf show in 99 and those were the best years in wrestling. I stopped watching wwe for a while now and I don’t even have to go into detail to why I stopped watching that wrestling company because it’s just obvious. I got hooked too AEW since All In ppv. Loved every single ppv, Wednesday night Dynamite episode, the promo’s, the matches, everything felt like how it was back in the late 90’s. I don’t just love one company, I’m a pro wrestling fan in general and in terms of PRO WRESTLING AEW has me hooked. WWE has and will forever be a entertainment company, NOT a pro wrestling company for kids and the future of the kids to come and again I don’t even have to explain why because of obvious reasons.
I guess I'm a newly converted Jerichoholic! I've always enjoyed his work and his promos but THIS incarnation is my absolute favorite! As far as I'm concerned, LE CHAMPIONE is the COOLEST wrestler in the world today!
Angry fan: Go back to Toronto!! Jericho : I'm from Winnipeg you idiott !!! That happened about 10 years ago lol. Chris Jericho is definately a legend !!!!!
@Eddie McMullen yes that's right lololol. That and Winnipeg Jets deep playoff run in spring 2018. They were one series away from the Stanley Cup finals
@@fc775 lol the Rock? What has he done lately? Hell, the last 10 years! He's played the same character. Sorry. Jericho is the master of reinvention along with the Undertaker
His interviews and banter make him the best. Stood the test of time wich is something few can handle. Beyond guys his age that have retired already. Good shit jericho
I feel like Hogan and flair did more but of course Jericho been the better wrestler than them . But don't bet me wrong Jericho is up there and still only 49. He still has pretty good 5 year ran before he slows down a bit
*HA HA HA!* Jericho says here Tony Khan is *"the type of guy who was booking wrestling TV when he was 14 years old...IN HIS MIND".* That's an impressive resume Chris.
Okay, putting the title on Chris Jericho was a stroke of genius. He's so natural in this position, in front of the camera, having interviews and just being overall charismatic. He has the name value so he isn't just the AEW champion, he's Chris Jericho, the AEW champion. Le Champion. Someone like Cody, albeit a good wrestler, woould have not had this sorta main stream appeal. Chris Jericho was coming out of having some of the best time in his life at WWE with the List and KO. What does the general public remember of Cody if they haven't followed the indy scene? Stardust maybe? Would they even know they're the same person? Or maybe that midcarder Dashing Cody Rhodes. All in all, great choice, Chris is the perfect ambassador for the brand. And he can continue doing what he does best while the rest get used to being on the big stage.
I mean, that's why they brought him in lol. Cody knows this, he's getting over in a way he's never been atm and that's much to do with Chris Jericho being such a good hand to work with. They have bout 2 years of storylines already set up, expect dynamite to be very well set up for at least it's first 2 years, by then someone like Cody may have that figurehead presence.
@Shaddy Snake I think aew is doing great but number 1 company tho? Nah I think NJPW is still ahead of them. NJPW has more depth in their divisions and they also have some of the best wrestlers and THE best wrestler in the world today.
@Shaddy Snake Mauro and Nigel are actually great announcers tho. Arguably better than JR these days, don't get me wrong JR is awesome but he lost a step he's not as good as he used to be.
AEW is using this man properly. He’s going to have an incredible title reign, and when he does eventually lose the title, it will: 1.) Be a major moment, and 2.) Elevate the next guy incredibly. This is how you do it.
The bit I'm most interested in hearing about is his take on Tony Khan- like Chris mentioned, I was under the impression that Tony was just providing the funding and standing back to leave the actual running to the pros (with the bit about him insisting on them using The Librarian gimmick being just a joke riffing on Vince). It's interesting to hear that he does actually contribute to the booking as well (but doesn't micromanage things like Vince).
Jericho's entire career is very inspiring for me. I've followed his entire career trajectory it seems at this point, and I'm glad to see him reinvent himself a couple years ago.
I tell you it amazing that Chris is a year away from the big 50 and he still wrestling at a high level which is absolutely incredible. Meanwhile when Hogan and flair were still wrestling they should have retired a lot sooner than they did. He'll the undertaker has to hang it up soon I wish he would come back as a the American bad Ass one more time though.
Great interview. Wondering why Jericho had his right arm extended the whole time. Was it simply to hold up the AEW belt? Looked a bit unnatural and uncomfy haha.
Dude is about the best possible ambassador for the AEW brand they could ask for. I've been a Jericho fan since WCW; this is my favourite iteration. (you heard it here first; Jericho to continue being Le Champion! for another 6-12 months)
Former wwe tag team champion, most reigns as wwe intercontinental champion, wcw champion, former wwe champion, first ever, current and youngest AEW world champion, first ever wwe undisputed champion, former champion in japan, lead singer in rock band FOZZY, Jericho is the GOAT! nobody can top Chris Jericho!
Jericho is the only reason I would turn the channel from NXT. I loved what MJF was doing in MLW, I hope they can develop him into the superstar he is destined to be.
THERE ARE A FEW GOATS AND JERICHO DEFINITELY IS ONE OF THEM !!! GOTTA SALUTE LONGEVITY AND CREATIVITY!!! SURPRISED MORE WRESTLERS DONT PATTERN THEIR STYLE AFTER HIS CREATIVITY OVER THE YEARS
