Agree. Ablett could gather more disposals and find it better than anyone, with a few 50s to his name, but wce judd would just devestate with you every touch.
Judd is the greatest in that position, he will never be replaced, you can have your voss's you can have hodgy you can have ablett jnr. This guy at west coast was absolutely phenomenal, his acceleration his speed through traffic second to none, absolutely stunning. Shouldve had two flags 🎉 they shouldve gone back to back in 05-06
For mine judd in his prime at west coast is still the best I've ever seen. Would take him in his prime over ablett jnr any day of the week. A simply phenomenal player!
Agree. Ablett could gather more disposals and find it better than anyone, with a few 50 disposal gamea to his name, but wce judd would just devestate with you every touch. So many running goals at break neck speed.
'Generational talent' gets thrown around heaps for names like Dangerfield and Jack Riewoldt and such, but Judd seriously was the pinnacle of generational talent. Something that special just doesnt come around often
He just had the ability to will any team to come up around him and raise their level. He almost single handedly brought the Blues back into that 2013 elimination final against the Richmond. Sheer strength to burst through packs you'd think were impossible to burst through and then have the class and polish to finish by either kicking the goal himself or setting it up for someone else. What a footballer.
I remember when he kicked that five against Brisbane. Laying on the couch hungover hoping we weren't gonna lose by ten goals. By halftime I was upright having a beer watching a legend being born. Easily the best player of his era imo.
Nathan Hill different style of players in my opinion. Wines doesn’t have the pace or skills as Judd, more of a in and under player with brute strength.
With the Juddernaught on the ground west coast we’re always a chance regardless the score. Truly the greatest Eagle ever and the best player I’ve watched play the game
Judd in his prime is better than any AFL / VFL player. He's better than Voss, Better than Ablett Jnr, better than Selwood, better than Bont better than Dusty, better than Kerr and Cousins. Better than Simon Black, aker and ever other standout player.
Different player at both clubs. He actually had more of the ball stats wise at Carlton than he did west coast. Just didn’t get those freakish goals as he lost pace with injuries. Not to mention he didn’t have the same freedom and support at Carlton like that great west coast side.
Two different players but equally superb. Cuz was the hard running play maker and Juddy was the strong sprinter. Both excellent finishers! Great duo especially with Kerr chipping in
@More Chilli since the early 90’s. Dusty easily ahead of Judd and Ablett jr. These guys don’t come close in regards to the ability to win a high pressure game off their own boot, which is what I hold on high regard.
