He didn't have to go to Iraq. It was the U.S government that forced them to go over there to protect their interests. Those Iraq citizens were defending their land from invaders.
He saved many lives while doing his job. He helped many veterans during his last years. I hope the younger generation will appreciate what Chris Kyle did for all of us when he was a soldier.

When my brother first enlisted when I was twelve I were happy for him, 2 years later he told me he was going to Afghanistan. I didn’t know what to say, first of all I was scared, I didn’t wanna see him when he came back. I was scared if he was changed or anything like that. Please, everyone who goes to Afghanistan or Syria or fighting isis are true heroes.
Absolutely one of the saddest days in American! History! A true hero! How could this end this way? He was honored protect and serve and wanted to the best he could be! He always wanted to protect our freedom. To go through all of those tours and finally make it home! Only to be murdered in cold blood by another marine he was to help on American soil! The grief has brought us to our knees! Years later the pain remains very deep! Sending love and prayers to his wife and children! We love you and you will never ever be forgotten!

I read his book and if half the things he says in the book are true then he's a total boss. He saw marines get shot up in Fallujah while clearing houses so he gave his sniper rifle to a marine who was helping him and went down to help the marines clear homes putting his life on the line they they wouldn't get hurt.

How I wish that here in Brazil the population gives the same value that you (Americans) give to the heroes, because here we only value football, bad guys and corrupt politicians. But thanks to God it seems to me that the scenario is changing because today we see more people in favor of the police and wanting to arrest the bad guys. It's futile. I just now tried and was strongly rebuffed by one who denies that the great evil which is war, exists. I saw the horrible effects of war in four African nations, although I have never been involved in direct combat, thankfully. I'm an ex-paratrooper who barely missed Nam. Hate war.
