Your experience as a world traveler and critical thinker who is presenting real, workable solutions to Trinidad's crime problem is duly noted by your global viewership. The possible yellow-vest solution to give a voice to those in Trinidad's deprived and underserved communities is a low cost, accessible solution that can be organized and implemented by communities themselves, possibly with government assistance. Your incarceration has spotlighted the question of whether there is political will and desire to earnestly address the crime situation, by peaceable means. Seemingly the rhetoric and ineffective policies from politicians, the armed forces, police, and those in media has been to scapegoat the Black, ghetto youths as the bane of society. The same as Chris Must List has been scapegoated. All of this while the Trinidadian business and political elite continue to maximize their profit from the illicit drug trade and theft of natural gas and oil revenue from government coffers.
Trinidad is NOT embarrassed about the gangs. The people of T&T are NOT stupid. They Know about the gangs and they know the basic areas. Laventille, Beetham, Sealots, Gonzalez, Belmont and Enterprise in Chaguanas. They just did NOT know there were so many of them and they feared what Chris did was going to start a gang war. They have been a bit peaceful in the last few years and people wish for them to remain like that.
As the saying goes, out of evil cometh good. I hope for the best. I admired your interaction with the kids and young men, and they were very respectful. All the best, Mr. Chris and Tilo.
Wake up!! The gang wars were there before Chris came. He gave people a voice. That is NOT a crime. You say the gangs have been peaceful, yet when you read Trinidad newspapers, there's a lot of killing long before Chris came. Read the newspapers and listen to TTT news.
This is amazing to hear, changes will come if people are willing to speak up and push for changes. I applaud you for what you do, sometimes people do need to see reality and come out of the dark, stop hiding behind walls. We have big brother here in Florida and it helps so many boys have some stability, figures to guide them. They also have a program here that gifts children who have never been anywhere to have fun, never been able to get toys they see, like etc and the program gifts things to the children and takes them places to have some enjoyment. Mediators in communities is a good thing, it helps to squash many conflicts and help people see the outside view, another side instead of just seeing one point of view. If you come to ft laud Chris can you reach out to me so I can meet you please
I don't understand why some people cannot be at peace in their own country that they have to go to other countries and do weird things to feel contented. They should become politicians in their own country and try to fix things there. I live downtown in Chris's city and there are homeless people sleeping in tents in the parks, and there is a mission a few blocks from me where homeless men hang out all day. Car thefts by the hundreds is one of the biggest problems here. There are shootings and stabbings going on daily in this city. Why shame another persons country? I do hope that Dr. Rowley demands major renovations to the holding cells and people have decent humane conditions while they are there. That exposure was necessary and positive. We can do better than that. It surely is not the way to treat our people, regardless of their crimes.
Tilo, are you sure you are 20 years old? You do not sound like a 20 year old. You need to show your ID with age for us to believe, I say you are 26. They wanted to know if you are CIA ,deliberately trying to tarnish Trinidad and Tobago. There is a legitimate reason for wanting to find out which I cannot disclose here!
prime minister you need to see this video change have to come instead tryin to locked up mr chris take the 0pportunity to work with mr chris and others . who care about trinidad the time is now to many have died it can be done this is not goverment problem alone it is the responsibility of everybody open your eyes trinidad let the change begin
He still cannot walk into people's country and do what he wants. It is a total disrespect to me and my country. He was not in a big jail. He was in a holding cell. A good lesson for the rebels. It is not fancy like the holding cells that we in the north help to pay for.
It's unfortunate how the Government mishandled this whole situation. It's obviously an embarrassment that a you tuber could walk into the country and expose all this effortlessly. This is what happens when morons are in charge.
