I absolutely loved this. Pastras has always been one of my favorites. So happy to see him bringing back these older boards. Anyway, good stuff right here.
I’m really surprised to hear that those Blue decks were from ‘91. I always thought that company was in ‘92 only, but I guess its 8 months of existence overlapped ‘91/‘92? Understanding the timeline is crazy because Video Days came out in ‘91, Gonz must’ve left right after that and then J. Lee a few months later and all in ‘91?? So crazy how fast things happened back then. I remember in ‘93 how it felt like Stereo had been there for awhile, firmly established, but it was a baby. My favorite board company. However, I’m kinda obsessed with early World/bLind/101. I need to get one of the reissue decks before they’re impossible to find.
I can't wait to get some reissues from the early-mid 1990's..The shapes we're sooo ganrly b4 it went popsicle.. **It made buying a new deck fun.. The blind JasonLee Dumptruck & Gonz Fishcar decks are sooo coveted because they we're MINI. And many of us who are dads now want these shapes for kids cause the length is like 28-29 inches vs the usual 33'. *I settled on a Steve Saiz Buffalo original. it's 28 inches but the tail is kinda steep.. FYI. its a fact that the original Powell decks(not reissue) are such high quality. you can instantly feel it when you skate.. I have the underhill,Saiz, and a team Christmas deck all from early 90's. **Did you guys know that the Ray Underhill 1st deck had a huge nose almost 1.5-2 years before the trend became popular.. *I only know this because I bought the underhill deck and couldn't believe it was 1988.. Thx Dune!
So sick! Curb sessions are the best and so fun. The reissue stuff looks great-so cool. Also stoked on the Blue stuff, my buddy had the Jason Lee with the American flag graphic
Jason Adams? I need the Jason Adams "Bowie" board. There's not nearly enough Jason Adams out there. Love "The kid". From the rattle in my chest, to the escape in my breath, I'll be rollin', skate till death.
I love watching these skate vids. They make me wanna skate, but holy fuck I'm so shit that I'm scared of messing my ankles up and then not being able to work
i'm 92% sure Blue Skateboards never reached Italy..awesome artworks tho!! Will search for more info about that short-lived brand. I loved this video, i am not a "collector" but im a proud owner of one of those Foundation/Element imaginary ltd editions and a couple of other boards with great artworks one Polar & a classic Zero black w white skull ( which was/is important to me ). I feel like the right number of boards on a wall could be 3, 5 or 7... more than 7 and it looks like a skate shop
Nevermind. Found their website and it's all on sale there. www.primewood.la/shop-now You guys really should've posted the link in the description so people can support his projects. You're really doing Dune a disservice. Bringing to light the reissues but not linking people to them makes no sense to me.
SpeckFuckinTachular!! I'm 44, look late 20s early 30s myself. Most of my friends I grew up with look younger as well. We've always theorized that it may have something to do with you body chemistry when you skate alot as a kid. Obvious health benefits of being in shape, but more than that. Dopamine, seratonin, adrenaline and who know what else could form a cocktail that slows down aging or apoptosis . When I turned 40 I went to a doctor for a full work up to see if I had any old man problems developing, he said that my numbers weren't just good, they were "ideal" for a man in his 20s.
