He plays ten keys. He plays fast, at times. He uses almost all conceivable tecnique that can be done with a tenor. It is a masterclass, a kind of exercise, of demonstration... and yet There is never a showdown, no bragging, no circus. He plays LYRICAL, SOULFUL, HUMBLE and HONEST. OH YES this is MUSIC

Right Luciano....that "blur of notes" is all the more impressive 'cause it is absolutely precise...I disagree that it's nebulous time, I can hear it but can't count it! There's another similar but shorter passage at around 12:00- maybe someone can check if the amazing transcriber got it all !!!

Utter insanity. Imagine trying to move the whole thing through all 12 keys, ie starting in Db, then in D etc. You'd be unstoppable. Cherokee has so much in it that can apply to most standards too...

TehWinnerz both Eric and Chris play with plenty of Heart. But it’s inside the music not emotion they wear on their sleeve. I know your just trying to explain why some people might find it that way. this part is transposed for Tenor Sax which is a transposing instrument in Bb, so the notes you read here are 2 steps above the real notes you hear: the 1st note written is E, but actually it's a D...the same for the chords: 1st chord written is C6 but actually it is Bb6
