Bit at the end about what he's wearing had me in stitches. His wife didn't look too impressed. I bet she said before going, "this is a red carpet event, a big deal, try to act professional and limit the childish humour". He nearly made it to the end, lol

I understand they were aiming to find someone with a similar personality as RDJ to fill in the role of Quill. Now I see why they chose this guy, good choice! I wonder how will that work out when they're together in The Avengers 3. Who will overshadow who?

Have to disagree, the premise behind each character is totally different: Peter Quill - A man who has lived a life holding onto grief from a devastating loss early in childhood. His adventures in space (an escape into a world of fantasy) can be seen as a metaphor for wanting to avoid the pain he carries around every day. This is exactly why he never opened the present, because he doesn't want to really think about it. It's also why the Walkman is so important to him, because it was what he used to tune out the world as his mother was dying. Tony Stark - A man who has lived a life of privilege and couldn't be bothered to engage in behavior that didn't immediately benefit himself. His metaphor is the weapons his company sold are a reflection on his narcissist personally. He didn't care that they were used to kill people because they made him money. Now what makes both of these characters interesting is that they grow and develop into people that they were not by the end of the film. Make no mistake though, the core personalities of each of these characters are vastly different.
Andrew A That is an insightful lesson of the comic book characters, thank you very much, it's really cool, I had no idea. However, I was only talking about the actors Robert Downey Jr, and Chris Pratt, and how their personalities gained them their respective roles.
I can't believe during the premiere of this move he had just lost his father. Wow, G-d Bless Chris' strength and spirit. I do know first hand to lose your dad and continue on as if nothing happened. Very Hard to do. Much love to Chris, such an amazing person.
SO Sorry for your terrible loss! My Sincerest Condolences! I too lost my Beloved Dad to Cancer about 4 years ago and my Beloved Husband to a major Ischemic stroke about 4 Months ago, so BELIEVE me, I definitely understand loss and I'm also HIGHLY impressed that Chris was able to have SUCH strength and spirit in regards to HIS great loss of his Dad and keep going so eloquently! It could NOT have been easy, THAT'S for sure! He talks about how close he was to his Dad! God Bless Chris, he's a very good, upstanding Man, equally hilarious and UBER Talented in SO many ways!!
this movie was better than the avengers...HOLD ON!(nostalgia critic) ronan the accuser was a more badass villain than loki. altough tom hiddlestones awesome and loki too. and more of thanos. and the visuals. the space in the movie beyond beautiful. and the celestial head.. and the collector. and an infinity stone (power)
funnier maybe but better? not really.........do all the characters have their own bad ass movie and credibility to their role? avengers was by far the most anticipated movie ............and it lived up to the hype..............if it wasn't for avengers we wouldn't even know who played thanos...............marvel is bumping all it's up and coming movies and they are getting better and better with CGI effects but is this movie better than avengers ?..........i'll let numbers do the talking box office one and half billion
joe20m20 money means very little when it comes to actual critique. this movie was far better paced than the avengers, and the fact it's cast were newcomers to the public makes it that much more of a success in it's own right. that and it beat winter soldier already, which had a whole lot going for it as a sequel.
I love Ooh Child so much, I remember the first time I heard it. it really is an amazing, beautiful song. I laughed so hard when he started singing it. I was all like. "I KNOW THAT. I KNOW THAT SONG. THAT ONE THERE. THE ONE WITH THE NOTES. I KNOW IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTT."
Yeah, that one "Oooh, child, things are gonna get easier...oooh, things will get briiiighterrr..." song stuck in my head when I was getting ready for work this past Thu & Fri, and, well, things *did* get a little easier and brighter...I was able to have enough to eat in the morning to avoid the "horrible hungries", then I was able to scrape up some bread to do with the jar of peanut butter in the front passenger seat to supplement my lunch, then I did a little better at work...after that, I was able to get a decent lunch on Friday (a Frisco Burger from Hardee's), and after work, Ribeye's were on sale at Publix :)

Yes, he DOES! UBER Talented guy ALL the way around! Acting, Singing, Dancing, you should see him Draw and do Art too!; he can Braid Hair, do a Rubix Cube in under 3 minutes WHILE Interviewing, do some AWESOME card tricks/Magic, speaks numerous Languages fluently, including German, etc. and so on! The list goes ON and on!; and he does EVERYTHING with SUCH conviction, style and PURE skills, not to mention, he's GORGEOUS and has an INCREDIBLE Personality and seems like SUCH a nice, upstanding guy, to ADD to all of that, as well!! He TRULY is the whole, beautiful package!!! ❤🔥😍🤗
DEFINITELY agreed, he's Adorable, GORGEOUS, even!; but Sorry, I don't see him the LEAST bit full of himself! If anything, he's insecure, although he CERTAINLY doesn't have ANY reason to be! He's just goofy, hilarious and SO loveable and likeable and sometimes he pretends to ACT conceited, like the Star Lord, or Chris Pratt comment........and then he laughs and you just KNOW he's simply goofing around and having fun poking fun of himself and his persona!!
I was hoping he'd choose come and get your love as his choice song instead. That song was way better. The scene where quill is in that abandoned planet was my favrit
