One of the best "pop/rock" song ever. Perfect in every way. If you want to hear an interesting Rea aside, find the story about how his song "Drivin' Home For Christmas" all but salvaged his musical career.
August 28, 2022. If I'm not mistaken, this 1997 performance was one of the first return tours after Chris was recuperating from his serious illness and multiple operations between 1994 to 1996. Through all the decades, all of his creative and talented BRAIN ACTIVITY has kept his abundant manly mane of gorgeous hair luxurious. We hope he continues to take care of his health and maintains his glorious spirit to grace us with his lyrics, music, voice and wit. God Bless you, Chris.
I've been a Chris Rea fan since the very beginning. His music has been (and continues to be) the soundtrack of my life. All those that ask "why did he get so ill?" well, he didn't help himself a lot. During his whole cancer and stroke episodes, he never stopped smoking. I read a 2016 interview that mentioned that he had "finally quit smoking". Thank goodness, and let's hope it truly is 'never too late' to quit!
For decades I've been dying to find out who the gorgeous blonde lady was. No luck, I gave up. I guess she will remain a mystery as the sands of time of that beach have erased all her foot prints, her very existence of being there. Just a sweet memory of the past. 😥😥
Montreux Jazz always brings the best out of every artist. This is no exception. Incredible rendition of a memorable song. Thank you for the memories, Chris Rea. 🙏
The best rendition of this song. Over 10 minutes of pure musical bliss. Always luved Chris Rea's jazz-fusion style. His vocals clearly compliment his guitar style. On par w/"Breezin' " by George Benson, "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers, & "Painted Ladies" by Ian Thomas but a razor's edge below "Mr. Magic" by Grover Washington, Jr.; nvrthlss; A KILLER JAM!!!!! This song's living proof that it doesn't have 2 b hard (rock) nor heavy (metal) in order 2 ROCK!!!!!
Петь и одновременно играть на соло-гитаре это физически не просто. И это Крис делает качественно. Спасибо ему большое. Желаю ему крепкого здоровья и долгих лет жизни. 👍👍👍💞💞💞💞💞
Chris Rea is a one of a kind artist. He's an amazing singer/songwriter and musician. Never be another one like him. He's fantastic. And this is my favorite version of this great song. Wish I could have attended this concert.
Roger, I've listened to all the Live versions of this, and this version is the very best one. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to this version while down on my favourite beaches in West Cornwall. Favourite moments are listening to this on a sunsetting Porthmeor Beach with the added sounds of the waves lightly crashing about me...pure Heaven.
I love this song so much. Where did the time go????? I saw him in 1998. It was like yesterday and now we are here and this poor guy is so ill. It makes me sick. How did this happen ? Life is too short and should not be sick. Love and pray for u Chris. You are a SWEET SOUL.
Thank you Chris this is the best rendition of the song......so smooth and jazzy......like a good rum.......an absolute dream to listen to over and over and over and............☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

This song is so cool. I like to be sitting around a beach bar having a cold drink talking and laughing with beautiful women. Acting a like a sophisticated mister. It's enjoy life music for sure.
