Never forget first listening to this album in highschool. It literally blew my fucking mind. I couldn’t believe how good the music was . The perfect mixture of amazing breakdowns, good guitar riffs, and amazing vocals, screams and cleans. I remember being so siked on it I immediately called my good friend who also liked this kind of music and told him to come over so I could show it to him in person . First song I heard was Alerion, followed by A Single Moment of Sincerity. The “fuck this” into the breakdown in Alerion immediately sealed the deal for me loving this band. Also the “get on your knees” in single moment of sincerity . Amazing shit. I will say their newer shit has lost me but that always tends to be what happens with bands . I think they were amazing up until the album after Reckless and Relentless. That’s when I stopped really listening to them.
Danny's voice didn't "develop" actually. It sounds so different, because all the drugs and booze he used/drank over the years made a surgery on his vocal chords necessary (right around their 3rd album). That's why nowadays he's got this raspy "southern rock" voice.
The screaming and touring play a huge part in the voice change. Screaming and singing like he does night after night plus all the booze. I saw an interview with AA saying him and Bruce would each down almost a handle of whiskey a day on tour.
I got to see them in concert and he was disappointing because he was messed up. I ended up by their camera guy after trying to get out of the pit and catch my breath. I sang this whole song next to the guy filming and he told me I should've been up there. I can say I would've set that shit on fire while he drunkenly tried to read phone numbers on bras.
Your awake! Was just watching some of your old vids. Check out Heavensent Losing Faith. Also Down & Dirty Heavensent. A lot of bands intertwined thanks to Dennis lol
I keep the remake of the demo version from Life Gone Wild EP in my rotation, so I kinda forgot how good this version is. The electronic stuff is really sick.
On the vocals it was Danny not Denis, Denis only filled out vocals on the album The Black Then try a reaction to the song on the album The Black again, that's where Denis filled the vocals thank you ❤️🔥
