I don't usually agree with Rob but he is spot on. Look at how many QB's filled in for starting QB's and did a good job. The Cowboys are better off letting Daks contract run down and see what happens. Dak is a good QB, not a great QB. If Dak wants to test the market in the future, let him do it. Spread the money around and strengthen other spots on the roster.

Football isn't as binary as ppl make it out to be, there are a lot of variables when it come to teambuilding, coaching, and playing the game. I get that Cowboys fans have soured on Dak and he has given them reason to this year. My issue is that fans have a whole platform dedicated to how much the QB is the weakest link on the team and Dallas should get rid of him but expect the same front office that habitually hires yes-man coaches (Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett), hasn't taken a QB in the 1st round since Troy Aikman.... And the QBs they DID draft and take fliers on (Quincy Carter, Stephen McGee) couldn't even make a 2nd contract in the NFL. this isn't a cape for Dak because he folded in the playoffs after a good reg season again but people want that SAME front office who are cheapskates in free agency and won't make trades for top tier talent at positions of need to drop a competent QB and reset because he hasn't gotten past the 2nd round in the playoffs. okay... Dak has a no trade, no franchise tag clause in his contract. In other words, Cowboys have to pay him that this year if he doesn't extend. We still have to sign CeeDee, Micah, the unrestricted free agents we want back and free agents we need like linebackers. The only way to afford that is to extend Prescott to drop the huge cap hit. I don't like it either, but Jerry's the one who agreed to give Dak the advantages with the no trade/franchise tag.

The great Pat Mahomes did nothing in the first half of the Superbowl. The high flying Chiefs scored a total of 19 points. The Chief's defense alone keep the Chiefs in the game. Hell Dallas's defense could have held the Green Bay's offense in check but failed miserably. So miss me with this pocket watching on Dak. Pay the man and supply him with a freaking defense and get the hell out of his way.
