One of the greatest songwriters of all time. One of the best frontmen of all time. One of the coolest rock stars of all time. One of the funniest guys in music of all time. One of the best voices in rock n roll of all time (not a pure or technically great voice, but just pure rock n roll noise coming from his vocal cords even when he speaks). Totally under-rated in every way, Chris, Rich and all the Crowes should be rated alongside Led Zep, Bowie, The Faces and other such rock gods as just as good as it gets if you want great rock n roll.
i think hes better....not first, ok, but overall better. and ive been listening to the Crowes and Jimmy Page for 6 months straight in my car- i just cant take it off...and it aint easy to sing those songs live-
Still missing you Neal - Wish we could have had so many more nights to hang and talk... you were the kindest person I believe I have ever met. I loved being with you and learning what you had to teach brother. Thank you for giving so much of yourself to us.
I've been following the Black Crowes, Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, Neal Casal, Chris and Rich Robinson, Marc Ford and Jackie Greene since late 1989. If one goes back and listens, carefully, to the music, the stories and the poetry that ALL of these musicians and lyricists created it's mind-boggling! I followed ALL if their solo careers and made a point of seeing them perform live...every single one of them...whenever I, possibly, could. I love them ALL! Regardless of their egos, greed, inability to handle their fame and ultimate demise. Ryan, no one can pen a lyric like you. Jackie, the soul and rawness that you evoke is intoxicating. Chris, you are the quentisenntial showman. Rich, your ability to write the music that separates you from the rest is addictive. Neal, your musical range and innate ability to ALWAYS be at your best made you one of the most sought-after guitarists and musical geniuses to ever grace the stage. Marc, I saw you and your Son perform in Denver on November 4, 2016. It was my Dad's 74th birthday. You were on your game, sounded great and seeing you with your Son was inspirational....sobriety agrees with you! I've seen ALL of these artists perform solo and live, with the exception of Neal. I had the pleasure to see Neal with the Chris Robinson Brotherhood. In short, in my opinion Neal's death is what prompted the Robinson brother's to reunite. I would hate to think that it was ALL about money. I saw the Black Crowes at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Golden, Colorado while on their "Shake Your Money Maker" anniversary tour. They were fantastic and they will always be my favorite band of all time! ✌️🤙
This song kicks me in the teeth, every single time, it's so fucking good. Tears, smiles, fear, hope. The whole nine. Cosmos, Bless The Chris Robinson Brotherhood.
"To be struck by the arrow of weakness On the guilded path to forgiveness To find my way home when the morning comes To stay your friend when it's all said and done Simple as lightning starting wild fire Just down from a trip off my high wire Just coming home to walk my own floors Coming home to the one I adore Appaloosa Appaloosa Appaloosa Take me home where I can dream my days away We took your tears back to the river Knowing all the while there'd be more later So it goes in a rainy day town C'mon and won't you let me lay you down Sometimes the sun makes beggars believers, sometimes a shrine is built to deceive her In between, let oblivion reign Oh, let me hear all you sad angels sing Appaloosa Appaloosa Appaloosa Take me home where I can dream my days away Appaloosa Appaloosa Appaloosa Take me home where I can dream my days away" "Up high in a mansion On a mountain of jagged rock Behind two iron doors So heavy they need no lock Is the last place that love lives Where the sad woman cries Is the last place that love lives Behind your eyes You hold up your finger And you place it to my lips And you tell me that anger Can never get rid of this Is the last place that love lives Where the sad woman cries Is the last place that love lives Behind your eyes Never blind to misfortune Never deaf to the sorrowful moan Set adrift on an ocean Until I find that peaceful shore Is the last place that love lives Where the sad woman cries Is the last place that love lives Behind your eyes"

Wondering if Robinson saw the impeccable picking and harmony singing Neil Casals did with Ryan Adams back when they were together in the Cardinals. Whatever the connection, great stuff. Neil Casals on that Martin, no words necessary, just listen.
fucking cool all kinds of great stuff from the late great Neal Casal to be found on RU-vid as you keep mining RIP😢🙏💐🌷🤗😊 so many goddamn artists we've lost to suicide in the last few years it's almost scary
i know people get older. So do I. gettin grey and shit but I haven't seen Chris recently and this clearly and I'm somehow confused. Had different memories of him. One of my all time fav singers and writers none the less. Superb performance…
PLEEZE DON'T start rumors as to why CR looks"OLD". You DON'T KNOW if it is because of drugs. People do not get to where he is being wasted all the time. Ask Ted Nugent. Chris may smoke alot of weed but weed is NOT a drug. Whatever! I would marry him in a heartbeat. I think he is handsome ad has a beautiful spirit along with his awsome music and you can bet I would wash his feet for him ( but he probably would just laugh and hand me a toke!)
I totally agree with you about the Cannabis, Sandra. It has DEFINITE and proven medical benefits for everyone, as it boosts our body's endocannabinoid system and facilitates a whole stack of metabolic processes, including a reduction in cancer risks, especially if you take the oil. We all look old in the end, and i reckon the Herb keeps us going a little longer.
Yeah a lot of us have and still do. It has it's pluses and minuses you know. Not passing judgement on CR because the guy is amazing, but I'm sure coke still has a presence. Psychedelics and weed are a given.
