Brought an experienced, calm hand. Has the resume' to command respect and the experience as a player to empathize and guide. Lot of people only remember the Championships with San Fransisco; but he also took a San Diego squad, that NO one predicted would make the playoffs, let alone win the NL pennant, to The Series in '98. Few managers, if any, have done more with less.
Seems like Wilt's #'s aren't as strong just b/c there was such an advantage with his height compared to the rest of the early league. Much easier to dominate in basketball, especially in the early days of the league.
Never been a fan of Russo (maybe because i'm a west coast guy) all these years...style is subjective...that said, he always looks like he just woke up (hair) when he's on DP's show...little disrespectful not to be presentable....jmo
