I LOVE how the guy in the red shirt is moving to the downbeat. No one ever does that, and it takes a lot of soul and natural musicianship to be able to feel it. Kudos to him.
He was invited out of the audience to spontaneously sing with this band, which isn't his. I think that's why he doesn't play the guitar much, trying not to step in anyone else's territory (because he is always a gentleman on stage, so respectful to other musicians!) Also that little flub with the words ... no one else has mentioned it in reactions, but I notice it. Lol. But who cares? It's CHRIS. STAPLETON. 👏👏👏💪💪💪🎸🎤
He was asked to come up onstage - unplanned and unrehearsed. But I agree - he absolutely respects the founding brothers and sisters who gave him a genre of music to fall so deeply in love with - I can relate 😉🎶
I definitely agree he did it justice with the exception of the fact that Chris Stapleton can’t sing those high notes that make James Brown’s original so iconic.
I have discovered Chris Stapleton through several reaction videos. I love your reaction to this. You really got into it and you gave some good comments. Thanks guys. :)
Love you and your brothers. James Brown would be so proud of the way Chris Stapleton took on this song. Damn he just has it. Chris Stapleton can take on any song. Love you and your brothers keep up your great reaction. 💕 U all
Chris has lived that. I don't think anyone could do that without some hard knocks in life. And he had plenty. Just happy a talent like him made it. Now we are all blessed. Who knows what this God given talent can do from here. I think JB would be smiling down on this performance. What a gift we have. Thanks for your video.
Exellent way to start my day!😊 Thank you gentleman! Just Exellent!!! So soulful! So deep. Not many could pull this off. He did it! Coudos to James Brown. And it is a man's world. I have no problem with that.
The way I see it there are two ways to do a cover either in your own style or spot on in the original vibe. I love me some Chris Stapleton but you just can't do this song without them horns. Luvuguys.
you can see the guitarist in the back salty that another non black person was invited to the band and you can literally watch the prejudice he has melt off his face its one of the best reactions of all time to slowly see dude slowly respect chris you can even see dude snap to the audience to see if they were loving it or not and you can start to see it bro even shook his head in the beginning but 3 bars later dudes a fan.....
The guitarist and keyboard player in that opening set of lines have these shit-eatin' grins on their face - pure joy. But actually, I realize what they're doing. They've got a rope between their teeth and they're grittin' down soooo hard to hold onto Planet Earth. They're soooo happy they're not blown away.
I've always loved this soulful song! I ran across this video a couple weeks ago of Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson singing "Man's World" on The Voice. It was amazing! Tom's still got it! Thanks for your reaction! Would be great to see your reaction to the one I just suggested, if you haven't already seen it (link below)! Thanks again! Funny y’all mention the band being amazed by him…… THATS NOT EVEN HIS BAND OR CONCERT!! He attended THEIR CONCERT and they invited him on stage to play! That was the first time they EVER played together!! They had no practice at all for that
Jamel, I know I'm a day late. Sorry, I save all my music for the weekends. If your brothers liked this one, PLEASE show them Ball and Chain by Janis Joplin. I know you already did it, but I would LOVE to see their reaction. :)
Let's face it Chris Stapleton can sing his ass off anything😊😊 and I know he's under the country genre but that's not even close to describing who he is as an artist😊😊😊😊 considering there was no preparation it was not his guitar it was not his band it was not planned he killed it and I think James Brown would be clapping wherever he is😊😊😊😊😊 blessings from Toronto😊😊😊😊
Just a thought, since you're taking a retro tour of funk and rock, you might want to look up jazz maestro Taj Mahal. He's got some good stuff, fave of mine being Mind Your Own Business.
Y’all gotta react to his live performance a few weeks ago at CMAs of his song Cold !! He was so amazing .. I’m not talking about the one w JHUD I saw you did that one ..
If ya haven't seen it, this one specifically might blow ya mind: Steve Vai "Knappsack" from the SteveVaiHimself channel. Only further proof Steve Vai is from another planet....
Marcus King opened for Chris Stapleton when I saw him in concert in September. I hadn't heard of Marcus before, but I was super impressed and thought he was a perfect fit for that tour! Loved his voice ... similar style to Chris. I concur with that recommendation, for sure! 😁
@@Melly01 Marcus is from the town I live in now. I first saw him play when he was 13 in a little venue called The Handlebar. He was playing that night with The Craig Sorrells Project. I was blown away by his guitar playing then.
You’ve heard him sing bluegrass with the Steel Drivers and country and soul. No its time to graduate to some heavier sounds and his Jompson Brothers period. Check out “On the Run” for something completely different and some tasty guitar riffs.
That wasnt his band thats why they were there in aww if chris... The band is called the shadowboxers they were performing and chris was there watching them... Chris asked em if he could do a song with em... And this is what they did... It was a complete impromptu performance
Hello everyone. Can i ask a favor to react to the cover of cakra khan tennesse whisky.. i absolutely know u all will like it... I am a new subscriber... Thank u so much
Love this song and Loving this version - Thank you for introducing me to Chris Stapleton - You really are keeping good music alive ! Just a quick shout out to @Karise Eden who nailed a version of this at just 19 years old in her Blind Audition for The Voice, which she went on to win. Please take a look you won't be disappointed - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Xjk5Uz0xJ68.html The link above includes the judges comments - which gives you a little about her at the time (unfortunately only found in black and white I'm assuming for copyright purposes) A colour version can be found here without the Judges comments - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L-QdjnA2vtI.html
Chris Stapleton can definitely sing the blues but what he doesn’t have for this song is the vocal range to pull off the high notes James Brown sang in the song.
