WTF c.webb the black college down the street. Its NCCU,put some respect on this HBCU.Damn you and alot of top recruits are disrespectful as hell.HBCU were the only place top athletes could go.Now that alot of these white schools want black athletes to make their school money. You and alot of other players take HBCU for granted.Damn shame no pride in your culture.
Bro Matt will be the MJ of NBA post careers...Dude got the Look Respect and Professional Matt will be Hall of Fame Late but bcuz of overall contribute to the Game. WATCH
C. Webb is a true eldest sibling. The way he has handled this whole fab 5 drama is exactly how a big brother handles thing. Regardless of what they say or do you don’t expose what’s going on with your siblings
@@jasonsquiggles7310 nothings going on with his siblings. I was just using the fact that he’s the oldest as why he’s handled the fab 5 situation the way he has
Injuries slowed him down big time , one of the most talented bigs to enter the league , it also hurt him that he played in the same era as Garnett, Duncan and Dirk , Amare is in a similar category they were both a tier below those 3
@@Boss3Nate nahh Duncan and KG was jus as good offensively but better defensively , Webb and Garnett both elite playmakers and Dirk’s offense alone > C webb he was a monster tho , his play was ahead of his time he would fit better today
If the kings would have beat the lakers and won the championship I think people would have a different opinion he gave the shaq Kobe lakers all they could take
Y'all got me in my feelings on this one! CWebb - don't wait for a funeral, please get together with your boys and make peace. We have no idea how short life can be until old friends are gone. Matt and Jack bring a lot of wisdom. KG made me laugh, Kobe made me think, AI made me grateful. But CWebb made me forgive.
@@EliteSports217 then how come they don’t add more questions for Stak in the script? Or he just be low key blowed and adds his trillness when necessary
C Webb one of the realeast. Me & My Bros met him while on tour. He came to the South Bronx & Hung out on the corner In my Hood(PATTERSON PROJECTS)& was the most normal coolest dude ever. He flew us all out to Detroit for the Draft and showed us mad love the whole time...When he hit the NBA(I went to prison) he was still sending for my Bros & Letting them chill in his crib for days...Real dude
Right. I love that!! Without his dad and the fact he RAISED him and not tried to be his friend, he wouldn't be the man he became. Most men speak about their mom and mothers ARE important. BUT, In order for a male to become a MAN...... IT TAKES A STRONG MAN IN HIS LIFE. Most of these women are the reason their sons fail.
They are sooo dam good at this. Peep each episode how matt or stack has a close relationship w the guest. The other person gracefully takes a back seat n let the other run point while they chime in when needed. Chemistry too dope between these men.
Met C-Webb at Baron Davis’s loft next to John Collins in SF. Took his timeout to introduce himself and had BD, Matt Barnes, Al Harrington & Monte Ellis say wusuh to us. Hella respectful and made sure we was comfortable there too. Never forget that day.
41:20 - Chris is a DEEP brotha. In referencing his disappointment, he referenced a song called "Stars" by Janis Ian. Was curious so I looked it up. Check out the 5th verse: " That the ones to give you the Crown Have been let down You try to make amends without defending..." That's deep...Cant wait for his doc to drop.
Big respect to C.Webb seems like he has heard all the noise and felt all the pain since he was young but has been strong enough to either ignore it or move on.. shit is really hard to do
I can tell Matt really is solid to give Chris Webber his flowers on his platform like this thru all the bs just for ppl to see just how beautiful his soul is
That’s crazy cuz that King’s team was probably the best team in King’s history they were light weight stacked they just couldn’t get pass the Lakers during that Shaq and Kobe era
I loved C-Webb on the Kings team, and I was crushed when that team got screwed by the refs and the NBA. I loved him in this interview. Much love and God bless from a Blacktino from Chicago 💯🔥
Finally C.Webb come out and said what we all feel. He was cheated out of a ring. Glad this platform doesn’t censor you from saying what you really feel
Maybe he should hold some accountability of his actions by saying he should’ve played better like KG and Duncan did vs the Lakers in 2003 playoffs. Fun fact: Webber shot a horrid 45% from the ft one in the 2002 WCF and Shaq shot a higher % than him.
Who remembered when CWebb was on Arsenio and Naughty By Nature came out the audience onto the stage.CWebb started freestyling and then Treach closed out with his own freestyle.Good times.
Yep and Webb's freestyle ended with something like "on the court I got bigger hits/than Dolly Parton's got (tits)." I remember Vinny being extra hype saying he was the biggest Fab 5 fan.
Chris Webber will always be one of my favorite basketball players. Thank you for this interview. Matt Barnes is very good at interviewing. The Day C-Webb and Jalen Rose hug each other and cry it out, I'll be right here 😢 😢 with them.
It's much more complicated than that webber ego got in the way along time ago tbh also he gotta make the move jalen rose has reached out several times over the years
Love C.Webb. One of my inspirations as a youngin. Wore #4 because of him. Best interview so far on this show, in my opinion. So raw and so many gems by Chris. You can see the depth of the brotherhood of Matt Barnes and Chris Webber. Chris doesn't do genuine interviews with anyone. This is legendary. Look forward to the doc and books by Chris and his side of the story. Respect fellas, thank you.
C Webb you've always been our favorite! I'm beyond proud of the kind of man you became through the fire 🔥. We know you had a steller Hall of Fame NBA career and was inches away from winning the chip! Continue to be authentic and an example for the shorties! Peace and love from Chicago!
Since C Webb missed that shameless plug opportunity I’ll do it for him. Shoutout to the illustrious North Carolina Central University, “the black college down the road”. EAGLE PRRRRRIIIIDDDDEEEEEEE, AMMMMMPPLLLIIIIIFFFIIIIIEEEDDD 🗣🗣🗣💯‼️‼️‼️
Speaking to what Matt laid out about living your life not realizing your impact...Kevin Garnett gave sooo much love for Webber and how CW was his one that he looked at...KG goes on to be a Hall of Famer and Webb is looked over not because of his game, but what folks feel about him... I just remembered how much KG gave him love...that was epic
The Fab 5 had a big impact on me and my friends. Black socks bald heads rebellious attitude. We grew up being Wolverines we bought blue, white, and black Starter jackets. Much respect to those guys 💯💪🏾
Mr. Matt Barnes & Stephen Jackson. I hope you guys get this comment. Your show is one of the BEST sport talk shows, hands down. For me, it's the humility, HUMANITY, and the AUTHENTICITY, you and Stack bring, and the guests knowing that you understand them, and there is no underhanded subterfuge. They therefore can relax and not have to worry if some 'other' host are going to come with some BS, to sensationalize the interview. What you guys do for our culture is phenomenal. Just the stories of how people come to be what they are and what road they traveled. Chris Webber talking about the socks, MAN, I was a Michigan fan because of the Fab Five !! You two are knocking it out the park. If I had played in the league, y'all woulda been the homies ! Continued success My Brothas. And thanks.
Man this Interview was do inspirational and gave me a better perspective of who Chris Webber is. I felt when he said forgiving yourself and moving on . I needed to hear that.💯💯
Been a huge fan of C. Webb since I could remember....I really appreciate these platforms that really give fans an opportunity to have a more realistic picture of who these individuals we've looked up to truly are. I have so much more respect and admiration for C. Webb after this! Thanks for keeping it a buck!!!
You ain't a real Lakers fan then! Resect to C Webb but Eff the Sac Queens! They gave Bean the burger that put hinm down! Eff Sacramento and I'm a LA native... still reside and been Lakers since 75' Giving the Sac Queens they props and calling them champs? You a fraud
I remember being in high school in the early 2000’s and seeing how dominant Chris Webber was in that era. He’s still Such an underrated PF. All the smoke brings it! Keep up the great work guys! 🏀💨 Edit - I wear black socks everytime I hoop because of the fab five. Much respect for changing the culture!✊🏽
@@elanzankman4399 he wouldnt be sitting next to marv this long if he wasnt good. you think marv would have him next time him all these years if he wasnt?
Chris Webber Jalen Rose Juan Howard and the rest of the Fab five and Michigan team will forever be one of my greatest memories and dreams ever as a little boy.. listening to Chris Webber speak brought some tears to my eyes of joy and regret but mostly Joy because I remember the beautiful feelings I've had from watching them play and being able to dream as a little boy to one day be like them
This is one of the best interviews I've ever watched or listened to. Love from Antigua 🇦🇬. Chris and Matt are my guys. Chris you're so right. I can forgive you and not fuck with you. #FabFive was real. Wish I could shake your hands, but this shake 👋will have to do for now. #GSW
this makes me think about how great it is to have this podcast to show us and give us the inner memories of old basketball. They had kobe, kg, rondo, perkins, e.t.c on top of that ppl of other professions. It's such a greater perspective of memories and future perspectives of what to do after
If you acknowledge your “black” your not woke or have any knowledge on your people. We are aboriginals labeled black as the death people from Neanderthals aka whites. White mean pure an black means death? Ya okay
@@freddycalipari4242 oh stfu. wtf u on about. the money goes to fund the university, education, scholarships, and research. all the university personnel's are transparent and contract based. if the coaches are getting paid in millions, so be it. they are paid well to win, which in turn increases revenue, to make the university better. Don't bring that typical black attitude. If you want money go to NBA. boo hoo. suck it up.
@@freddycalipari4242 nah that don't fly here...what u saying could apply to any other university and or pro team...end of the day he did do what he did...I still like where he seems to be at rn tho
Yup. West was no joke. Think about all the greats that didn’t win rings because of the bulls/lakers/Celtics/Spurs etc... from 2000-2020 only 9 teams have won the championship.
"Mhm" is a validation cue used in therapy. It sends the message of either agreement or continue or "go ahead im listening." That's why this podcast stands out. There's therapy in it which shows how genuine it is
Webber was one of my all time favorites and I think he gets under valued relative to how good he was. He had SF skills in a PF body but was also powerful enough to run at center.
I love all three of these brothers. Real brothers. I was in high school when the fab five made their run. That was a great time in basketball and culturally for brothers like me from the hood. Thank you Matt and Stacks for doing what you brothers do. Peace and Love
