I feel like if they show her being free from jail and she sees that he’s moved on has a family and showing how painful that must be to see, would be a lot more interesting to see for both their characters

That would make 0 sense. Chrissie was with Den in Spain for 6 years, then when she arrived, during her almost 2 year run, she was together with Den and then Jake, then ended up in prison for 19 years. There's no way she could've married someone else.
