I hope this little Georgian family knows how much this means to me. I am an Inquirer into Orthodoxy from America soon to be a Cathecumen, without sharing to much ive not had a stong family presence in my life and this short video means the world to me seeing you all embrace Christ together. Truly it is beautiful Both Saints Nina and Gabriel Urgebadze have become my friends and made themselves known to me, I really have a lot of love for Georgia. God bless 🇺🇸 ☦️ 🇬🇪
Wow what a family ! You all sing great together and you look so REAL and natural. Very beautiful singers and people I am sure. Would love to have you all as neighbours Georgia is a gorgeous country maybe I should move there myself. Getting tired of the siiick western world of fake people full of vanity and materialism. Love from Canada all the best to your family and thank you for singing for us
It’s good to see that there are still some parts of the world that are unscathed. Down with our current situation in the West. We are devoid of spirituality.
Imagine the Second Coming, the resurrection of the dead, and we sing/hear in turns each "Christ is Risen" from all the nations. Start maybe with the somber-sounding versions (Slavic versions, Middle Eastern versions, etc), then move to the regal Byzantine one, then to the triumphant Georgian ones. The Sun on High would Dawn the world with his light, and the music would turn with the sky from black to purple to the Bright Gold of the Kingdom to come. That's gonna be the coolest moment in history, and we will all be there, for better or worse.
They aren’t Georgian. Like me - a plain old American US citizen - just think the Georgian Paschal Troparion is the most beautiful. I learned it too and can’t help but to keep listening to men singing it in 3 part harmony in the Georgian language on repeat. The Georgian (the country) beautiful people were brought to the faith by St. Nina Enlightener of Georgia, Equal-to-the-Apostles in 4th century. Georgians are ancient bred Christians before most other parts of the world were brought the beauty of Christ Jesus’ indwelling of the Holy Spirit. They, and their music are beautiful because of Christ! Peace be upon Georgia and the intercessions of St Nina be for us all. Kriste aghsdga! Cheshmaritad aghsdga! Christ is Risen! Truly He is risen!
Thank you for your performance! i don't know Georgian, so could you write the text of troparion in Georgian, but in english letters (that i could sing with you)?
We're glad you liked it. The easiest thing to do is probably to download the score here: www.artefactinstitute.com/store/5-copy-digital-download-christ-is-risen-georgian-chant
@@ArtefactInstitute Thanks for the link. Does this edition have a translated english version as well? I'm interested in singing it in english as well as Georgian. Thanks
Krist’e aghdga mk’vdretit sik’vdilita sik’vdilisa dam trgun velida saplavebis shinata tskhovrebis mimnich’ebeli. Pronunciation guide: gh -- soft French ‘r’ in back of throat mkv - these are ‘pick-up’ consonants to the sung syllable: -dre. The 'v' consonant ends up being pronounced like 'f'. dre -- like drain, but flip the 'r' very softly, almost inaudibly (no American 'r'!!) trgu - both the ‘t’ and the ‘r’ are produced by the tongue touching the back of the upper teeth, as in the Spanish flipped ‘r’ and adding the normal hard ‘g’ sound, and the 'oo' vowel. This should not be pronounced ‘ch’ as in ‘true.’ ts -- as in cats kh -- also written as ‘x’ in phonetic alphabet, a gutteral sound that should not be over sung. If all else fails, skip it!
@@isaacsommers141 Hey! I case you did not find a translation yet. Here is one version of it in english: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BYwnhXCZ_lY.html
