to livingbeings, the RSV and NIV Bibles at Acts 4:32 have "soul" and "mind" meaning the same: "were of one heart and mind" (NIV), "were of one heart and soul" (RSV) both referring to "... the company of those who believed ...". To in uncertainty believe is the keeping in uncertainty of belief of the inseparability and qualitative equality of thinking mind or soul and having faith heart. Soul/mind is a gift. Sorry guys, you're seeing something that isn't there. I happened to read this comment before watching the video. What do JP and BB have? The gifts of the spirit of knowledge (hence the long answers) whereas one could say Fr. Mike has the gift of wisdom. Remember that BB and FM are coming from the same line of thought, different from JP's. Hence, the natural tendency to turn towards him. And also the moderator is sitting on that side too. I find all 3 had good, balanced eye-contact with each other and the audience within the context. What I really appreciated is that JP let them finish their thoughts! (Which isn't par for the course if you've ever seen any other JP video. LOL. ) Here's a compliment to FM: When he's talking, especially with the commencement of the 3rd question directed at him, look at JP. Although FM won't speak with the same lingo that BB and JP have, JP is focusing on him like a hawk. You can see that FM's words are stimulating him. That's a remarkable show of respect.

That may not be a favor. Christ's death and resurrection made it possible for any man to directly speak to God himself and to hear him as well (if he is humble, repents, and rejects evil). @@marisamartin3664 you go to Jesus through Mary, and that’s very biblical. Jesus entered the world through her womb in the nativity. Jesus was presented in the temple by Mary and Joseph, and Simeon told Mary a sword would pierce her heart. when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting in the visitation, John the Baptist leapt for joy in Elizabeth’s womb. All of the sorrows and the passion of Christ were partaken by Mary as well, because she watched her beloved son suffer mightily for all Mankind. Jesus’ dying words on the cross were woman behold your son and then disciple behold your mother. His last will and testament was to give his blessed mother to the disciples. Mary was there with the twelve apostles when the Holy Spirit descended at Pentecost. Marian devotion is very biblical, just like the Trinity. Mary is our mother and she has already obtained Graces in my life from God I am eternally grateful for. to Jenny Anzaldua, I appreciate and thank you for your post response on help from Jordan Peterson. For me the Catholic Church is a procreation gift role helper of families in their members' identity-roles. I do not believe (in uncertainty as all belief by definition is in uncertainty, otherwise it is knowing) one can be "converted into the Catholic Church" as a procreation gift role. I believe that the Catholic Church and Catholicism are not family member/group identities in need of union but instead are procreation gift roles. Particularly on 17 June 2021, Pope Francis in his identity role as a consecrated celibate married by vows to man in Christ by his consecrated celibate marriage's exercise of an absolute power of authorisation simultaneously authorised it ensuring and it insuring. This corrected this inversion of gift role and identity need both in Pope Francis' own particular case and in the general case keeping the inseparability and qualitative equality of these cases of: (a) embezzlements of his ensuring procreation role gift charity donations by ten of his Vatican state citizens/employees, including Cardinal Angelo Becciu (all convicted/sentenced of/for this criminal offence in his Vatican state criminal court on 18 December 2023 on indictments authorised by Pope Francis' consecrated celibate marriage on 17 June 2021), (b)an unacceptable risk of fraud on his insuring his family member identity as a consecrated celibate marred by vows to man in Christ in need of union at unacceptable risk of fraud by the Italian state Parliament "Zan" anti-homophobia bill then defeated in early November 2021 after a protest note against this bill authorised by Pope Francis' consecrated celibate marriage. best, Oliver Clark, age 77, anglo-catholic accredited catechist of roman catholic church gift role group religion in the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Australia, joined in consecrated marriages, male female from 1991 (8 children) then celibate from 2017 on the death of my wife, and continuing.

JP is no biblical scholar, so I'm sorry, but he should not have affected you in that way. He adds a lot that isn't there and ignores a lot that is. The bible has a mix of both good and bad, as we would expect it to if it were written by fallible human beings. What I cannot abide by, however, is someone denying the evil that's clearly in that book. "God" demanding the deaths of infants, that people do such killing for Him, is evil. It is simply wrong to defend the ancients' excuse for such slaughter, that a "perfectly good" God told them to do it. No, they did it for reasons no different than the other genocidal tribes of their time. One must suffer from extreme cognitive dissonance to call such barbarity "good".

I am a Christian of the baptist denomination who at this time does not believe that any particular denomination is "THE right one for everyone" but that an unknowable subset, proper or improper, of all who believe Jesus is the Son of God who died and rose again are "with Him". Not that I am saying this "selection" is "random" of course. We have the bible and the Spirit to guide us to Him. Whether Jordan is saved or not, I wholeheartedly agree that His humble admission of lack in full understanding of Jesus here is endearing and reveals my own perhaps vastly larger gaps in understanding. I accept and believe in Jesus my saviour and what He has done as fact yet have such a shallow understanding the specifics of what He accomplished on the cross in taking the wages of my sins on Himself, and precisely how I ought to respond to that (e.g., do I have to urgently recall and confess every sin in life as a prerequisite to join Him after death, or is (continual) confession not a prerequisite but simply a call to become accountable to fellow believers to help me to stop sinning so that, through His Spirit, I can grow to become more Christ-like, uninhibited, so that I can then more accurately present Christ to the world, so that others can see through my depraved nature to His true beauty? Sometimes I feel that the former potentially does not give Christ enough credit for His ultimate sacrifice.). The whole Christian denomination thing and one denomination saying they are more right than others has me worried. Worried if they're right because what does that mean for everyone else? Worried if they're wrong because, then, why do they say that and what are the consequences for those who believe them? Worried that I am in the wrong because Philippians 4:6 says not to worry lol. I don't know if Dr. Petersen reads the comments. But I've always found this analogy helpful regarding why we are here on Earth, even though Christ made the ultimate Sacrifice for our sins. When I was about 10 years old, I got really made and punched my parents' screen door several times, breaking the glass on the other side of the screen. Being 10, I had no money to repair the door, and so my parents paid for the repairs for me. But I was still responsible for what happened, and I did chores and punishment to make up for it. In the same way, we have no way of repaying the damage of original sin and opening the seal of Eden ourselves. So Jesus did it for us. But we are still responsible for our sinful nature and must spend our lives to know, love, and serve God in return.

HEBREWS 8:12. “For I will FORGIVE their inequities AND REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE.” God doesn’t remember your sins. The sin debt has been paid fully. Believers are told to rest in Christ, MATTHEW 11:28-30. Jesus did it ALL.
@ToddJambon

@suzannemcmaken4648 Just because God doesn't remember them doesn't mean you don't need to repent or do better. It sounds like you might be a once saved, always saved protestant. But the Catholic Church believes that you can lose your salvation. In my above example, had I never done anything to make up for my actions, I would have put a wall up between me and my parents.

@@nzadventurefamily3728I think it depends *heavily* upon what type of Protestant you are. I’m LCMS and I loved this conversation. Those of us who fall closer in line to Catholicism and attend liturgical services are probably a lot more open to these ideas. I’ve found in my explorations of the last few years that I generally find myself in broad disagreement with more of Protestantism than Catholicism or Orthodoxy. Doesn’t mean I want to convert or anything, it’s just that some of us are more in alignment than one might think.

Wholeheartedly agree with Fr. Mike: we have to individually conquer death by being fully ready to forever submit to God as sons of God. The last enemy to be defeated is death. When we have each conquered our own selves enough to fully submit to Christ forever and ever in our resurrected bodies, then we have overcome and our part is mostly finished, except for serving Christ for all of our glorious days.

I grew up in a fundamentalist baptist church that taught that all you have to do be saved is to believe in Jesus, and I was also quite rebellious growing up so I used that claim of merely believing to justify that I can continue living in sin and so naturally I fell away from faith. As an adult I realized that I need to pursue a life of virtue in order to adequately become a man (and a husband and father), and this pursuit of virtue eventually led to an encounter with Christ in my heart where I was very much wrestling with God because I habituated so much sin in my life. Long story short, this led me to the Orthodox Church where I am now a baptized Orthodox Christian. In the Orthodox faith there is a strong emphasis on being co-crucified with Christ and being United with Christ through uniting your own personal outer and inner crosses with the Cross of Christ. This is perfectly in line with the Bible as Saint Paul says in Galatians ““For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” And so you see in Saint Paul’s expression of his own inner life with Christ that faith in Christ is not just believing in Him, but it’s dying to yourself, meaning that we die to our attachments to the world as well as dying to our desire for being attached to the world, and through this dying with Christ and being resurrected with Him. Meaning that the Risen Lord now lives in our heart. This of course must take place within the context of the Sacramental and mystical life of the Church. Dying and rising with Christ through baptism, being sealed with the Holy Spirit in Chrismation, and receiving Christ continually through the reception of the Eucharist. But it’s not just that either, we also must live the life of the Church out in our daily life through a daily struggle against our attachments and inordinate desires along with the life of God now working in and through our life, which sanctifies and transforms our entire being. I think this depth of faith is missed within various Protestant traditions, namely due to their lack of reverence for the Saints, the people who have indeed lived out this transformation in the life of Christ in them. The Saints proclaim the Gospel of the incarnation of Christ in their own life. They are the empirical data of and the proof of the resurrection of Christ. Take Saint Seraphim of Sarov as an example whose body shined with the Light of Christ, as Christ shined in the transfiguration on Mount Tabor. Or take Saint John of Shanghai and San Fransisco as an example who is known as a miracle worker of Christ even after his own death. These are people who truly loved their life as being crucified with Christ and can rightfully say along with Saint Paul that it is no longer I who live but it is Christ who lives in me and the life that I now live I live in the flesh I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. These are people who truly strove for virtue, and not only did they become virtuous, but they became a vessel of God’s life and through their own struggle and God’s life in them were able to transmit God’s life to other people that were looking for God’s love in this fallen world.

to eric wood, "merely believing" as in uncertainty (as belief by definition is in uncertainty, otherwise it is knowing) is keeping in this uncertainty in present moment in real presence the inseparability and qualitative equality of thinking action and having faith been. Such believing cannot be used to justify inaction or improper actions since thinking action with having faith been (or 'being' as misspelt) are its components. Consider who benefited by tax-exemption embezzlements and lower insurance cost by fraud by the masquerading of in uncertainty belief as faith in falsely purporting presuming separation and non-qualitative equality of thinking action and having faith been? Are you aware of the economic and non-economic advantages of the "multiplier effect" (first described in 1930 for international economic production and trade advantages and non-economic advantages) in keeping in uncertainty of belief of the inseparability and qualitative equality of economic processes and non-economic progress? Only consecrated marriage, celibate or male female, exercising an absolute power of simultaneous authorisations of it ensuring and it insuring out occults this occult, incest connected, false inducement of purported presumed "higher vocation" (Pope St John Paul 2's Council for the Family "Guidelines", TTMHS, PCF, 1995, 35; cf. St Paul, 1Cor7:25-34) or "higher way of love" (Bishop Barron, 20 July 2022 at You Tube podcast time 51:46 of his interview by Lex Fridman on "Christianity and the Catholic Church") of consecrated celibate marriage vowed to man in Christ to consecrated male female marriage vowed to God. If not consenting in uncertainty of belief in present moment real presence in one's particular circumstances to be joined in a consecrated marriage, celibate vowed to man in Christ or male female vowed to God, on the reference point of Mary keeping in uncertainty of her belief the inseparability and qualitative equality of her consents to her two consecrated marriages, celibate at Lk1:29-45, particularly v.38: "let it be to me", and male female at Mt1: 24: "Joseph ... took his wife", neither the marriage nor any individual can be aware of as in uncertainty believing, let alone withstand the extreme tensions caused by this occult, incest connected grooming evil for economic advantage of families of these groomers of psychologically and emotionally vulnerable family members in their helper of the family procreation gift roles by inducements of tax-exemptions by embezzlements and lower insurance cost by fraud in their identities in need of union with this non-economic false "higher vocation" inducement in their procreation gift roles. What is the falsely purported presumed singular plural inversion by this occult evil is inversion of 'do' plural procreation gift role and 'be' singular identity in need of union with disastrous effects including homosexuality and as worse same sex purported presumed falsely marriages.

Biblically, all you have to do to be saved is to believe in Jesus. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 4 also talks about why Abraham's faith was counted to him as righteousness. Real belief has real results. Do you have any biblical issues with protestant beliefs?

@@heatherd4492 John 6:53 adds a stipulation Heather. just as the Hebrews covered their doorways with lambs blood so death would pass them by (I wonder how many ignored Moses?) Jesus tells us that we must identify ourselves through the celebration and belief in the bread and wine. Our sin came into the world through consumption of forbidden fruit so the antidote is to honor Jesus's request. In John 6:55 Jesus says his body is REAL food and REAL drink. I don't know how he could be any clearer.

My comment was (obviously) meant as a tongue in cheek way of thanking God for a situation such as this, where 3 educated and well-meaning men can freely come together to discuss the very Nature of God, and enable us to watch and listen in. God gives us gifts daily, in every moment. I was thanking God for the blessing He has given us in these 3 men of good character who seek and talk about Truth and use their God-given intellect to provide others with deep thought, and plenty of food for further thought and spiritual growth. Clearly I wasn't referring to God's great Gift of His Son, but just one of the almost infinite gifts he gives us everyday. These men have helped to bring countless people to God and to responsible citizenship. I am very grateful for these men who have responded so powerfully to God's call.❤

This dialogue really sent a lightbulb moment off for me. When Jordan talks about self awareness being no different than misery and negative emotions. I take that and infer that today’s society of young people are obsessed with the pursuit of healing oneself through self awareness and essentially creating your reality (manifesting and popular spiritual beliefs). Whereas if you instead don’t focus on “healing” yourself but allow Christ to heal and practice His teachings, be subservient to Him, your husband, to your family, you will be ultimately healed. This is huge for me because I’ve always considered myself extremely self aware and saw it as a curse but also a blessing but looking at it through this framework I see I’m disadvantaging myself by putting my focus on what I can do to save myself where I should be focusing on Christ and what He has already done to save me.
