Putting my new Orvis 11ft 7# Clearwater switch rod through its paces with a wonderful 12lb Welsh Dee salmon caught in Duncan’s Pool @ Llangollen. It fell for a copper bodied Stoats tail fished deep.

What a nice one! I have the exact same rod. I was wondering what fly line are you using?

I use a 6# Rio Scandi Short Versi line. My rod is rated at 7# but a 7# line overloads the rod. Hope this helps.
