I have been delivered, and as God is no respecter of persons, and wants us to not be mastered by anything, He will heal you too, in Jesus name. Please don't be afraid to keep asking until He gives you what you want - sometimes prayer answers are instantaneous and sometimes He has a plan for you that is perfect beyond your wildest dreams that comes from the experiences in the waiting. Just remember, He never wants you to sin, and He doesn't tempt you - the enemy is the only one who does this. I’m amazed at the perfect timing of this. I’ve been realizing recently that in order to draw closer to and fully experience God, I have to somehow let go of some life long obsessive, addictive ways of thinking. It’s very difficult for me because it’s hyperfixation and obsessively thinking about specific things on rotation, which is the way my mind has been wired ever since I was a small child. It’s not like an addiction I developed, it’s the default way my mind works, so that makes it so much more difficult. And I’ve heard literally no one talk about neurodivergent obsession’s affect on Christians. I don’t know if I can do it, but I have to try to get rid of it this obsessive mindset and take my thoughts captive because it takes up hours of my day and is toxic honestly. My relationship with God cannot prosper if I’m constantly craving the next hyperfixation’s dopamine hit.

I struggle w an addiction to pornography. Relapsed today. I prayed and cried out to God. I told my girlfriend which always devastates her but I’m giving her space. Rn I’ll listen to this and try to calm my heart and mind

If you really want to kick this addiction, you gotta say this prayer and say it with conviction. It helped deliver me of mine.. I renounce all sexual sin that I have been involved with in the past, including fornication, masturbation, pornography, perversion, fantasy, and adultery in the name of Jesus.

IMO laziness is not more or less ungodly than any other sin. And like any other sin, we cannot overcome laziness merely by self-will, self-effort. It is through the Holy Spirit that are we empowered to conquer addictions and besetting sins

hi everyone, im in the process of converting to Christianity. Im from a muslim majority country and we have been taught about islam our whole life so im having difficulties adapting. I never had any christian family members so im not familiar with your traditions. This felt like a safe place to ask for advice since asmr community has always been very understanding, please dont judge me. It would be great if you could tell me how it affected your life growing up with this belief, what are your traditions when getting married, loss of a loved one, praying etc. P/s i will be becoming a protestant

I think the real issue is the short form content. It is ridiculously addictive. Like the dopamine hits are off the charts. Long form content is both entertaining and somewhat less addictive. For example, if you like minecraft then maybe you watch Forge Labs. The dude puts out 1~3 hour long videos. Its really hard to sit in once place and watch it so often I take breaks to do other things. I think a good range to stick to for content would be 20~40 minutes probably. That gives you enough time to relax and calm down while also providing entertainment. Once its done you will probably feel refreshed and ready to get back to whatever you were doing before. Or I also use it as background noise to help with my ADHD.

Crazy timing, I’m trying to Kick a drinking habit, I’m In the military reserves so other substances, weed/shrooms aren’t an option nor is it better rather just less harmful. I’ve been drinking a lot, 12 packs on my own. I workout every day and work full time as well as a full time student. I’m not an everyday drinker, 1-2 times a week, but I drink by myself And it only leads to lustful thoughts. Tomorrow will be day one clean. Just not sure if total abstinence is the way or just being responsible and keeping it to special occasions.

Good luck! Binge drinking is definitely no good but I think drinking in moderation (like 2 drinks max at social events) is okay as long as you’re not an alcoholic. You’ll know if you are or not if you’re able to go dry for a month fairly easily.

Hey! I've done a couple of things. I deleted RU-vid and instagram off of my phone. I only check those on my laptop, and im trying to stay on guard with how much I check. I also started reading Lord of the Rings, during the times that I would normally be scrolling on my phone. Of course, pray about it and ask the Lord for wisdom on how you can best combat this addiction.

Yes I've done that and currently doing it (praying to him). I also have started reading a book at night time by TD Jakes that takes my mind off phone.. and I tried deleting Facebook off my phone but ended up installing it again couple days later.. so it takes TOTAL DISCIPLINE truly.. thank you for taking the time to reply to some random persons concern.. means a lot.. There's a verse in the bible that I feel fits here.. 1Peter 5:9 Stand against him, firm in your trust, knowing that your brothers throughout the world are going through THE SAME KINDS OF SUFFERING"
