In a recent interview, Christian Eriksen said that he "does not remember anything" as he collapsed on the field during Denmark's Euro 2020 match against Finland in Copenhagen.
But insisted he had no fear that he would suffer another cardiac arrest as he plans to resume his football career.
Looking to the future he is targeting a comeback from his cardiac arrest to play for Denmark in the World Cup in November. However, the 29-year-old Eriksen has not played since collapsing during Denmark’s opening match at the European Championship against Finland in June and has been released by Inter Milan.

Learn CPR and know where the nearest AED is located. Sudden Cardiac Death can happen to anyone at anytime. If you experience burning chest sensation, shortness of breath, dizziness, confusion and somehow you made it out of the arrhythmia without going into SCA. Get to the ER asap, you could've have been close to SCA. Whether you are working out, waking up, resting it doesn't matter.
@ΠαναγιωτηςΑγγελ

Scary stuff. This blackness he talks about when he collapsed can't be described as anything other than grim death. A big nothing. For a few minutes, it was only a shell of a human lying there in the grass. Christian wasn't there anymore. He knows what it's like to be dead, and his experience was precisely that: nothing. He felt nothing. That's what death is. Cherish your lives, people. There is no sequel.

As someone with Epilepsy.. its very similar except instead of your heart its just your mind deciding to take a nap and shut down suddenly. Now its not bad.. its a 5 minute power nap as if your phone screen suddenly locked or shut off. Whats bad is that you dont know WHEN its gona happen sooo it can be at any time and any place. On the stret at home at school at work on a bus in the middle of nowhere. Its just random. There are no dreams You just wake up suddenly in a slight daze and quite possibly soil yourself. I take meds for it and im fine now tho.

I feel you brother, I have the same. Allthough I feel it coming because I have this weird feeling in my stomach and it raises to my head, which means I'm gonna fall and shake on the ground. If I don't sit down or just take a break then I fall on the ground. But you're right it feels like you fall asleep and when you wake up you don't know what happened with a headache and feel tired (and of course people around you who are very concerned)

It happened the same thing to me while i was sleeping , i felt my heart suddenly shut down and i went to a dark place where i couldn't feel time passing , see anything , think with my brain or feel emotions or anything else , i was just a dot in the universe that felt nothing , i just existed!!!! It was so scary!!! After that i didnt know how long it passed but my heart came back and i woke up in the middle of the night with my heart beating so fast and hard that i couldnt believe this happened to me for real. After i faced reality of death ive become another person , good or bad it changed me for sure...

I would get your heart checked out. However, what happened to you is not the same thing that happened to Eriksen. When you heart stops it won’t ever come back on it’s own, you need an electrical shock. Eriksen, and anyone else with the same acute condition, would have a 100% mortality rate without it.

In my opinion, Inter and Tottenham should be investigated. It is very strange that in both countries whose laws are very restrictive in relation to a player wearing such a protective device, such clubs have not detected such a problem in the player during medical examinations. It is quite possible that these clubs sabotaged the exam results to take advantage of Christian, forgetting the value of human life.
@agffans5725
@agffans5725 2 года назад
since 2019 Daley Blind has been playing as a regular starter for Ajax and the Netherlands, including in all their games at the Euro-20 with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator just like Eriksen, so this is not going to be exceptionally strange at all.
@davidnatan16
@davidnatan16 2 года назад
Exactly. However, my surprise is related to the fact that the two clubs he played for never detected this problem at Eriksen, since Italy and England do not let the player work with this defibrillator, which in theory would justify the respective clubs to hide or circumvent this medical report. At the very least, the case deserves an investigation. Maybe he's not the only one.
@agffans5725
@agffans5725 2 года назад
@@davidnatan16 .. To my knowledge only Italy do not allow a defibrillator. In fact, several month ago, the Danish football news media quoted English FA experts saying that Eriksen was good to go. All the test results are showing that he has no heart damage or problem, but the defibrillator is mandatory in Denmark in a situation like like this, just in case.
@davidnatan16
@davidnatan16 2 года назад
As he goes to Brentford, England has no restrictions on such cases. But even so, in the case of Italy, I think it would be prudent to investigate, not only Inter, but all clubs in that country in general. And I think it's wrong for Eriksen to play again, he should follow Agüero's example.
@agffans5725
@agffans5725 2 года назад
@@davidnatan16 .. An ICD is mandatory by regulation in Denmark if you have suffered heart failure of any kind. So you are simply not being allowed to leave the hospital without one in Denmark, no matter how small or big an issue it was, or if there seem to be no damage, as in the case of Eriksen. Eriksen was "gone" for 3 to 4 minutes according to the Danish NT staff. He was fully aware and awake straight after the incident, even correcting one of the doctors who said "he is 30", with Eriksen responding "no, no, I'm only 29". The Kingdom Hospital (Riget or Rigshospitalet), where he went, is the most highly specialized hospital in Denmark, besides the more modern one in Aarhus, and is almost right beside Parken stadium, in walking distance and so close, that he could both see and hear the stadium from the hospital. From his hospital bed, he also talked on facetime with his team-mates right after the incident, and they asked him if they should agree to play the rest of the Finland game and he then watched the last 20 minutes of the game from his bed in the hospital, and also all the rest of the Denmark games at the Euro-20, though feeling a bit unhappy at first, not being able to play himself, but getting in much better mood as the tournament progressed. He has said that he was quite worried at first, calling the expert doctors quite often to ask if he could do this or that, but they told him that there were little to no risk and should something happen against all odds, the ICD will kick in and keep him safe, so because he was feeling great, also training at his usual level, and after all the experts gave him the "green light" to play at top level, he and his parents and girlfriend agreed that if it was his great wish to keep playing, then he should do it to the full and pursue his goal, which is to play for Denmark at the WC-22 and so he signed with Brentford. So he feel in top shape and everything has been agreed to and cleared by specialists and his family.
