@joshyacub Zak Brown fired a great driver. Blamed the driver instead of placing the blame where it belongs - with the car. And then Zak was super distespectful to Daniel. The best team on the grid says that same driver is ready to drive the best car on the grid. Right now. Today. There are probably three guys on the grid right now that Horner would say that about. Zak looks sick to his stomach because he realizes that firing Daniel was not a good move. Christian Horner is taking a shot at Zak by suggesting Daniel could step up and replace Sergio immediately. Horner is also showing Zak the acceptable way to treat a driver. If you understand what's going on, this is great stuff.

I do not like Horner but I 'll admit that was a subtle and warranted jab to Mclaren and I appreciate his care and empathy for RIC. RIC dug his own hole but he's in a good space and if Ferrari continue to underperform we'll hear his name over the summer as a potential Sainz replacement.

He didn't clash with Max, he just saw that RB was going to make him the second driver, you could see it already happening and Daniel saw he would have to fight Max and the team. So he moved elsewhere. You can see how Checo has no chance, both in 2021 and 2022 they did not let them fight and every time Max was behind Checo had to move. That's basically what they expect from Daniel if they ever give him the seat again.

Paul Walsh, Executive Chairman of McLaren needs to get rid of Brown. He has taken out his scapegoat in Ricciardo and there is no one left to blame.

They took a step back with the new regs, but even last year they were still fighting for 4th despite having only one driver scoring points. They have been saying 2025 for a long time. That has been their plan.

Do people not remember how terrible McLaren were before this current group took over? They were a 9th place team that only scored points because they had Alonso. They had no money. Now they have the money to bring their facilities into the 21st century. They have moved up to the midfield. This year the car struggles with qualifying but has good race pace, as shown yesterday when Lando was fighting for points on merit, with Piastri not too far behind.

@@TonVanDerAa That was for covid, that's when Bahrain investment showed up and buy stakes from the team, Unlike Ferrari, Mclaren Sports Vehicule sales were not so great during the pandemic, they sold old cars, sold part the MTC and Bahrain invesment fond buy part of the stakes, the situation got stable, they've build a terrible car, but money got stable, also they upgraded the factory so they've recovered part of the investment with the new Wind tunnel and new simulator, so there's no need to rent the toyota wind tunnel anymore.

However, they are now financially stable enough to make significant investments in their facilities. They are stable enough to expand full time into IndyCar. I think it's hilarious but it's fairly easy for Christian to sit back now and have some fun with it, he's in the position where he can have fun with it. At the end of the day Daniel leaving Redbull and bouncing around to Renault and Mclaren were all brutal career moves by Daniel, simply because he couldn't handle being #2 next to Max. Now he's #3 to Max. You can't blame Zak for moving on with Daniel he wasn't performing on the consistent level they need, and if it's not the driver performing it's the car not performing so when the car is performing you can't have a driver who is now not going to do anything with it. You can't rely on safety cars, DNF's, and restarts to win races.
