I always get second hand embarrassment for christians and I’m not even a believer. Muslims have justifications to believe in their holy book, christians don’t. Sheikh Uthman I reverted recently in late November 2021 and I've been practicing as well as I can at home by myself. I said the shahada alone as well and idk if that counts but before I did so I read that it does as long as the belief is within you and you're sincere about it. So I live in Oregon near OSU. I've been desiring to call the local Islamic Center and go there for my official shahada as well as to establish myself in the community and meet some of my amazing new brothers and sisters. My anxiety is the only thing holding me back and while Allah swt does help me with it and alhamdulillah I'm more than grateful for that, I still struggle very much though. Before finding Islam it was VERY severe and it still is sometimes and even when it's not it's very hard to deal with. I can have an irrational fear and know it's irrational but still be scared and it's very confusing and hard to handle. It's like my mind is attacking itself at times and sabotaging what good I desire to do. I'm writing all of this to ask, do you have any tips to help me get control over my mind and become less fearful and stressed? And secondly, do you have a recommendation for a Masjid or Islamic Center in or around the city of Corvallis? Jazakallahu khair to anyone who may take the time to reply or even just read this. May Allah swt bless us all and grant us courage and take away our unnecessary fears 🤲 Alhamdulillah for His (swt) guidance upon the straight path
Brother. Live your life normally and trust allah and read Qur'an or listen to recitation of Qur'an and look for muslim comunity in your area and try to not be alone. According to bible Jesus (pbuh) was lower than angels for sometime (heb 2:9) . How can God be lower than angels for sometime ? Jesus (pbuh) washed his disciples feet (john 13:5-6). How can God wash human feet ? Jesus (pbuh) said i can of my own self do nothing (john 5:30). How can God say i can of my own self do nothing. ? Jesus prayed and called to God helplessly (mathew 27:46). How can one God pray to another God helplessly ? And who is real God amongst these two ?

In Pakistan, we often blame our mullahs (not all of them) for not being knowledgeable enough and there's a truth to that especially when it comes to the clergy coming from rural background. But man, these Christian pastors are on some other level when it comes to ignorance. At least Muslim clergies memorize their book. Christian pastors don't even do that.
It’s embarrassing with the double standard lol… during the 9/11 times till the war in Syria it was really hard for me getting targeted and questioned and I didn’t have that kind of knowledge at that time and I’m still learning daily and Alhamudulillah now I can defend myself with these knowledge. In Sha Allah I would increase my knowledge and passed it around and would invite them to the truth.
What's with Christians thinking it is all about numbers on converting? first, our job is to convey the message and hidayah comes from Allah. second, for reverts, it is as if he is a baby clean slate and it is just the beginning of their lives and these reverts have to work hard to please Allah till death comes.
