Actress Christian Serratos has some iconic shoes to fill in her new show “Selena: The Series.” Serratos plays the late singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, who was murdered in 1995 at just 23 years old.
“Extra’s” Jenn Lahmers caught up with Christian, who said Selena’s accessibility was part of what made her so special. “She was so reachable and connected so much with her audience.”
Christian said she felt connected to Selena during filming, too. “You feel her presence when you’re on set,” she said, adding, “I really feel like this wouldn’t have been possible without her approval… We just wanted to show her respect and care throughout the entire filming process.”
The new show debuts on Netflix December 4, 2020
