Christian Siriano: Making Fashion Assertive | Breaking Big | OZY 

I have been watching Project Runway for 19 seasons. He was my favourite from the beginning and he will always be the ONE. So happy that all the promise that WE all saw in his 22 year old self came true ( and beyond!) And his family seems so sweet and encouraging. That explains how he seems so positive and has such a healthy self esteem . Genius like YSL were - unfortunately- not so lucky 🤔

How can someone be so successful and yet remain so humble? His Mom raised him and his sister well.

I had been working in fashion for twenty years in New York and can honestly say I knew pattern makers with a life time of experience that would take two weeks to do what Christian at the young age of twenty one would do in two days on Project Runway. I was impressed by him then. I am in awe now of the man he has become.

The moment with Leslie Jones always makes me cry. Speaks for his character.

Christian is, in my humble opinion, one of the best designers ever. His passion, his heart, his eye for creating designs for every woman, every size, is truly amazing. He brings a sincerity to the fashion world that has been lacking for so long. To ensure that his line is available to all women, is the mark of a legend....to want every woman to feel transformed when they wear his designs...will ensure his place in fashion immortality. When a designers first and foremost dream is to give women a sense of belonging no matter their size or shape, that elevates their designs to more than just fabric....his heart and soul is sewn into every stitch. The name Christian Siriano will be legendary for many, many years to come. I would love to see him do a series that can help women over 60, like myself, take their age, their size, their shape and help them see past the number of years in their age to feel fabulous again, and if he needs a model....I’m his gal. Bravo Christian! You have a sincere fan in this 60 something grandma.😊

He has worked so hard and I’m so proud and happy how far he has come. Over 10 years he won and he’s still going strong and getting bigger!

Watching Project Runway and Christian Siriano made look me at myself and say why not? What am I waiting for?I began to take my desire to do art seriously as i watched Project Runway every time it came on, I listened to the lessons of make it work and being fierce. I began painting and doing my quilt work and teaching others the little art I knew . Soon I began to win awards who knew a elder woman from an under-served population had a voice and could use it. I still hear his voice say be fierce. I am turning 65 this year and know some amazing things are going to happen. No matter your age or size be fierce. Thank you Christian and your work is beyond fabulous.

Every once in a while along comes a genius.....a truly gifted human being. Good for the world.

I watched the Project Runway he won...fabulous guy...always positive and helping others. He really knows a womans body, all shapes and sizes. I absolutely love Christian Siriano. Saw him on Project Runway back in the day. I think the only challenge where he was in the bottom involved a high schooler (he had to design a prom dress for her, I'll just say she didn't have model measurements, but I don't think that was the biggest challenge for him...she took control and he didn't show his fierceness)...love how it came back around and he showed what he could truly do.

Every Thursday night we 3 besties would watch Project Runway & we watched each week & betweenbthe 3 of us judged the creations the inspiration & work that went into each piece. I like the fact that I could wear a lot of these clothes because I'm an average woman. Not a flamboyant, not a diva, not a rock star and the only time you'll see me on the red carpet is the one I walked on at the rug store. His designs didn't leave us out. Then there's those wedding gowns. I've never seen such fabric as he used. Gorgeous. Some simply elegant. Not trying to be over the top like a lot of those at Klienfields, that look like a circus. It's such a dog eat dog world to get into. Can't sit back for an instant. Well, hopefully now he can just a bit, while people behind him are trying wedge their way in. Have to pay your dues. As a young person I wanted to model. My mom worked for Lerner's in California and Heartfields in Detroit, Michigan. Was always around fashion and art. I knew how to walk a runway, pivots and all. But because of my height I was constantly rejected. Then I was told that my hair was long and pretty, cheek bones were perfect but I was to dark. So when you reached out to the comedian my heart yelled "YES"!!!! I thank God for you and praying that you never let anyone take your compassion from you. Gina

I loved him and routed for him when I first saw him on Project Runway. He is amazingly talented, has a wonderful personality, and is a real cutie! I am so glad for his success and watch his runway shows on RU-vid all the time. His mother is obviously, and rightfully so, very proud of her son. I will never forget when one of his fellow competitors on PR brought into the workroom in a bag, it was hilarious, great moment.
