leviticus 19:28 your not suppose to have tattoos like it says you shouldn’t cut yourself so no poking needles into your skin or getting piercings

Context is key. Its because at the time it was connected to worshipping false Gods i believe and it was culture then. Some, including me, does not believe it applies to contemporary practices.
