I love that song it’s my favorite Kelly Clarkson song still! Xtina addressed it like in 2003-2004 live on TRL she sent a public message to Kelly Clarkson about it--that the shady producers/writers in a very shady way gave the song away before Xtina could finish it (probably would have been for Stripped or Back to Basics possibly) but that Christina was glad that if anything that it went to Kelly; and that she gave the song justice. It was cool. That video is still on RU-vid.

Christina's interview with Andy Cohen I felt was pretty cool as well. I think she's just a shy person in general and people put her in a defensive mood by *_still_* asking her dumb questions, but overall I don't think she's all that awkward.

I am so glad finally somebody mentioned how SPECIAL Christina Aguilera's head voice is. It is so angelic and pure. Her use of it in her "Love's Embrace Interlude" is my alarm to this day. It's like I wake up to heavenly hymns.

Christina Aguilera is so pure and real that sometimes she felt so shy in the interview but at the same time she looked so comfortable, it is because Kelly is like an adorable girl with all her guests that the conversation turns so fun and friendly, the Best show ever!
I just read somewhere a thread about why Xtina's legacy isn't as strong as her peers (or so they think) but the thing about her is that I don't think she makes music based on whether she thinks it'll chart or it's going to be a hit, I think she makes music based on how she wants to express herself at the moment, and that might not be faring well with the audience these days. But she is a true artist and an icon for me and for so many people. I don't think she's a diva, I think she's misunderstood and the media just like to create this narrative that she's bad because they love pitting women against each other. The thing with Mary J was a misunderstanding it was later revealed. She's just living her best life right now not wanting to be in the headlines or the talk of the town anymore. And good for her!
mainstream music is ignoring real vocalists over studio produced/ vocally enhanced singers. It's a shame. So many of today's singer sound whinny with thin voices..yes including ariana. Then a good amount also has the moaning/whisper half british indie pop voice that became a norm.

@@jonnyfendi2003 The whole drama's evolving around her just ended around 2003-2004 I guess, because the whole "bitch" and "strong rebel woman" persona she put on during Stripped Era that rubbed ppl the wrong way. But I believe she's made amend with Mary, she performed on one of Mary's concert in 2011 (search it up). She's always spoken against the industry and the press that like to put women against each other and stir up drama (like what happened with her and Mariah and Britney). She loves women artists that came after her like Demi, Ariana, Kelly, Jennifer, defended Lady Gaga and so on (but of course ppl like you always cherry pick her worst moments to make her look like a bad person)
I pray that Kelly's show stays on the air for a LONG time because she's very personable, funny, talented and all around great person to listen to. And to have an icon like Christina Aguilera is great signs of what's to come.

She's one of four writers (including Kelly) on that song. It was originally titled 'Miss Independence' when Christina was involved with it. It wasn't finished. When it was passed on to Kelly, another writer and Kelly finished the song and the producer suggested changing the name to 'Miss Independent.'
This show is so great because nothing is forced. It's easy to let your guard down when you're sitting across from a genuine person with genuine energy that isn't forced. People feed off it and it allows them to be themselves. So refreshing!
Kelly's mad in a good way. She's such a crazy kid at heart and obviously has a phenomenal voice. But, that Christina is a goddess. I don't even know where to start. Thank you Aguilera for existing in our times.....
When Christina says it has such a gentle sweet and more high-pitched voice, and you aren't expecting that vocal at all. That low strong voice pouring out and you got what just happened !? Amazing!
To this day Christina Aguilera his voice has yet to be beat. Hers goes so deep and raspy is so rare it’s not squeaky like a mouse, Kelly’s voice is amazing too.

I love "Hurt"!!!! That's one of her best song vocally! I love Kelly having her own talk show because she can genuinely point out vocal points like Christina's head voice.
I'm about to cry. This is my CHILDHOOD. Stripped was one of my first albums as a kid, and I loved Kelly Clarksons, two white women with sooo much soul and passion.
