Christina was one of the first pop stars to collaborate with Nicki. Always ahead of the game and she never gets the credit she deserves. This song holds up and I think it would have been a bigger hit today. Xtina is coming back soon ya'll!

I always loved lil kim since lady marmalade... and i needed her to make music but she ghosted... then i heard this and i thought my heart is fullfilled... she will be the next IT fah me. and she didnt dissapointed me. nicki ate lil kim and became the queen of rap. plus nicki is one of the strongest women i have seen. everything about her is superior... her style her deliver her everything.
I will never understand why this song doesn't have a video. It's one of Christina's BEST songs ever. They should just re-release this with a video even if 5 years have gone by because it truly is a timeless gem.
Christina exactly said she believed this album was before its time and I think she hit the nail on the head. If it was released now (as this still of music is trending), it'd been a fucking hit album!!!!
The album actually wasn't even a "not that bad" album, it wasn't bad at all. The album was actually VERY GOOD, for anybody with an open mind, who loves a variety of types of music and sounds, and would let Christina be anything more than a ballad singer. I actually really LOVE this album, one of my faves. Some of her fans, and the general public didn't give it a chance. Most people did the bandwagon effect and since she had so much media scrutiny back then, they just went with the general consensus to believe the album was horrible, when in reality, it was a great album.
I love you man. You said some honest stuff right there. There is a reason why Billboard called this the best Pop album that year. This album had a variety of elements and she did it justice. She collaborated with the ppl who specialized in each of those genres and arranged an exceptionally Pop album. One of my faves.
Thanks. and Right. She was ahead of her time. Always trend-setting, hence soon as she worked with Sia, everybody, they mama, and twice removed cousin's wants to work with Sia now. Earnest V. Brown Jr.
Crazy how people blew WAP outta proportion yet we have gems like this here on the same line of female sexual liberation. Crazy how it's been a decade since this album was released...
It was a bold perspective, she went all out. She worked out, she was prepared, she sourced for collaborators all over the industry, finding SIA when she wasn't mainstream(at all). She has a clear vision and she work hard to finalise her vision. Bionic was an ambitious album, I didn't get it at first but slowly it has become a truly great album. Monday Morning is one of my fave song from her every, it's my monday morning jam :)
AGAIN!! this album was NOT a flop! It was literally in the "Illegal download era" and was second most illegal downloaded album of 2010! If it wasnt for that and that mess of Perez who was at his peak in his "Career" seeking attention annnnd matters worse Xtina not following through with tour etc. would have been EPIC!! Its def a classic! So Glad we got Justice for it, for its 10th anniversary
Yes people forget but Perez Hilton was the biggest blogger in 2010 and his site was getting millions of hits a day. Its hard to believe now because hes such a flop these days but at the time he was able to sway the media into hating Christina and starting the bullshit shes copying gaga lie he created to destroy christina. He even sat down with Julie Pilat who worked at KIIS, los angeles which is the second biggest top 40 station in the states. They talked about how they were NOT going to play not myself tonight. Perez Hilton was a piece of shit and still is.
Bionic was the 2nd most illegally downloaded album of 2010. I believe it's a masterpiece and it dont deserve what it hd achieved!! she's the most underappreciated artist today despite her incredible talent.i dont understand why people nowadays dont even recognize her as one of the GREATEST SINGER THE WORLD HAS EVER HAD.
I remember Xtina talking in an interview about how up and coming Nicki was and how she loved her. It’s weird to remember now that Nicki is so mainstream.
Music&ChemEngg Yes! She should make the music video and since Nicki is everywhere these days she will have a great comeback but she's way too lazy for that.
It's sad to see albums such as: BIONIC - Christina Aguillera ARTPOP - Lady Gaga BLACKOUT - Britney Spears were so early for the people to hear. They were sk ahead of their time.
@@aryssnt I disagree to that, sorry. KP Witness was a mess as a whole. Trashy lyrics and the fans lose interest to her cause of the changes she done to her life and career.
Diyann Dolphienoo Park I remember when she wasnt famous, I knew her with the Mariah's collab and Massive Attack song, I was like "she would be famous" then she realased Your love and the rest is history :')
It's been almost seven years since Bionic release and this song still sounds so fresh, sassy and strong. I really love it and I think that's what Christina meant when she said it was ahead of its time. Even the lyrics support that statement: a song that empowers females to be whoever they wanna be sexually wise. That's dope. Also, Nicki verses are FIRE. This is one of the best female featurings in pop music (post 2000), imo.
One of her best songs ever. One of my favorites this album is SICK. I still rock the entire album, SO UNDERRATED ALBUM one of the best of her career- really daring!! And it all WORKS!
For anyone wondering, the reason why (I think) this album is called 'Bionic' is because of a few things: 1) Her songs and style feels futuristic, some songs even have a robotic kinda feeling. 2) The album is pretty much about Christina being a grown woman and exploring her sexual persona, her vulnerability, her motherhood, etc, but the main message is that she is like a super woman who manages to have all these sides of her and still rock them all.
Listening to this song and I love it even more now. Christina is always ahead of the curve. This song could've easily been a hit right now. Bionic was such a bold and experimental album. This was one of Nicki's first pop collaborations and Christina reached out to Sia who was still an alternative artist at the time. I always look forward to which talent she chooses to work with on each album and whether it's a hit on the charts or not, she knows how to spot out talent 🎯
This is one of my favorite songs from Christina and this is also one of Nicki’s best versus. I remember hearing this and being like “Nicki killed that verse”
um don't call me honey two Nicki Minaj was created by lil wayne he made her fame Sia Made her own fame from her song breath me SOOOO XTINA DIDN'T DO SHIT TO MAKE THERE FAME
Ok keep it cute yall This is when Nicki was on EVERYBODYS songs! and Sia was just getting recongnition. So lets just say Xtina worked with these artist before they became more famous ;)
I just love how this song comes on. It's so cool and catchy. I loved this album from beginning to end and I'm glad that I went and bought this album. Christina is one of my favorite artist and I support her in everything that she does, unless I think it's something morally wrong. Great album ;)
I love this album too. I can't believe it did so horribly, and that What Does The Fox Say and Frozen did so well, concidering that they're absolute trash (sorry if you happen to like them).
I remember when "Bionic" came out. I got it on the date that the album came out. At first listen I did not understand the direction that she took with the album, but when I listened to the album 4-5 times I began to realise how much she had put her heart into it and how much she had worked on it to make it a consistent album. Now I think that "Bionic" was released WAY before its time. If "Bionic" was released a couple of years later when EDM music and dance music ruled the charts, then "Bionic" would have been a bigger succes both in terms of the critical reception but also how the public would relate to the album. :)
Such a wasted opportunity. This could be a huge hit during that era. Xtina + Nicki live performance would be explosive during that time. It still sounds fresh as heck even until today!
Bionic and Blackout are the 2 most futuristic albums ever made. I think their sound would still be fresh after like 100 years or so. That's why today's people never really payed attention to these 2 marvelous albums. Generic people don't appreciate straight-forward art, they just like some generic and really uninspirational sound. Not naming anyone, but there's a reason why Christina and Britney are the next Madonna and Whitney/Mariah kind of divas.
Actually Bionic was described as a wannabe Lady Gaga style and the music critics reviews was mixed with calling it reductive and trying too hard to copy Gaga.
The Fame by Lady Gaga (2008): Mixes '80 music with the music of the end of the decade, and of course is more focused on the fame than the rest of the albums below. Confessions on a Dance Floor by Madonna (2005): It's techno and mixes such deep lyrics with a danceable disco music, with a lot of samples that makes it a wholesome and unique album. Blackout by Britney (2007): This album mixed RnB and electronic music like no one did before, also It's called "the bible of pop" for its influence. Bionic by Christina Aguilera (2010): Well, aren't we listening to how great and innovative this album is? Music from 2000 to 2010 was such a peak of pop music.
We had a school talent show and I was doing the music for one of the acts contemporary dance piece and I set up the right ipod to play the right song but I wasn't paying attention and played my ipod instead, which played the song I'd last listened to and paused and so the chorus to this song blasted out of my ipod infront of about 200 students aged 12 to 16. I was mortified.
Know the pain. I was singing "Florida Kilos" by Lana Del Rey and didn't realize a bunch of 3rd graders were listening. I was just warming up my voice and that was the first song that came to mind...it was embarrassing, but thankfully none of them knew what it was about and just complimented me on my singing.
Sigo diciendo que este disco merecía más, canciones cómo está es oro puro! Los fighters tenemos que seguir reproduciendo para hacer valer la música de nuestra reina Xtina
There's actually a couple of reasons why it didn't do as well as everyone thought it would. Then again, no one knows for sure if these *really* did have a huge impact on the album. By the way, I didn't know about Christina Aguilera until 2011/2012-ish, so I can't really confirm anything 100%. Reasons: 1) Paris Hilton's trash talk (he had a lot of power at the time). 2) Lady Gaga's rise to fame (there were a lot of comparisons between these two artists). -- Reason #2 heavily connected to Reason #1 as he helped promote her -- 3) Illegal downloading of the album which hurts sales. 4) And I believe there were some promotional issues as well as a pushed back release date, not sure though.
Xtina has a very versatil voice!!! She can sing everything. This song in particular is catchy, keeping her style and Nicki's verse is so good!! I love it😙
I imagine the success of this song if it was released this year being kinda like *side to side* or even a major success, the songs from *Bionic* are never getting old for me!
Christina voice is so amazing. I don't know how many times I've heard her sing cause each time I hear her sing I always say her voice is amazing. That high note and that run she did after Nicki was amazing no other singer couldn't!
This beat is so contagious and infectious! Quarantina is freaking talented. Plus, being the first mainstream artist to work with Nicki Minaj! #10YearsOfBionic
This song is so sexy!!!! I STILL jam to it, in 2014!! Better than most of the songs these days...... Not gonna name names..... *cough cough* Nicki Minaj, present day, 2014, and Katy Perry.
Wow this song was ahead of it's time they weren't ready for this in 2010 damn I want her to come up with more. Christina was the only popstar I wanted to sing like when I was younger.
SU MEJOR ALBUM. AÑO 2010, ESTUVO MUY ADELANTADA EN CUANTO A MUSICA FUTURISTA PARA ESE AÑO, POR ESO LA GENTE NO LO ENTIENDO. IGUAL TODO LO QUE HACE CHRISTINA AGUILERA ES EXITO!!!!
The fame is more of dance-pop. Bionic is a purist futuristic electro pop. It sounded like an underground stuff. Bionic, Not myself tonight, woohoo, primadonna and glam were the best stuff. Oddly that sex breakfast is great too but the lyrics is just so hilarious.
