I just can’t believe this song wasn’t nominated for awards I mean COME ON! This performance is absolutely stunning and flawless, I am in complete shock
Bionic was such an amazing album and it still saddens me to this day how horrible it did. BTW that mic and mic stand is red lips and an old car steering wheel that was custom made for her lol.
Bionic is a very uneven album, and I'm saying this as long time Christina fan. Some songs are amazing (You Lost Me, Lift Me Up, Bionic, I Am, Sex for Breakfast), a lot of the songs are so-so (Desnudate, Prima Dona, Elastic Love, WooHoo), and some are utter garbage (Vanity, I Hate Boys, My Girls). The saddest part is that all four bonus tracks (STE, LD, BoP, Monday Morning) are really, really good and have they been part of the standard setlist, the album could've been a great one. As it is, it's average at best (though it contains some of her best songs like this one and the amazing Lift Me Up). I'm also very curious about the sheer amount of songs that didn't make the cut (while garbage like I Hate Boys did), I hope some of them leak in the future.
I totally agree with you. Although I do love Vanity. that is a total Christina song lol I Hate Boys was basically naming fruits and saying I hate boys. Little Dreamer was the jewel of the entire album but sadly it was just on iTunes. Bionic is definitely a mystery/urban legend album. I still listen to it all the time and I'm so glad she made it.
@@Ausieboy2000 yes, I will never forgive or forget the actions of those two demons and how they hurt Aguilera, I feel her career never recovered from that fiasco
If The Sales Of This Album Makes You Sad Then You Truly Did Not Enjoy The Album. But I Too Hated That Album. Sounded So Dated & Dry. Not Sure Who Produced It But It Was Trash
+ I'm not even going to comment on BIONIC because my ears have never failed me & I know what I know to be true. And that is that BIONIC is a damn great album. Yes! It is very EXPERIMENTAL, it was meant to be. Aside from that It holds some of Christina's best sounding ballads. Like this one, YOU LOST ME. Which she wrote with SIA. Of courseeee! That is why it is soo heavy with emotion. Sidenote, I read somewhere, longgg after Christina's divorce to Jordan Bratman. That she was accused of infidelity in her marriage with none other than her now husband Matthew Ruttler back when they were filming BURLESQUE in 2009. Which coincides with the timeline of both projects, her divorce, and the release of the album & movie in 2010. And this is the reason for THIS SAD BALLAD. Which would explain why Christina herself said it's one of the hardest songs for her to sing.
I have always considered this song the antithesis of Etta James' "At Last." I feel like they're in the same genre especially when she performs it live and they add in the electric guitar. The studio production, imo, doesn't do the song justice. It's a bit gritty and soul live than the studio which comes off much more pop kind of like "Hurt." I think this song was ahead of its time especially when years later these kind of songs became acceptable on radio with Say Something and with what Adele does. I think if Adele had released "Million Years Ago" it would've survived pop or AC radio unlike this song back in 2010 lol
yup .. me too .. it was a really2 great performance, and one of her perfect voice we could hear ... but it's hard to watch cause i feel all the pain and it hurts. a lot.
Thanks for making this!!! Please react Christina Aguilera Something's gotta hold on me live Ellen It's a Etta James cover and it's on her film Burlesque.. Regards from Chile!!
Please react to Christina Aguilera's "I'm ok' live at The Storytellers and Impossible live at the stripped, please! Always a pleasure to see and hear your reactions, always. Thanks.
I would like to see you react to a young christina sing, for example, "I have nothing" or "another sad love song" on MMC when she was 12 years old, let's see the soul she had when she was that young.
Her Not Getting An Award Shouldnt Make You Sick If You Truly Enjoyed The Album. Her Album Was Not Snubbed … The Album Was Dated, It Was Not Well Received By The Public, It Had Not Hits or Major Success To Justify A Nomination. The Album Was Extremely Weak & The Record Sales Reflected That. Can’t Believe Y’all Still Look At The Grammys As Some Sort Of Musical Achievement
One of the only 3 songs worth it in the Bionica album. Not over produced, vocals on point, her voice is so interpretative in here is disgustingly awesome! She looks beautiful in this performance too. I don't know why she dodged the arpeggio in the climax. Her voice did not sound like it was gonna crack and it seemed she had enough breath. She could've totally make it.
Didn't she mess up the transition? That whole performance was bonkers in the best way possible though :) I always think it's best to watch the performance after first listening to the original to fully appreciate her crazy ability to rearrange songs to show off all her vocal strengths. She was doing it at 13 with Aretha's "Think" so she was basically an old pro by that performance :)
When She Takes Her Time To “Control” Her Vocals She Nails It. Her Attempting To Belt & Switch Up The Song Doesn’t Mean “Soulful” The Word That Defines That Is Bad Singing Technique
It Sounds Forced Because She’s Actually Forcing It When She Doesn’t Need To … I’m Assuming She Just Doesnt Have The Musical Ear To Switch Her Range/Key When Her Voice Begins To Weaken or She Becomes Uncomfortable.
JKYB7088, perhaps I should go in for some serious Botox injections. It might not be much help with my supposed deafness, but who knows, if I’m lucky it might make my lips look like a monkey’s behind, too. LOL
