Dan! Thank you so much for sharing my story. I am really grateful for you and this community. My biggest hope is that my story can help people. All of you are going to get well, no matter how many surgeries you’ve had, injuries, viruses, etc. None of that matters. None of the labels matter. They’re not true. You just have to believe you can get well, stop the “freak out” loop (and for me, that took time) as Dan says, and go live your life! Thank you, thank you everyone; I am so grateful 🙏🏼.

Thanks for sharing your story! I had/have many of the same symptoms and diagnosis with my throat. I had an ENT tell me I had such bad reflux that I had "blister upon blister" in my throat. Oh wow! No wonder it is sore and I choke in the middle of the night. Two years later another ENT told me my throat was totally fine. How?? It was still sore! I had every gastro intestinal test with nothing showing up. One surgeon told me it might help to wrap part of my stomach around my esophagus! Oh I am so glad my gut told me not to do these drastic things or take all the PPIs I was offered. I am so thankful I found out about brain retraining. My throat is hardly ever sore any more without having changed anything else. This all came after year and years of stress and now I know my body has been in fight or flight for a long time. Your story is very encouraging.

I am so incredibly happy to hear that Christine is doing so much better. I remember when we spoke that she was in a deep dark place with so many symptoms and now she is happy, symptom free and has gotten her life back. I’m so happy for her. And to you Dan you are the absolute best. My advice to all is to follow Dan’s approach! Commit to it full heartedly and you will start to see real changes. I have ONLY followed Dan and my life is back to normal and if I VERY seldom have had symptoms I immediately implement Dan’s simple teachings and I commit fully and my symptoms always go away very quickly. Hi Mike! I am so happy to hear that you see the connection between stress and the symptoms. I think what I'd love others to know from my journey through suffering (haha) is that the MINUTE they let go of all the medical labels, all of the thoughts fueled by anxiety and fear, and recognize "the loop" that the mind may create, they will begin to heal and with time, the symptoms will go on their merry way. : ) You've got this!

@christinenbarba
@christinenbarba Год назад
Thank you so much for this kind comment 😊🙏🏼! Just remember that there is NOTHING wrong with you! Every single symptom is JUST PDP/TMS. I don’t write “just” to minimize the experience, but because once we recognize that we are actually OK and our brain may have just gotten stuck in a little “loop,” this stuff will start to shift. There’s nothing really wrong, you don’t have a reflux problem (or any other label doctors may like to use). It’s all just normal bodily sensations that become amplified a bit by the brain. They will go away! Can’t wait to listen to your success story when they do!

I’m so glad you got better Christine. You are an inspiration and hope for us all with nerve pain. And thankyou so much Dan for your constant support through your videos. For nearly two years now I have had constant burning pain in my top left jawbone. This occurred following a root canal that got overfilled. Then the tooth was extracted but the overfilling material remained. I had a maxillofacial surgery to get the overfilling material removed, and I still have this constant burning pain. I have searched high and low amongst the medical and alternative treatments. I am a mum of three children, and this is very debilitating. I watch Dan’s videos but I am ‘sitting on the fence’ as he says because I have some doubts because of the invasive procedures I have had, my mind thinks the nerve/s are damaged beyond repair. Please tell me this is TMS. I really need my life back and your story, Christine is the closest I can relate to. Thankyou so much if you reply. One doctor told me it is a myth that nerves heal and I would have to learn to live with this. Another said give it 12-18 months and if still burning after that then it’s likely permanent. Thankyou again for any response🙏

Hi Sara! Thank you so much for your comment. First off, it is NOT a myth that nerves heal! Of course they heal. I cannot believe that doctor said that to you and I'm sorry you had to experience that. The body heals everything and WANTS to heal everything, and the mind is also quite happy to stop ALL pain once we slowly start shifting our thoughts (I say "slowly" because I know it can feel really hard at first). : ) Luckily, thanks to people like Dan Buglio and Dr. Joe Dispenza, I was finally able to recognize that anyone can become well. The biggest step I had to recognize is that this stuff feeds on doubt. And so, the minute our thoughts wander back to "Oh man, but this doctor told me..." or "Yeah, but this stuff I read told me..." etc., etc., we change the thought to "Even if something is physical right now, the body and mind can work together to heal absolutely anything, and / or, stop absolutely any pain!" Because it's true. I've seen too many incredible stories at Dr. Joe events of people healing stuff you wouldn't even believe, just because they believed it so strongly and were able to change their thoughts about it. That area is not going to be in pain forever. Once they started changing their thoughts, they were able to start engaging in life again in fun ways because they finally had hope that this would not be forever (yours won't either!). I have absolutely zero doubts in my mind. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions! : )

Thank you Christine, so happy for your recovery from such a dark place! I can relate to your story that what started out as neck pain then moved to my throat too, it's my final symptom i am stuck with, throat discomfort and what i perceive as irregular breathing with my nose my mouth, and worried if my body has forgotten how to breath by itself..so concious of it. Then behind my nose starts feeling strained etc with the breathing, sounds crazy right.. only in the evenings will it all calm down and i can breath normally which tells me it's definitely all TMS..but feel as though i have plateaued in my recovery.

Thank you so much for this kind comment 😊🙏🏼! It doesn’t sound crazy to me at all (though I understand that when I didn’t fully understand what was going on, I kept saying “I know it sounds crazy,” so I get it, haha). It sounds just like TMS, PDP, sensory motor OCD, or whatever you’d like to call it! Just remember that your body hasn’t forgotten how to breathe. Also, it’s Ok to be focused on breathing or not focused. It doesn’t matter! There’s no right or wrong way to breathe. You can breathe through your nose, your mouth, both, breathe ten times in a row quickly or slowly, hold your breath, do anything! None of it matters. You can even experiment with doing it different ways just for fun to show yourself that it really doesn’t matter! Once you recognize your brain is just hyper focused on how to do it due to a TMS loop, but that there’s nothing wrong at all, I promise you will get to 100%. I had everything you are describing! I’m fine now and you will be too! It just takes a little time and exposure to recognize what’s going on but I promise you will be OK 🙏🏼.

I’m working now the TMS approach but it is still challenging to lose fear of the symptoms when they are so severe…I’m wondering how did you turn the corner of losing fear. What specific techniques helped you most? Thanks so much of course to Dan for sharing this story and for your brilliant work that helps so many people!!

Hi Maya! I’m so happy this talk could offer a little relief 💕. I promise that you are going to get to 100%. The biggest steps that helped me were disregarding anything doctors ever told me (other than two lovely TMS doctors, Dr. Schubiner and Gwotz, haha). Recognize there’s absolutely nothing wrong with your body (I know that to be true, even if you may not believe it yet!). Sometimes our brains just get in a little loop and that’s OK. Also, resuming all of the activities I’d stopped because of this experience was extremely helpful. Speaking as much as I want, eating foods I enjoy if I want to, and starting to DO anything I was avoiding because of fear. And not in a “fixing” way, but just in a way that helped me live life. Daily reassurance helped a lot as well so whether you offer that to yourself or give yourself a little by watching Dan’s awesome daily videos (maybe a few per day), that will help! Then, go do something you love with your day and interact with people if you can! You don’t have to avoid it because I know you’re OK and your brain and body will catch on. I just know it! 🙏🏼

OMG! This is the first time I’ve heard Dr. Joe Dispenza mentioned in relation to TMS. I discovered Dr. Joe in January of of 2022 and began meditating that month. Two weeks after I started, I was going into my office to meditate one evening and when I sat down to begin my ears started ringing. I got tinnitus that has been constant ever since. Its gotta be TMS. And then back in May, I was sitting at my desk at work looking at something on the computer and all of a sudden I had needles and pins all over my body.

@christinenbarba
@christinenbarba 9 месяцев назад
Hi Darin, it’s Christine, thank you for your comment! As Dan wrote, it’s absolutely TMS. Actually, that is extraordinarily common when we meditate. In my opinion, what’s happening is, a LARGE majority of us (most of the population), may notice that sound in their ears if we’re sitting in silence long enough. Most people just aren’t conscious of that sound because we’re rarely sitting in silence. It’s just the brain trying to make up for the sound of silence since we’re used to hearing sounds. Nothing is actually wrong. It’s normal. And if we are already freaked out about other symptoms, when we notice the sound, it freaks us out, we pay attention to it, and thus starts a little fear / TMS / OCD loop. The point is that there is nothing physically wrong with you and the ringing / other symptoms will go away! We just have to recognize that we became conscious of a very normal sensation everyone has, fear / the TMS loop caused us to focus on it, and that actually the more we just recognize nothing was ever wrong with us / pay attention to other things, I promise it will eventually go on its merry way / not be something to be frustrated by. You will get to 100% mentally and physically. I promise!

Thanks for sharing this story. Actually, a lot of times, high blood pressure is a result of perfectly normal test results. There’s a wonderful TMS doctor who recognized that if doctors just took the time to calm patients down before taking blood pressure, many “seemingly” high results would come back completely normal. Dr. Schubiner had a funny response to a friend concerned about throat pain when they brought up “reflux” (I put that in quotes because even that term frustrates me since it’s no big deal!). He said “these doctors are taking perfectly normal test results and turning people into nervous wrecks.” So true 😂. Dr. Schubiner is amazing 🙏🏼!

The problem with trying to capture success stories of TMS like symptoms is that the relief is almost instantaneous as soon as you understand and internalize the idea. Your brain may takes a few days to catch up though to make physical changes. Thus these tend to be mostly stories of pain with a sudden end to it with a revelation.

I think a big part of what I’d love people to know is that it’s usually not instantaneous. For me, it took a TON of reassurance and “work” (by work I mean just reinforcing over and over to myself what was going on!). I hope this explanation may be helpful or offer some comfort ☺️🙏🏼.

When I tried to tell her about my symptoms she wouldn’t listen, she kept using my time to berate her competitor and promote her book. She also told me and I quote: “Oh you are going to be a difficult one!” because I told her that for the money I was paying I was hoping that she would at least listen to what I was dealing with. It doesn't matter if we're having a ton of it or just a little. Doesn't matter! I had to realize that I had just thought about that area so much that normal sensations all start to become terrifying. @@andrejamilanko6689 I did a lot of things I "thought" would make me better but because the PDP had caused me to enter into such a state of fear, things got worse and worse, regardless of what dietary habits I stopped, haha. The point is that we can resume all of these activities if we'd like to, and will also be completely fine :). I think we become so fearful of food / beverages because a lot of the information that's out there and we become more and more sad that we may not be able to have these foods again, etc. I think the key is, if you're going to stop caffeine for a bit, say to yourself, "Ah, this feels like a pretty good choice right now, but it also feels great to know I can enjoy it again in the future if I want to." In my opinion, the MORE we're feeling good in the way we are thinking and engaging in life, the sooner things are going to start feeling better mentally and physically! Hi Cindy! My belief with ALL of those labels, diagnoses, etc. is that the medical world / Dr. Google just scares us more with those unnecessary labels. From a pure PDP perspective (AKA mind-body approach), the more we recognize that there is absolutely nothing wrong with our bodies, as the wonderful Dan teaches, and that we are OK, we will heal. We have to truly believe that. What really helped me (since I was grappling with horrific OCD that I believe kept a lot of this loop going for me, as well as still navigating some essentially “physical stuff” - but that can be healed within days in my opinion, once we eliminate stress) was comforting myself with thoughts like “regardless of whether something physical was going on in those areas, the body WANTS to heal. It WANTS to heal. It was only the obsessive thought loop, powerful emotions, and hyperfocus that led me to have symptoms in the first place. The more I RECOGNIZE that it all came from this obsessive loop, feel my emotions, and reengage in life / stop doing activities this loop caused me to avoid, I will feel better.” I believe it’s Dr. Schubiner who says “scars don’t hurt and the body heals.” I know for us throat people, etc. it can feel a bit tricky because sure, maybe there were a few areas that were a bit “raw” from years of stress and powerful thoughts and emotions being redirected to that area, but that’s ALL that “stuff” is: symptoms that manifest due to fear and fearful thoughts. Eventually, I had to remind myself that the more I resumed life, de-stressed, changed habits, ate and drank foods / beverages I loved, and recognized the extremely obsessive thought patterns that I believe contribute to a lot of “this stuff,” the quicker I’d feel better (no matter what was going on). But certainly, the thoughts about everything were increasing the sensations in that area. Once we heal our thoughts and beliefs, the PDP will die down in any area (including the gut or throat), just as Dan tries to show us. I know I shouldn’t use the word “heal” since PDP means nothing is wrong with the body, but the reminders about how human bodies want to heal very quickly if we let them (without our thoughts getting in the way) did comfort me quite a bit when OCD caused me to go back and forth for a long time with “is it mind-body or is it physical?” So shifting the mentality to “it doesn’t even matter. I’ll feel better when I resume life and stop obsessing over my body and enjoy things I love again helped me quite a bit. And Dan’s daily doses of safety were crucial for me. I hope that helps a bit. 😊🙏🏻

I got HUGE improvements with two of my pains 💛💚💙 but tinnitus and dysregulated nervous system still remains. Is tinnitus also tms? It happened the moment my nervous system got dysregulated so I guess it would make really sense that it is. But my strategy of giving my tinntius no focus at all while calming my anxiety doesn't work for it. Any advice? Maybe it goes away when my nervous system is back to baseline? 💛
@christinenbarba
@christinenbarba Месяц назад
Hi Matt, thank you for your comment and you should be so proud of yourself for doing that! I believe that tinnitus is also MBS : ). Sometimes, I think as humans, it's very normal after going through this stuff for the brain to want to focus on new "symptoms" or things that need to be fixed (even thoughts like "I have a dysregulated nervous system.") When we think about it, even THAT THOUGHT about our nervous system is coming from the brain, haha. I only share that because it's how I was able to simplify things for myself. Once we recognize that we will fully be okay the minute we see that there is nothing wrong with us other than that we think there is something wrong and things often stick around because subconsciously, some part of us is still focused on "fixing," that can help a lot. Resuming life and building new habits that bring us peace or joy can really help too. It takes time when we've been going through this stuff for so long, but like Dan teaches, the more we engage in life and stop worrying about whether something will "go away," the less it will remain part of our reality. It took me a lot of time and hard work to build new habits, etc. but I am so confident you will feel peace and relief as well

Doctors can just help you if you have real symptoms or damage on or in your body, broken bone, or some other damage. When they dont see anything or feel clueless then they look at medisin options. We underrated the power of our brain, brain have his own pharmacy up there and solution but we been just trained that way that doctors know everything which is not true. Can we say its about 50% of all people who go to doctor who have real symptom or damage? For people who is suffering from mental illness i understand its scary, i been there and i am there now, been describe antidepressants, but no thanks. I am going to do it without medication, listen to storys like that give you hope. Believe your brain, work together with your body and brain. Thank you Dan for all your information

Thank you for this nice feedback and for sharing your thoughts 😊! Absolutely. Dr. Joe Dispenza talks a lot about how our brains have the power to create our own pharmacy, which is why we don’t really need medications to do that. I believe all chronic symptoms are TMS/PDP. And even symptoms that haven’t been around too long can be overcome with Dan’s wonderful approach. Thank you again! 🙏🏼

Thank you for sharing. I am aware that I have TMS. I’ve been having debilitating symptoms for almost 8 years now. But the throat thing has been consistently going on for two months now sending me into a horrifying state of fear. I tried to relax (then I get panic attacks because I focus on breathing), yesterday I tried to go out with a few friends and it was great but the anxiety was so severe I got the worst symptoms till date. I don’t know how to dial down the fear or the anxiety. I am afraid of what my brain is capable of and not having control over it. And then there are also tons of other symptoms like IBS, fatigue, chronic pain in my back, shoulders and all over my body basically. Can anyone help me?
@christinenbarba
@christinenbarba 3 месяца назад
Hi there! I just want to let you know that I am 100% confident every single one of those symptoms is going to go away, along with the emotions that come with them. It takes a lot of time and consistency, but truly recognizing that ALL of this stuff (every single symptom and emotion) is coming from what I label a "repetitive loop" in the brain (AKA PDP) that we can slowly start to change helped me immensely. It will feel weird at first while we continue going out with friends and engaging in life, but I promise, the MORE you engage in life, with friends, and keep busy, and the less you indulge that little loop's tendency to want to have us obsess over the symptoms all day long, the better you will feel. Being with friends will slowly start to feel more normal. If we do it consistently! And don't get discouraged / lie in bed for days afterward. Keep hanging out with people! Call this loop out for what it is, sarcastically respond to the fear thoughts ("Oh yeah, you're right brain, I'm doomed and going to feel this way forever!) and continue engaging in life. I also had to stop habits like reading stuff online, researching it, reading stuff in FB groups, etc. Watch some Dan videos each day (his videos are right on point!) and then keep engaging in life (even with the symptoms), knowing that nothing is wrong and that the little "anxiety loop" will catch on the more you focus on new things: reading books you love, hanging out with friends, listening to music you like, planning future days out. Don't do that stuff to "fix" but just because it's stuff you'd love to do! I promise things will shift with consistency, time, and being kind to yourself during the process. And know that it's not abnormal if it feels wonky / a little challenging to do that at first. That's just the old programming. I promise it will feel easier and easier with time and consistency! You will overcome this stuff. : )

Thank you so much for your reaction. I have three other questions: how do I deal with the fear that my symptoms can eventually lead to worse problems (I have GERD and constant reflux and my mouth, tongue, throat, esophagus and stomach burn all the time)? How do I distract myself when the symptoms are really bad (the pain, the burning) and how do I dial down the fear?
@christinenbarba
@christinenbarba 3 месяца назад
@@Imhoteppa For me personally, I had to recognize that all of those fears were coming from previous stuff I'd read online, previous horrifying things I'd been told by doctors, and of course, being human, our own preconditioned beliefs from just living in this world, haha. I had to hit the Ctrl+Alt+Delete button on ALL of those things and to recognize that ANY beliefs coming from fear or anxiety were not accurate, try to forget about any medical label I'd ever been given or heard about, and recognize that our bodies and minds always WANT to function optimally. It's our beliefs and fear thoughts (to no fault of our own - it's very human) that hold us back. I also had to really reengage much more in life again and keep busier. I had thought I was keeping busy by going on all of these adventures, but then when that underlying "OCD" loop was still there, it made it incredibly difficult to enjoy them. So basically, the knowledge that all of those fears are part of this little loop we can slowly change with time and consistency, and also, recognizing that the more I started to engage in life again in fulfilling ways / by keeping busier, my focus became less about my body and symptoms and more about living life and doing the things I enjoyed : ). Truly, the less I worried about labels such as "reflux" or all those other labels, the less it continued to be part of my physical reality. It took a lot of time, consistency, and hard work to overcome all of those beliefs, but the more I consistently kept busy and reingaged in life by making plans, reading books, exercising, listening to music I like, the less (slowly) that I was so hyperfocused on that little area. I am 100% confident you will overcome all of the stuff you just listed. There is no doubt in my mind. : )

@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou 5 месяцев назад
Yes, fear, anxiety, the brain perceiving danger can all cause it. Since it's your heart, you may wish to have your doctor check to make sure there is no cardiac problems. But once you have the all clear, you can rule in TMS. Here's how: IsThisTMS.com

Medicine is such a beautiful job and we all know that there are very competent and decent doctors all over the world that, besides competent, treat their patients kindly - knowing that this is part of the treatment -. but in our society we got used to consider medical doctors in general as demigods which is a HUUUGE mistake !!!

Hi! Yes, thank you for making this point. I mentioned I now don’t believe it was the gabapentin that caused stuff to spread, but of course, I’ll never know for sure if it was the medication or the fact I was taking those meds when I was already in a fearful state. I will say that it really only intensified to all of those areas during the three days on it, so I guess it’s a bit of a chicken or egg debacle! The good news is that TMS is the way out and ALL of this stuff can be completely overcome ☺️🙏🏼.
