Queen is cool. I saw them in 82 Hot Space tour, Under Pressure was the hit from Hot Space. I was in a music coma for like month after that. As I was after the first time I saw Rent. Very energetic stuff
Been listening to this song almost every Christmas Gonna check off the years every time I listen 2019 ✓ 2020 ✓ 2021 ✓ 2022 ✓ 2023 ✓ 2024 HONEST LIVING HONEST LIVING!
It's 12 am on Christmas where I am, played this as soon as it turned so that the first words that I heard on Xmas day would be "Christmas bells are ringing". 😁🎄🔔
I watched In The Heights last night….so much Jonathan Larson influence in Lin Manuel Miranda’s work. It warms my heart to know that Larson lives on Broadway yet
2:29: “She said would you light my candle…” (Roger and Mark gossiping about Mimi!!!!) 3:00: Maureen?” “MIMIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!” “WHOOOOOA-“ (HIS REACTION KILLS ME EVERY TIME LMAO HELP-)
How does this only have 1 comment!! It's literally the most genius song ever. It's complex and difficult and the timing is so much fun to learn. You literally can listen to it a hundred times and hear something new everytime!!
Yes! Totally agreed, this is so underappreciated.... My favorite of the more operetta-heavy songs in the show. I remember being crushed and appalled that so many were cut from the movie but this one by far hit the hardest :'(
@@jeff0rawr Especially since Chris Columbus, the director of the 2005 Rent Film, is so creative and I’m sure that him and the team would have come up with something brilliant for this song to bring it to the screen. The one problem with this song is, you can either make a masterpiece or fail, with middle ground obviously, but not much. Like I said, I’m sure that Chris and the team would have done something interesting.

I feel like this one is one of the most beautiful pieces on the whole set. Truly. And not to mention it ends with "JO ANN....WHICH WAY TO THE STAGE?!?!" Reminding us we havent even met Maureen yet. 😮😅 I think the CHRISTMAS BELLS interludes in general get overlooked and easily dismissed. ❤ i love em
it seems like the Rent OBC recording was removed from spotify when the new TV film one was added :/ the “best of” OBC is still there but not the full show. probably to do with the team behind the new version trying to get more clicks on their version...i noticed that when TV hairspray came out, the film soundtrack was suddenly removed from spotify too 🙃 that one’s back on there now though.
I was thinking the other day that Jonathan did the “bits of multiple songs / parts of a song sung at once” thing that Lin is known for doing and Jonathan did it first.
