It's Christmas Day 2020, and I wanted to test out the super-light portable kit using the Wonderwand Widebander III and my Yaesu FT-817ND.
Let's see if we can make some Christmas Day contacts on 20 metres.

Just got my 818nd so you have given me the inspiration for QRP , never again will I believe the expression "life is too short for QRP "

For goodness sake, something so simple yet I totally missed it. I too have the Wonderwand but never thought to do this with the tuner. I have now cut myself a 10m length of wire and will use the tuneable counterpoise that came with my wonderwand, thank you for the inspiration....

Good job Mike. I am using ic-705 and sadly don't have a balcony so have to use compromised indoor antenna's but when conditions are good it works ok. Getting a magnetic loop in the new year to improve things. 73's and Merry Xmas
