Beautiful tree Josie, and a perfect size for that corner! 🎄 Maybe try bending the top branch into half to make it shorter and thicker, so then the star topper can sit better and up straight on it? 🌟 And then you could use a bit of thin wire to wrap around the bottom of the star and attach to the top branch, that should keep it in place nicely 😘 xx

Darling Josie, I find with an artificial tree if you bend the top "spire" branch over on itself, it makes it wider and more sturdy and forms an upside down "v" that compliments the shape of the cone of the star. This usually stops the star pulling the branch/ top over to one side. I can't see the top of your tree properly, but that is what I would do to stabilise the star. Your tree look fabulous. xxx

I had to stop watching and grab a hanky when you gave us that beautiful smile of excitement after you lit the tree. I have always found Christmas an emotional time of year but finding you and being part of your energy and enthusiasm is beyond wonderful and so healing, especially this year. I have no idea how I came across your vlogs but I'm beyond grateful to have done so throughout these Covid months. The coming winter will feel longer than usual but you, Josie, and your fiancé and little dogs will make it so much more enjoyable. God bless you for being you. 🇨🇦

Watching the tree take shape in that glorious room makes me immediately think of "Christmas Future" with your kiddos padding downstairs from their bedrooms to find this magical room has had a visit from a fat, jolly old elf. What Christmas memories you will make in this room this year, and in the years to come. Enjoy every beautiful moment.

Josie I don't think rubbing alcohol will make any difference, it is used before adding the command strip to remove grease from a surface, stone is especially lime or sandstone is porous so this will have no effect. The grainy/fine texture also won't help, perhaps try the underside of the paneling? Or we use hooks that can be hand-screwed into a beam to hang our decorations, this may work for the paneling? x

In the US, we often add bead garland to our trees to add some horizontal visual interest or ribbons loosely twisted and tucked in the branches. Your tree looks lovely! As for videos I’d like to see 1) country winter outfits 2) decorating your garden for Christmas 3) making Christmas dinner 4) Christmas cookie baking 5) gift guide for males 6) Christmas outfits 7) gift guide for ladies 8) what’s on your Christmas list. As always, thank you for the wonderful videos!!

Strings of beads are a nice and classy alternative to tinsel. You could even do a pearl look string of beads. Some bows would be nice. Maybe a red tartan. Floral picks would also add some texture and depth. Tree is beautiful. :)

A tip for next year (or next tree - if you get more) - fluff the branches one layer at a time (before putting on the next layer) - much easier to get the middle of the tree fluffed up nicely too. You are really making me want to drag out my Christmas decor!

Command hooks are the best! I use them all the time and never prep with rubbing alcohol. I don’t think that step is necessary. I’d say you’ll have better luck sticking them to the wood (they won’t damage it when you pull them off) because the stone might not be the right texture. There’s also heavy duty versions of command hooks and even outdoor ones! Try the outdoor ones-they’re meant to stick to stone and outdoor surfaces
@debbievidal9536

I agree, stick them To the wood. Also the stone is dangerously close to the fire. The garland will get too hot and maybe melt

Those buns lookes amazing! As an avid baker myself, I can give you a tip for keeping them round while cutting: use some floss or a cooking string to cut them. Just put a long string of dental floss under the bottom of the dough, keep the ends of the string in each hand, wrap it around the top and pull tightly in opposite directions to pull the floss through the roll. If you need a visual, there are tutorials. Loving the trees, it's getting me in a festive mood!

Your Christmas tree looks absolutely beautiful, just perfect. It doesn’t necessarily need it but if you wanted to add some texture as you suggested then we sometimes use very wide ribbon (you could use gold) and twist it around the tree where tinsel would usually be. It adds a really lovely dimension. Really looking forward to your beautiful home getting festive xx

Lovely job with Christmas tree! If you'd like to add some diversity in texture I would suggest that you consider vintage, even antique looking ornaments, executed in fabric, wood, lace, porcelain or crystal. Ginger brad ornaments would fit in lovely as well. The idea is to achieve that generational inheritance vibe when it comes to ornaments which are collected, cherished and passed on through generations, like family tradition. Those textures will add dimension and variety to your tree, and overall more of an old country home, cozy yet classy and natural festive vibe. Personally, I have nothing against bows, but overly stuffed look isn't my cup of tea. It's jut not European vibe to me, although it may look lovely in the right place. XOXO

I do have an idea on how to complete your tree with other than tinsel, which is always so messy. I had this same dilemma and so I went out and bought a couple of white feather boas. What you do is you cut them into 4-5 inch pieces and lay them on the tips of the branches so they look like snow. The boa is made of soft, delicate feathers and they hold on perfectly. When Christmas is over, you can easily take them off and store them for next year. Just an idea you might like to consider... 🇨🇦

I love your new home and your beautiful Christmas decorations. We have a similar tree topper and what we did to make it work on our tree was to wire it onto a shortened wooden dowel. We slip it into the center top of the tree and the stick goes down into the center of the tree. We put the very top part of the tree inside of the spiral just as you normally would. You can’t see the dowel, but it is very sturdy. We just leave the dowel on the topper and store it that way from year to year. I hope this works for you.
