It's just so bonkers!!! I love these vids, Japan does food waaaaayyyyyy better than the uk all round, but especially like the quick buy\eat stuff. I'm fully amazed by this every video 😂
Thank you for your patience as I took some time off to enjoy my holiday, too! What does Christmas dinner, or any big holiday you celebrate, look like for you?!
Here are some swedish Christmas dinner foods. (I don't know all of the translations for them so you have to look it up) Prinskorv Meatballs Christmas Ham Gravad lax Hot smoked salmon pickled herring (?) Jansson's temptation beetroot salad Vörtbröd Julknäcke Some classical desserts are Pepparkakor (Gingerbread) Lussekatter (Saffron buns) Ris a la Malta (Rice pudding) Knäck
@@jontel7 omg these sound soooo good! back home we would cook a big ham or a nice steak with a lot of sides, too!! thank you for giving me all the food envy!
For me (in Australia) it's seafood - prawns, Morten Bay bugs and my favourite scallops. Sometimes we have fish baked in the oven. Served with vegetables as the main. We also have cold smoked ham, vegetables, home made sausage rolls and fruit - mangoes, lychees, stone fruit and grapes. These are usually lunch :) Prawns and seafood are a big deal during Christmas in Australia, but a lot of people also get the ham legs. I also know some people who do Turkey/chicken. It really depends on your family traditions :)
We do a traditional thanksgiving dinner twice, one for thanksgiving and one for Christmas 🎄 when we go to my boyfriends parents house for Christmas they do gumbo and rice!
I followed you from TikTok, I love watching you grow into your channel! One of my favorite things about you is that the more you post the more we see your true goofball nature and it just makes me love you more.
I watch this all year ‘round bc it comforts me 🩷🩷🩷🎂🎂🎂🩷🩷🩷 No matter what Christmas is here or coming. I don’t see it as ever over. It’s my fave and it was my Mom’s too. This is Fun & Comforting for me ❤❤❤✨✨✨🎄✨🎄✨🎄✨✨✨❤️❤️❤️
When you said “it reminds me of home” and your eyes went 🥺 oh, my hearttt! I really relate to that feeling! I hope you had wonderful and very happy holidays!
I'm such a huge fan. I watch you on TikTok follow you on IG and have watched all your RU-vid videos. I love watching your journey. Your sound effect on your RU-vid videos have me rolling in laughter. Love it!
you honestly make me feel pure joy and happiness while watching your videos, i normally lose concentration with alot of youtube videos but with your videos my eyes are glued to the screen. Sending all my love from Australia :)
Traditionally, we eat Christmas Eve lunch at one of New Orleans' icon restaurants like Brennan's or Galatoire's, but also we've occasionally eaten Chinese food because thats the tradition in my family. Christmas Day we cook prime rib or something fancy. I want to try eating fried chicken and strawberry cake on Christmas. That sounds (and looks) awesome. 🎂🍗
The cakes look amazing!!! I wish we had 7-11 in the US that had the same quality as Japan. Japanese take so much pride in everything they do we need more of that in the US.
It’s so fun to see how other cultures celebrate the holidays. The Fried chicken Tradition is so funny, I love it. I loved the 7 eleven cake, so cute. I just moved to France and they have a Buche de Noël cake and it is delightful, I just did a video on French Traditions. Thank you for always sharing so many interesting facts! Happy New Year.
So I found you on Tik toc and love your videos so I came here. Ur personality is amazing it’s so warm and welcoming. Your doing an amazing job and I can’t wait to see Japan one day. Please keep posting cause I think I watched almost all your video this far lol I hope that’s not weird. But I’m happy to be here.
My family has gumbo every year on Christmas eve and Christmas day idk why but the way you were describing the Christmas cake reminded me of a chantilly cake ( or at least the ones that I've had)
Your videos are such a bright spot in my day, you have single handedly become my favourite RU-vidr. I'm in Canada and the cases of the virus are so high in my area, people are scared and this cheered me up more than you know ❤️❤️❤️
AMAZING content & edit! I’m putting together a version on the Japanese tradition this year in the US. Going to do a Vlog to share this tradition with my community. This is so cool 🙌🏽
Now I'm definitely in the mood for cake. I guess I have to bake one soon. Every since the ordering the cakes video, I have been so curious about how it would turn out. Very pretty and very impressive.
Hi Caitlin, I always watch your videos and I get really curious about driving in Japan, is it easy to drive from the other side and with basic Japanese? I know I would be really scared to even try.. love your videos!
Looks delicious. Didn’t know that’s where the cake emoji came from. 🎂. I’d love to see a video with origins of some of the other Japanese origin emojis (especially the good ones).
Thank you for sharing this with us, I can’t wait to visit one of those 7-Eleven’s one day! I heard from strictly dumpling that Hawaii has sort of a similar 7-Eleven system where they have some of the yummy foods. The cake looks like the kind that I get from my Asian bakeries in my area, I think they are predominantly Chinese.
Does your mom still have the southern/North Carolina accent? (I live in Pennsylvania, so all southern accents sound similar).. a belated Merry Christmas! I don’t like KFC.... but my mom loves it...
With the Christmas cakes, it it something that a lot of people make at home and if they don't wanna make it they can buy it or do people always just buy it? I love you videos!! :)
THOSE CAKES LOOKS AMAZING!!! They actually reminds me a little bit of Swedish strawberry cakes! It's really cool how 7eleven is a conbini but still sell so high quality food!! I've actually never eaten KFC even through there are a few KFC restaurants in sweden. But i really want to try it sometime, so what's your recommendations? One question i have is, when do Japanese people celebrate Christmas? Because Americans celebrate on the 25th aren't they? Or Do Japanese people also celebrate on the 24th like for example swedish people do? Hope your having a great start of 2021❤️😊
HI SWEET JONATAN!!! you should definitely go to KFC sometime - I am so curious now, too! I think the sides will change based on where you live, so if they have mashed potatoes you should get them! As far as Christmas, they celebrate on the 25 (we do the same in the USA!) but it's more like a Valentines, or lovers day!
Christmas isn't a day off holiday in Japan. People still work and go to school. Christmas is actually date night for couples and KFC/cake for families. It's a commercial holiday and not a religious holiday like in the West.
I found you through tiktok and now follow you on various platforms, haha. I can't remember where you did the 7/11 ramen tasting, but could you do another general snack hall from there? Not that you're taking requests, haha. Also you are literally the only person I can listen to when they're eating without wanting to become violent lol. Misophonia for everyone!
We are going to japan this december and trying to pre order kfc xmas dinner… but they keep declining our USA based credit cards such as visa, master card and AMEX… any suggestions welcomed🙏
The cakes looks so yummy !!! By the way, I find the sound effect a lot louder than the rest of the sound video, it kind surprising/disturbing when using headphones... but good video tho :))
Your bangs look great on this video. Can I ask you about your beautiful brown coat. Where did you get it? I love it! It is sad that Christmas is over. It is sad bus gir all you videos
There are good youtube vids about kfc and the marketing campaign. There's even a baseball team that has been cursed cuz they threw thier kfc santa in the river. 😆
Stupid Rona messed up ALL my plans! I was supposed to be in Japan Dec 24th thru Jan 6th and I was going to get myself a Christmas cake and go to the illuminations. Strawberry shortcake has always been my favorite cake and I was so bummed when I had to cancel visiting Japan again. Re-booked to mid September so crossing fingers & toes 2021 drinks some act right juice! 🤣
North Carolina buddy! I kinda got rid of my accent to cause I started living up north but it does still come out. Like if I'm excited or mad I will have a full southern accent. Also some words I say i still say with a southern accent. But yeah same girl, same.
Their biscuits are always like that I believe lol that’s the only good thing on the menu at KFC Japan 😅 So wish I wouldn’t have been lazy and bought a Christmas cake this year. That looked delicious 🤤
Did you know back in the day in the US chicken wings used to be considered a “waste” product? It used to be what was used in dog/cat food bc it wasn’t considered to be a “good” part
Oh, btw Angel Food cake is super light... and pound cake is super heavy and dense... so you were contradicting yourself... anyway, the 7-11 cake sounds delicious..
