We make another fun DIY Christmas tree decoration idea, The Nightmare Before Christmas pumpkins in snow tree themed Christmas tree which can be used as a holiday tree or a Halloween tree. This DIY Halloween decor & Christmas Decoration Idea is such a great crossover for both seasons. Nightmare before Christmas decorations are some of the most fun to make Halloween and Christmas decor our there. In this video we make a magical Nightmare Before Christmas themed Christmas tree using easy DIY tree decorating ideas and old foam pumpkins. Some of the decor used are from the Dollar Tree but instead of using nightmare before Christmas DIY ornaments we were inspired to make the Christmas tree similar looking to the large snow pile with flickering pumpkins in the Disneyland Haunted Mansion Christmas Holiday overlay of The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's really easy to achieve and is a great how to decorate idea on a small budget. Our easy Christmas Tree decorating tips are getting your hands on a couple of fake realistic looking Christmas trees to combine together to make your curled shape, some jack-o-lanterns, fake snow, Christmas lights, flickering lightning simulaor from lights alive. dollar store icicles, and some weight for the tree stand. Come decorate with us for Christmas as we do The Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion overlay on our 9' Christmas tree.

I've occasionally thought about doing a "Nightmare Before" theme so I could decorate in late August and leave it up till early January. :-D The finished tree really does look magical...even on video. This looks amazing!! We are doing a big Nightmare Before Christmas party this Fall and I'd love to make one. Where did you get all of the pumpkins? They are so pricey...it seems like it would be the majority of the cost of the project.

What a fun theme for a party, we have been collecting the pumpkins for years for Halloween so we just used what we had. If you purchased new funkins to use you're right it would get expensive.

We haven't had that happen yet but we have also replaced most of the bulbs with LED flickering lights now cause they look nicer.

This is my favorite Christmas tutorial ever! Maybe I'll do this next year. I am making a Jack Skellington sleigh with big lots unicorn skeletons turned into reindeer for my yard this Christmas. Fantastic job guys! Those fairy lights are awesome. Harrison did a great job too! ♡

If you're located in the U.S. you can find the carvable pumpkins at Michael's, JoAnns or hobby lobby from July throughout October. The older foam ones were picked up from yard sales and thrift stores.

Some of the pumpkins came that way and some were the craft store pumpkins you can carve yourself.

Hi...couple of questions: Did this stay outside or did you bring it in? Where did you get your foam blow pumpkins besides Ebay? Where did you place your black lights? And do you think this could be an outdoor decoration, not being in a covered porch, and if not what could you do to make it a little more weather resisted to rain and wind besides throwing plastic on it? I live in So Cal., we do get some rain, its just the darn wind sometimes. Also want to do a Grinch tree this year as well. Thanks for sharing your video, looks awesome, very impressive! (:

We live in So Cal as well and yes this was outside. The pumpkins were the hand carved funkins or store bought foam ones with lights inside. The black lights we used are on amazon amzn.to/2SyCxI9 they are not water proof so we brought that and the light controller inside when it rained. Everything else could get wet if rained but luckily we didn't have much of that kind of weather.

for the video we just positioned them back about 8' but when we use the lights in the house they can go just about anywhere in the room and work crazy good.

Look online for craft pumpkins that you can carve. There's a brand called Funkins. Also check Craigslist and thrift stores.

I didn’t know if you guys just ran some of the Christmas lights inside of them or if you are using certain bulbs.

Love how you curled the things into a spiral (nightmare before Christmas) on the tree. Very creative tree especially with the pumpkins. Awe cute Chris showed us a tour of his fire hazard wiring job. :) The Griswalds would be fans! I can imagine a bunch of white furrballs all over the house once our cats got into the tree. 99 cent store aye... if chris had splurged and went to the Dollar store those ice cycle holes might not break! :)

So the black lights were placed about 6-8 feet in front of the tree. If you could mount them somewhere where it wouldn't be a tripping hazard that would give you the same glowing effect.
