You can easily make the “Try Not To Laugh” game into a party/family game. One person can be the card reader and read the joke to the whole group. As each person smiles or laughs they are out. The last person remaining who did not smile or laugh gets the card and becomes the card reader. At the end (no joke card’s remaining) the person with the most cards wins. This makes the game even harder as you have to keep a straight face while those around you smile and laugh!! 😊

They don't spoil their kids with things they spoil them with love, patience, compassion, and lessons that will help set them up for success. These are some of the most genuinely kind and well brought up kids I've ever seen on here. Also the love that Jess and Chris have for each other is so precious. If you are looking for something between granulated sugar and powdered sugar you can use superfine sugar. It's essentially granulated sugar that's been processed a little smaller. Some blenders may be able to make it finer as well.

I have never used a water bath with a spring pan so I understand Jessica’s trepidation doing something unfamiliar but my thinking is if the seal in the pan keeps liquid IN then one would hope the pan would also keep liquids OUT lmao but I’m talking out my butt for sure so who knows 😂❤ Happy holidays everyone, enjoy yourselves!

I really enjoyed advent with the Balingers this year since Jacob and I had the same calendar (though I was missing Phyllis, le sad). I will side with Chris and say that Duncan’s calendar was quite spectacular and has given me ideas for next years calendar. Also, like chef Jake, I was adventurous in the kitchen and made my first beef Wellington for Christmas dinner. IT was delicious!

So my mum taught me to make pavalova (Pav's in Australia we shorten everything haha.) The trick is to use castor sugar and to stop the mixing and rub a little of the mixture between your thumb pointer finger and if you can't feel the sugar anymore it's ready to form the nest.

I make a cheesecake each year, last year I made orange Creamsicle flavor, this year I did lemon with a lemon blueberry glaze, it turned out fantastic 😋

In NZ we use caster sugar, which is granulated but more finely ground. Also try finding passionfruit sauce to use as a drizzle! Amazing job otherwise 👏

I never ever comment but I needed this so much ♥ on the 28th my grandfather passed away. He had spent 5 weeks in ICU so it's been a very rough time but watching your videos gave me some form of joy in this hard time. Thank you for what you do. Jessica, normally icing sugar is what is used for microwave pavlova/meringues, so that might make it a different consistency. Happy Christmas and a happy new year from the uk. Thank you for making me smile and laugh this year.

I think it is because the sugar dissolves into the egg white a lot quicker. So less air is incorporated into the mix due to shorter beating time. I am guessing this is probably a plus if baking in microwave as the air pockets would expand quickly and blow out if there was too much. I didn’t know you could make pavs on meringues in the microwave!
