Beautiful video. I have been a photojournalist for 36 years. When I'm not shooting for the newspaper I've been employed by for the past 33 years I love shooting wildlife. Christmas is BEST when it is white. l LOVE and APPRICIATE you showing these INCREDIBLE BEAUTIFUL pictures of the winter in Sweden. I use to live there now I live abroad and do not know HOW MANY TIME I MISSED THE SNOW at CHRISTMAS TIME. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UPLOAD.

Merry C. and keep up the nature support. It's important to now that when there are 5 squirrels at your door and you feed them, don't stop to feed them suddenly. Its a commitment as all 5 now are depending on your food supply tru a cold winter. If you plan to go away, ramp down the food supply for 10 days as they need to adjust to lack of food. Btw, A tip for an old Swedish house is to put a second and third layer in windows to keep the heat inside and keep cold out. A warm photographer is a better photographer. I'm not sure where to get them but I have DryWalkers (-50º rubber boots) and they are great, tested in --27º and are the best investment I've done. Keep it up and don't get northern fever by the lack of light, If u feel "it" add Construction Led lights (weather sealed) to get a some time to adjust.

Loved the tree! And of course the squirrels! We used to string cranberries and plain popcorn and put on the tree then after Christmas we’d hang it outside on a tree for the animals!

Wonderful Christmas scenes, thanks guys! I built a squirrel and bird feeding platform directly outside a window ledge. Eventually the squirrels get so use to you they will happily sit and eat on it even when you are just the other side. That would create some great photo opportunities. On another note given that there is so much snow there why not have a go at making a snow shelter. Its so much fun. Knock a thin 6 foot stake in the ground and then begin shoveling snow over it, always aiming for the stake. Keep doing this until the stake is covered and there is a nice dome of snow around it. Then begin digging an entrance into the dome and keep going until you reach the stake, then dig a chamber around the stake. You don't need to pat the snow down, in fact don't because it will turn the snow to ice and make it really difficult to dig into. The action of shoveling the snow from one place to another knocks a lot of the air out of it, so it compacts enough that way. You end up with an igloo style shelter. Enjoy!

-25C here too right now in middle Norway, and my old(1947) house has practically no insulation, so every morning it is about 5C inside downstairs. Yes, I do got woodstoves, I just don't use them till the evening. Will be installed a heating pump thing next year though, but you know... We get used to what we experience the most, and I now live this life every day.

the red squirrels in my garden stay red during the winter time, if it is because i am in the southeast of sweden or another species i can not tell. i give them walnuts, hazelnuts and sunflower seeds. they seem to be extremely territorial because if 2 of them in my garden they immediately start to fight and one of them have to run away. a bit sad because i give plenty enough food for them all. as you mentioned there are not many birds left in the forests because most of the birds migrate to africa during winter period and the rest migrate to gardens to find food and shelter. it is something cultural from back in time to not waste food, the food you do not want you give to the wild animals during winter. and because the animals give you happiness - we even buy special food to attract them to come to our gardens. it is a win/win for us all. cheers from southeast sweden. very beautiful video. thank you

LOVE the tree with the animals!!!

Tips on clothes to wear in the cold and shoes. get wool underwear it breathes and keeps you warm and when you and your boyfriend get dressed make sure you have several layers of clothes, it keeps the heat. When it comes to shoes, you should have 2 sizes bigger on your winter shoes, partly so that you wear extra thick socks but also that you have air around your feet, then your feet won't freeze as the air around you warms up. Because you walk a lot in the forest and blunder in snow, go to a scooter shop where they sell scooters, they sell scooter clothes and shoes, these scooter shoes are good against the cold and so no snow gets into the shoes. Then you can buy special heating rods that you insert into the shoes when you get home and these dry the shoes.
