I made an advent calendar for my husband's staff at church. The little square boxes formed a Christmas tree. Inside each box I put a figurines from a wood nativity scene that I had purchased from Israel that was carved by the Christians over there. The money went to support their church and was a special gift! I had so much joy in making them. I made about 10 of them I love yours! Wishing had seen it before I made mine.
That is so lovely, such a great idea. I make an advent calendar for my granddaughter every year just using decorated paper carry bags of various sizes. I put in books and little toys. My daughter hangs them from her stair rails. Take care , we lost power for several days after a storm several months ago. You don’t realise how much you depend on that service. ❤❤❤
Wow! I love this idea. I don’t think I would have thought to create that! You’re such an inspiration to all of us! Love the Doodlebug paper! Tfs! Big hugs! ❤❤❤
This came out great! I went to Michael’s yesterday and they had the clearance paper (thanks a bunch!). But they also had a lot of 12x12 frames in the clearance section for $5 each. I’ll have to go back and grab more for this project. Nice work, Deanna! 🩷🩷
The Advent Calendar came out so cute! I made one years ago that is similar except the boxes pull out. It was from Close to My Heart! My Grandkids loved getting their surprises each day! Thanks for sharing! ❤. Be safe! 🙏🙏
Hi Deanna, this is such a cute idea. I actually have some of those frames, I need 2 for a specific project but I will have one left over and I am going to make one of these. Thanks so much for sharing this great idea. Praying for your daughter and family🙏🙏
What a cute idea. I love it. Praying for your daughter. We live in Oklahoma City and have gotten very lucky so far thus year. We have had tonados all around us. The closest one was less than a mile away, it was pretty scary bit God had hus hand on us.
It's never too early for Christmas crafts in my book! I have thought about how to make an Advent calendar for several years and haven't had any good ideas yet. This is a great idea and turned out beautiful. You're so creative, thanks for sharing it with us ❤
Hi Deana! Love this idea for an advent calendar! I have never made one, it was never a tradition in my family. But who says you can’t start a new tradition, right? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for your and your family’s safety with all these horrible storms going through your area!! Hugs 🦋💖🦋💖
Great job, Deanna! In Canada at our Michaels the frame is $39.00…so it would be very expensive to sell at a craft show. Glad you are all ok after the storm…stay safe!
My sis in laws sister is along the tornado alley also and she been calling her on the daily if not 2-3 times daily after hearing the news here and there of the weather crazy stuff. My prayers are definitely with y’all. Now for your project how adorable, and how fun for kids. Tfs this fun. ❤😊
Love it! One suggestion because it’s smug fit little hands will have a hard time opening. I would add a knob to top off boxes to allow it to be used easily for children. Maybe sew a Pom Pom on for knobs or 3 dimensional charm for knobs? I think something would work without taking away from the box themes.
